Celebrating A Sexy Cougar Romance From Sam Cheever

Today on our Cyber LaunchParty Blog we're celebrating the release of a sexy cougar suspense from Sam Cheever and Ellora's Cave!

Sam writes fast paced fantasy and romantic fiction with feisty characters who deal with life's little challenges in unique and often hilarious ways. As a reader Sam is very impatient. She quickly loses interest if a story doesn't have a good pace and snappy dialogue. Sam's inability to focus in a backwash of human angst and subtleties works out well for her readers, since she writes the way she likes to read.

In her real life, Sam lives on a hobby farm in Indiana with 10 dogs, 4 horses, 2 barn cats, 2 daughters, and one husband. Not necessarily in that order.

BUMP 'N' GRIND by Sam Cheever

Attractive divorcee, Felicia Jeffries, is turning 45 and her friends have dragged her to a male strip club to celebrate. If she had her druthers, Felicia would be hiding in a dark corner with her friends. Instead, she finds herself on stage, dirty dancing with a sexy hottie whose smoldering glances tell Felicia that he could care less about the difference in their ages.

Garrett Holcomb has always liked older women. He enjoys convincing them that their bodies' natural changes are sexy, rather than the negative they perceive them to be. When Felicia slides her sexy body against his that night in the dance club, he knows they're meant to be together.

But someone else doesn't think their love is healthy. And he'll do anything to make sure they miss out on the future they want together. Including nearly murdering a man...and pinning Garrett for the attack.

  1. Good morning Sam and super congrats on the new EC release!

For those who don't know this book was released elsewhere and reworked for EC, correct?

Can you tell us a bit about the story and this goes along with your other cougar story at EC right? How do they connect?

What else is going on in Sam's world?

Enjoy your cyber launch party and I hope BUMP 'N' GRIND is a bestseller for you!

  2. Hey DeNita!

Yes, this has been published before, under the title, Namaste,My Love. Bits 'n' Bytes was originally written as a companion story to Bump 'n' grind, but for several reasons I decided to publish it through Ellora's Cave instead, so, when I got my rights back, I just did some minor rewriting on Bump 'n' Grind, and major additions to the heat level, and viola!

The heroine in Bump 'n' Grind is Bliss' (the heroine from Bits 'n' Bytes) best friend so it was fun to get them back together again. #:0)

What else is going on? Oh my goodness, I'm up to my armpits in final edits for Book 5 in my Honeybun Hunks series. Honeybun in a Loin Cloth will go to my editor this week and will probably release in September. I'm really excited about this one, it's a doozy!

Thanks as always for throwing me a fun cyber party!

  4. Here's another little taste of the book!

He enjoys convincing them that their bodies’ natural changes are sexy, rather than the negative they perceive them to be. When Felicia slides her sexy body against his that night in the dance club, he knows they’re meant to be together.

But someone else doesn’t think their love is healthy. And he’ll do anything to make sure they miss out on the future they want together. Including nearly murdering a man…and pinning Garrett for the attack.

    ~*~*~

She closed her eyes and swayed with him, feeling every hard line of his long body against hers. His hands slid over her back and shoulders, soothing, caressing, until her muscles felt like the softest butter under his fingers.

Felicia’s hands moved over his body, sliding across his narrow waist, up his sides, and across his broad chest. They trailed past the strong shoulders and thick neck, to a square-jawed face with just the hint of dark gold stubble across it.

The room erupted as he lowered his head and laid his lips over her throat.

Felicia gasped at the moist heat of his mouth resting on her pulse and threw her head back. His tongue slipped out from between his teeth and he licked her.

Feeling as if she’d been drugged, Felicia pressed herself against the hard thigh between her legs, humping it shamelessly as her body heated and pulsed with need.

Sharp teeth replaced the hot tongue on her skin. He bit her, gently, and then followed the tiny nip with another swipe of his hot tongue.

The room fell away. Felicia was aware of the music and the room full of friends and strangers only as a dull throb at the back of her consciousness. It disappeared under the all-encompassing aura of the man in her arms.

His was a sensual sphere, filled with promises and forbidden delights. And Felicia suddenly realized she wanted it all.

Her hands slid to his buttocks. They were firm and round and filled her hands nicely. His lips moved down her throat to the tops of her breasts, leaving a warm tingle of sexual awareness in their wake.

Felicia groaned and pulled him closer, grinding against the long, hard length beneath the denim…and the Road Runner. The thought made her giggle and he pulled away, looking down on her with bright blue eyes.

When he spoke she almost came just from the sound of it. His voice was warm and smoky, like the best whiskey running through her system. “You like my big bird?”

She stared back at him, her smile sliding away under the intensity of his look. She was too lust-fogged to come back with anything resembling wit.

His mouth was wide, his teeth white between generous lips. His dark gold hair was cut short, curling softly around his ears and at the back of his head. When he looked at her his jaw worked as if he was fighting some emotion. His tongue slid across his lips, making her pussy clench with need.

Felicia’s eyes widened. “Who are you?”

