Celebrating A New Historical Menage From Starla Kaye

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the Black Velvet Seductions release of THEIR LADY GLORIANA by Starla Kaye!

Starla often tends to see things and life through the rose-colored eyes of a romantic. She grew up in a loving family, something for which she will always be grateful. Today she is surrounded by a loving family and many wonderful friends who support her in all of her craziness.

Starla is working toward being a full-time writer of romance, everything from sweet to erotic to naughty, and is multi-published at this time. She is a member of RWA (Romance Writers of America), the current Vice-President/Secretary of Kansas Writers Association, the past president of WARA (Wichita Area Romance Authors), and an affiliate memeber of OWFI (Oklahoma Writers Federation Inc.).

Starla writes in a number of romantic sub-genres including contemporary and Old West cowboys, sci-fi, paranormal, Regency and Medieval. When not writing or dreaming up another plotline and a new set of characters, she might be off traveling somewhere. Well, even when she travels to places like Maui, the U.K., France, Italy, or even spots in the good old USA, she's dreaming and plotting. And taking oodles of pictures wherever she goes.

In medieval times honorable men had to do what was required of them by the kings to whom they were loyal...

Thomas Lancaster, a widower with bad memories of marriage and a young son he barely knew was a hardened knight loyal to his king. In reward for his efforts fighting in the Crusades, King Edward gave him Middlemound Castle to hold for the crown. But the king decreed that he must marry the beautiful young widow of the castle's previous lord.

Lady Gloriana Stewart had suffered brutally in her first marriage and had no desire to marry again. Yet she had no choice. She had to protect her people and obey her king.

All she wanted was for her new husband to give her a baby.
Having already lost one wife in childbirth, Thomas refused to even consider it.

Sir Rowan Montgomery, Thomas's first knight, friend, and lover complicated the situation even more. Thomas didn't want to give up Rowan and Gloriana didn't want to admit she had feelings for her husband and for Rowan.

  6. Hi Starla :)
I just read the excerpt for Their Lady Gloriana.
I just HAD to buy the book after reading the excerpt. I love the relationship between Gloriana, Thomas and Rowan. Gloriana's curiosity is a riot and her attempts to put salve on Thomas's ass had me laughing. Have you always enjoyed reading/ writing about the Mideval era?

    Mindy :)

  7. Hi, Starla.

You're a new author for me but not for long. Their Lady Gloriana is right up my alley and I've added it to my must have list!

Will there be a sequel to Their Lady Gloriana?

  8. Hi Starla,

What drew to the Medieval period? And have you ever taking a tour in England to see medieval castles?

    The trailer was beautiful.

  9. I forgot my email addy:

  10. Oh I'm heading right over to read the excerpt!

I love this time period - camelot and knights and more knights! I mean not much sexier than a man in shining armor ;-)

How much research did you have to do to start writing historicals?

And I know some readers are crazy when it comes to correct details - I just want a wonderful story to get lost in and don't really care too much as long as they don't flip as switch and the lights come! How do you deal with the sticklers and are you one yourself?

  11. This looks like a good book! is it a standalone or planing to continue characters??

  12. Wow, this new story sounds great, Starla--congrats, and hooray for progress towards your goal of writing full time! Do you like to read as widely as you write? What are your favorite genres to read?

  13. This seems like a frivolous question but is the name Gloriana historically correct? I had never heard the name before until a few months ago when I read another book with the name in it. I assumed it was made up by the author. Thanks for the giveaway.
