Today at our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating a hot new Ellora's Cave Quickie for Cerise DeLand!

Ah.

She becomes an author who can write about those romantic places. And if your sweet tooth craves spies, pirates, body guards and gutsy women of today and yesteryears of medieval and Regency England, then she is the author you crave for smoldering erotic encounters and delicious love affairs!

Her name? Cerise DeLand.

What's more is that Cerise is the award-winning author of 18 print novels of mystery, mainstream and romance with St. Martin's Press, Pocket Books and Kensington. Her books have been on every book club list you can name, including Featured Selections of The Mystery Guild, Doubleday and Rhapsody. And when she isn't dreaming up fiction? Cerise also writes non-fiction.

  1. Good morning Cerise and super congrats on the new Ellora's Cave Quickie release - ME AND MR. JONES!

Brings an immediate sexy tune to mind and sounds like the book will be as steamy as promised!

Loved the excerpt and can't wait to read the rest.

Since this is your first time here (alone, anyway ;-) can you please tell us a bit more about you and your books? I see you have another release coming up next week - tell us a bit about that too!

Enjoy your party and I hope the new book is a huge bestseller for you!

  2. Hello Cerise!
I read the excerpt on your site and really enjoyed it. I guess that is one way to make standing in the immigration line more enjoyable. LOL

I'm intrigued as to why Mr Jones moved up their annual reunion. I've been to Paris only once but I loved it. I like stories set in exotic locations.

Thanks for the excerpt and the great giveaway!

  3. HI, I love the concept. It certainly is intriguing and what a thing to look forward to. Where did you get the idea for this one?

  4. Hello, Everyone! So happy to be here. Have planned for this for a long time. LOVE these A.I. sites and I have been here often with Desiree Holt, my neighbor, buddy and partner in crime! (Actually in a series of romantic erotic thrillers from EC, Until the Dawn, Until Midnight and verrrrrry soon, Until Twilight which opens in a fave city of mine, Florence, Italy!)
I have written in print for years and years in historical romance and contemporary romance and straight mystery. Gotten on LISTS. And won awards, too! Been a Featured Alternate for The Mystery Guild and well reviewed by RT and PW.
SO! Why am I in erotica?
Because I believe that great sex is a mark of people in love.
    Always.
    Any gender or number combination!
And when I was in straight romance, my editors always said, um, babe, can you TONE DOWN the erotic nature?
I said, sure. But I wanted to write sexy as I felt it needed.
    Hence, here I am!
ME AND MR. JONES speaks to the other activity I love best: TRAVEL.
Combining a great man and a superb lover (I've had one of my own for quite a long time) with a rendezvous sounded like a yummy premise for a novel! And where best to go but Paris????
I have been often and these sights you "view" here are those I have seen many times.
    The hotel. The spa.
    The restaurant.
I especially love the hotel which was during WWII heaving visited by the NAZI Gestapo...and across the street was the headquarters for the Paris Resistance!!!

  5. Hi Stacie,
    So glad you came!
Yes, the immigration line at Charles DeGaulle usually moves quickly. I love the ride into town in a taxi--or a train, passing by so much of the Burbs and viewing the Eiffel Tower.
One place that takes my breath away in Paris--and you may gasp--is Napoleon's Tomb. Grand. Regal. It gives you the feeling of who he was as an imperial, imperious and charismatic leader.
I hope you will read ME AND MR. JONES to learn the reason why their reunion is late this year!

  6. Debbie, hi!
    Thanks for coming!
Where did I get the idea???
I have always loved the song Mr. and Mr. Jones and have Michael Buble's version on my iPod. THIS I play to cook to, dance to, dream to till I am sick and want to hop on a plane to see him wherever he might be!
    SO.
SAID TO SELF one day, how can I make this into a great plot?
You see titles make my day. If I can think of a great title, I can put a plot to it. The way my mind works!!!
We had SONG, we had TITLE, all we needed was PLOT. The characters of two people who for some odd (and not so odd) reason must rendezvous each year came next.
    And I do love her.
And he? Knows how to care for his woman.
    What a man!

  7. Hi Darlin'! Just stopping in to say HI to my bud and wish you much success with this newest one. I swear, I had that song stuck in my head for DAYS. Should I smack you for that???? Naw, I don't think so. I happen to love that song. Just a note to visitors here...if you haven't read Cerise you MUST. She's amazing. I'm her numbero uno FANGIRL.