His generous mouth curved upward, his eyes sparkling with humor. He lowered his lips toward her ear just as the music in the bar stopped, signaling a break for the dancers. “I’m a man who thinks you are as sexy as hell.”

  5. This sounds like it will be a great book. Thanks for the excerpt. Do you have a favorite genre to read and a must have author?

  6. Hey Sherry!

My favorite genre is paranormal/fantasy. Romantic Suspense is a very close second.

I recently discovered Chloe Neill, Chicagoland Vampires, and love the series so far. I also like Nalini Singh and Karen Chance. On the mystery/thriller side, I've just discovered Josh Lanyon and love his books.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  9. Hello Sam~
10 dogs? I can't even imagine that. I have 2 and they are so rotten that I could not imagine having more.

Is this going to be part of a series or is it a stand alone book?

  11. Hey Mindy!!!!

Thank you for stopping by to see me! I'm glad to hear you like my Honeybuns. The new book is a lot of fun and will make your palms sweat too! Godric in a loin cloth is definitely something to behold! I think you'll enjoy it!

  12. Hey Tammy!

I LOVE my cover. And I'll probably get to rub elbows...or something...with the model at RomantiCon this year. Don't hate me because I'm lucky...I'll think of you when I drape myself all over him. Har! Just kidding, ask DeNita...I'll probably be hiding in my room.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  13. June!!!

I'm a total dog-a-holic! We just got two new puppies last weekend. They're so cute! And dogs are like potato chips...you can't have just one...or five. Snorf!

Bump 'n' Grind has a companion book entitled, Bits 'n' Bytes and if I get a chance to write another one it will officially be a series. #:0)

I'll probably write that third book. I think all good things come in threes!

    Thanks for stopping by!

  14. Hey Cathy!

I'm so glad you're enjoying the Honeybun series. I've had a lot of fun with the boys! #:0)

The Honeybun Hunks series will be comprised of 8 books. One for each Honeybun brother. The one I'll submit this week is number 5.

After constant and incessant nagging from my publisher for more Honeybuns...snorf...(just kidding Wendi!) I've started a Honeybun Cousins series too. That series is open ended and I'll probably write a few more of those. Book 2 in that series released a couple of months ago.

Thanks for stopping in to see me!

  16. Hi Sam (waving)!
Congratulations on the release of Bump 'n' Grind! Great cover and I loved the excerpts - sounds like a great summer read!
I'm sorry, but I've never heard the term 'hobby farm' before - what is it?
    Enjoy the cyber party!!

  17. Hey Bookwyrm!

Thanks! He's really kind of hot isn't he? Snorf! Actually, the publisher asks the author to fill out a cover request form after the book is contracted so we can tell the artists what we want the cover to look like. They generally do a really nice job of giving us what we want.

Great Question! Thanks for stopping by!

  18. Hi Karen (waving back #:0)!

A hobby farm is a farm that isn't a business. For example, although we have a field that we harvest for hay every year, we generally just use the property to keep horses and dogs! We don't grow crops or livestock for sale on it.

Another great question! Thanks so much for stopping in to say hey!

  19. Hi there, Artemis!

I actually have been to a few male strip clubs! It was years ago and they were much like I described them in the book. It's a really fun way to have a girl's night out...as long as what happens in the strip club...stays in the strip club. Snorf! I hope you get to go some day!

  23. Thanks, Sam, for the explanation - makes perfect sense now!!!

  24. Hey Flchen1!

You know, it's usually such a hectic time, when I have a new release that I don't have much time to celebrate. I mostly just enjoy the process of telling everybody about my new story. It's very exciting...no matter how many times I do it...to offer something new to the world.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  25. Hi there, Elaing8! #:0)

The very first thing I do when I finish a book is to heave a huge sigh of relief. The last couple of weeks completing and prepping a manuscript for submission are kind of grueling.

The final edit process brings out all the excitement you felt when writing the story, but it also fills you with doubts. What if I missed a plot point? What if nobody likes my story, my characters, my subject matter... etc.

So once it's done I'm always relieved. I like to go out to dinner that night to celebrate. Then I usually take a breather for a day and get right back at it.

I always have 2 or 3 stories waiting on the back burner so I don't have much time to reminisce about ones I've completed. Har!

    Thanks for the great question!

  26. Hey Jen B!

Oh my, where to start... #:0)

If you like romantic suspense you might like my Honeybun Hunks series. Book 1 of that series is entitled, A Honeybun and Coffee. You could become a Honeybun Honey! Snorf.

If you like fantasy I have several series and a few great singles. It just depends on what you like. My Dancin' With the Devil series is very popular. The first book in that series is 'Tween Heaven and Hell. It's a really fun series and the books are currently on sale in Kindle format for $1.49 I think.

You can check out all my books on my book pages. On my website I provide blurbs, excerpts, and sometimes videos to help you get a taste of the books.

Hopefully that helps #:0) If you do decide to read one of my books, I'd love to hear how you liked it.

    Thanks for stopping by!
