Celebrating A New Release In Lori Foster's Men Who Walk The Edge Of Honor Series

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the release of TRACE OF FEVER, Book Two in Lori Foster's Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series and the first time in print!

Lori Foster first published with Harlequin in January 1996. Her second book launched Temptation Blaze and her 25th book launched Temptation Heat. Since those early days, Lori has routinely had 6 to 10 releases a year. She's a Waldenbooks, USA Today, Publisher's Weekly and New York Times bestselling author with over 80 titles published through a variety of houses, including Berkley/Jove, Kensington, St. Martins, Harlequin and Silhouette.

Lori believes it's important to back to the community as much as possible, and for that reason she ran special contests in conjunction with a publisher, facilitating many first sales for new authors. She routinely organizes events among authors and readers to gather donations for various organizations.

Along with her good friend, Dianne Castell, Lori hosts a very special annual "Reader and Author" event in West Chester Ohio. Proceeds from the event go to benefit worthy causes, including the Hamilton County YWCA Battered Women's Shelter, the Animal Adoption Foundation, and The Conductive Learning Center for children with spina bifida and cerebral palsy. CLICK HERE for details on this year's Reader and Author Get Together!

Caught in the crossfire of vengeance and desire...

Undercover mercenary Trace Rivers loves the adrenaline rush of a well-planned mission. With a smile like an angel and fire in her eyes, Priscilla Patterson isn't who she seems to be. But neither is the gorgeous bodyguard who ignites all her senses. Joining forces to plot Coburn's downfall, Priss and Trace must fight the undeniable heat between them. 50. Thanks everyone!

Debbie, I DO get cover approval! It was one of the very first things I wanted once I reached a level that I could negotiate contracts. ;-)

Elizabeth & Roxanne, the publisher finds the models, shoots the covers (and that sexy video!) and I do an approval. :-) I don't meet the cover models. And good thing, cuz I'd probably turn bright red! LOL

Hi Jess. Yes, I LOVE writing connecting books. Even when I try to write a stand alone, I end up with a secondary character who just chews on my Muse. ;-)

Debbie H., I'd have to say "all of the above." The ideas come from everywhere, and nowhere. I can't pinpoint it! They're just "there." Luckily!
I'm so blessed to be in a position where I CAN give back. It gives me great satisfaction. :-)

Patty, I loved writing my MMA guys! But that's how the Muse works. It jumps here and there, and as the writer, I just follow along. LOL

Mary, I have a few personal faves. "PLaying Doctor" from one of the Bad Boy anthologies, and "My House, My Rules" (loved Sam!) from another are two of my faves. I'm also partial to "Caught in the Act," and I'm really loving my current book - which won't be available until May 2012.

Hugs all! I gotta run to a T-ball game for my grandson. Good times!

    I'll stop back in tonight.

  63. Back from T-ball (boy it was hot!) and yup, more scattered than usual.

Let's see - I don't really hit road blocks. If I find myself NOT typing, I get up and do something else for a bit - throw in laundry, take out the dog, walk to the pond and feed the fish - and then my mind clears and I get back to work!

I DO run out of names! Ohmigosh, I haunt cemetery's looking for names. And somethings (shame on me) I end up using the same name over. Yup, it's happened. But with 80 some books out there, it's easy to do!

    Thanks all!

    Lori

  64. On over-used plots - nope. It's all in the telling, and in the author's voice. An author with a fresh voice can make anything sound brand spanking new!

Axel and Sam (in the books I mentioned before) are some my favorite uber macho guys. I do love the big protective Alphas! LOL

None of my books have been made into movies. :-( Bummer, huh? I would soooo love that!

    Lori

    ReplyDelete
  65. I know it seems like this is a trilogy, because I do goofy things with my scheduling, but a new character - Spencer Lark - presented himself in "Savor the Danger." And once he showed up, I knew he had to have his own book! So that's what I'm working on now.

And so far, I am madly in love with Spencer. He's all that and a bag of chips too. LOL.

His story (related the 3 out May, June and July) will be out in 201, probably in May.

After that... well, I have an idea what I want to write, but I'm not as yet contracted, so it could change. We'll see!

    Hugs to all.

  66. Hi Lori,

I hope everyone has a great time at the get-together!

    Here's my question:
Once you finish a series, do you tend to forget about your characters, or do you continue to think about what might be happening to them even after their stories have been told?

    Thanks!