  8. Cerise, congrats and happy release day! I love the premise for this story! And how fun where the idea came from--we can find inspiration everywhere! :D

  9. REGINA!!!! My buddy, on line and in person with spirits in hand and in the room!
So glad you came over. Always a good time with you around.
YES. I put that song in your head. Did you dance? Sing?
    HOPE SO.
    Thanks for the plug.
BUT YOU KNOW, folks, it takes a good writer to praise another one.
Regina is an enchanting storyteller. If you have not yet tried her work, DO. You are in for a treat.

  10. flchen1!! HI! (I think I know your name...but not certain!)
    THANK YOU FOR COMING OVER!
How do I celebrate a new book?
Yesterday, the Amazing Desiree Holt and I went to lunch.
    Today, I do this party.
Tonight, a great bottle of wine!
I love to cook. Eat. Drink. And I have to work it all off at the gym. regularly.
and this from a gal who loves her office chair!

  11. Congrats!!! The book looks delicious! I'm glad you had a great dinner with Desiree. I can't wait to read what was going on with the 5 exhibitionists lol
To celebrate with you I'm having a yummy hot chocolate :D
    Have a great weekend!

  12. Leanne, you are in the spirit with that hot chocolate!

YEs, those 5 exhibitionists are...intriguing and wow, to write them? I had lots of inspiration from a few amazing movies I saw years ago. That was when one had to go to a theater to see X rated shows and most of the audience was MEN who wore raincoats.

    How the world has changed.
    Hope you enjoy MR. JONES!

ALLIE, baby! My buddy in books. (WE have at EC the WEDDING BELLES quartet together with Desiree Holt.) I melt your garters, huh? Got to see those next time we room together!
Kisses for coming over to wish me well.
Folks, you must go read her Destination series at EC. A must for anyone who also loves to travel.

  19. Leni, You tickle me.
Yes, I do have encounters that did not make the book.
I could see the first time they...got together. The whirl-wind way they courted.
Perhaps I need to make that another book!

  20. Jean, hello there!
I am so glad you are here and that you have read FALLING FAST and liked it!
That was a Texas contemporary western I just knew...because I combined two men I know myself into one character and then came up with a heroine to go with.

  30. I love Cerise Deland! There are a lot of words I could use to describe her writing style but one word I will never use is "predictable".
Cerise writes in a wide variety of genres and formats and does it all so well. The next story could take place anywhere at anytime-you never know and it's always a fun ride.

  31. So delighted so many of you have come on this Mother's Day! (We just came back from buying 2 lobsters who will soon adorn our steamer today! My other gifties are a trip to see Michael Buble who will soon perform in Austin--a hike for us down here in south Texas. AND don't you know, Michael sings his own version of ME AND MR> JONES!)

  32. Kat! SUPER happy you came over! Kat, you should know, writes DIVINE erotica.
Thanks for the lovely plug, babe.

  33. Cathy M,
Inspiration comes to me in the shower, on the road listening to radio or iPod. BUT I never play a thing while writing. Can't. I'd never get anything done!
And I live in a rural setting. Quiet as a sleeping cat. I once had an admin. assistant who LIVED for me to leave her here to work so she could turn on music. She said her brain did not work it was so quiet here.
    To each his own.
BUT this soundtrack of ME AND MR JONES always makes me happy!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Anne,
The tryst idea def. came from this song. But of course, I wanted to make it romantic and as mysterious as the lyrics. But I knew I could not make it about a man and a married woman. This meant I had to change the song title...a bit.
I even worried the title might not be engaging enough, but my editor loved the concept. As did I!
But the reasons why lovers meet--legitimate lovers, that is--are few. I put together those that gave me mystery, drama, the ability to put it in a wonderful place I know well and voila!
    Paris! LOVE! Mr. Jones!

  35. Jean, I am married...for a very long time to a wonderful man.
How does he feel about me writing erotica?
He chuckles (as do our children) but he does not read what I write. Fine by me. He does not even read my straight sensual historical romances or contemps. He reads only my mysteries, all to date in print. Soon to be in digital.
He is proud of my abiity to write anything.
Soon, I will have a non-fiction book out, too.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Darcy!
Thanks for the lovely words. SO GLAD you enjoyed the excerpt.
Lots to choose from among those books.
    Historical. Regency. Medieval.
    Contemp.
    Menage.
Florence. Paris. Abu Dabi. NY. Texas. Texas. Texas.
You might say I have FUN.
