Celebrating Two Vampire Releases For Heidi Betts

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the release of  MUST LOVE VAMPIRES a brand new release from Heidi Betts and the mass market release of Heidi's THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS!

National bestselling author HEIDI BETTS loves all things scary and paranormal...though she's not a big fan of things that go bump in the night. (Hello! Sleeping, here.) When she's not writing about vampires (among other things), she often dreams of being an undead creature of the night - if only so that she can sleep all day, stay up all night, and never age another minute or gain another pound. The drinking of blood doesn't necessarily appeal, but it's something she thinks she could get used to. Plus, she hears it tastes like chicken.

MUST LOVE VAMPIRES by Heidi Betts

Love At First Bite

Nightclub dancer Chloe Lamoureaux just met the man of her dreams: Aidan Raines is charming, considerate, rich, and hot. Of course, he's a little mysterious about his age. And his favorite drink. And he's not much for sunlight. But he's asked her to marry him, and she's ready to do it. Sure, she has a few secrets too - but they'll have plenty of time to work things out while they're living happily ever after. Right?

Her identical twin sister, Chuck, isn't so sure. Maybe reporting for the local Bigfoot-sighting tabloid doesn't make her an expert, but to Chuck, Aidan and his brother Sebastian look like honest-to-Dracula vampires. Especially Sebastian: beguiling, seductive, and just a hint of dangerous. Maybe she wouldn't mind him taking a little taste. But with Chloe's life in the balance, she has to know - do they want hot love or hot blood? Or maybe...a little of both?

And don’t miss...
ONE LAST BITE (an epilogue to Must Love Vampires)

THE BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS by Heidi Betts

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Vampires...

Vampires turn to fanged and fabulous matchmaker extraordinaire Angelina Ricci to help them find that special someone to curl up with under the mistletoe in this charming (read: sexy) and delightful (read: funny) holiday collection by national bestselling author Heidi Betts. Because vampires need love, too. (Biting optional. Hot sex guaranteed.)

"All I Vant For Christmas"

Millionaire vampire Connor Drake loves trimming the tree, baking gingerbread cookies, and hanging the mistletoe for Christmas, but his Goth and gloomy vampire siblings won't have anything to do with it. Enter Angelina, who sends party planner Jillian Parker to the rescue. But when Jillian - who's mortal -discovers that she's decking the halls for a family of vampires, will she run...or will Connor have a beautiful woman to share the holidays with?

"A Vampire in Her Stocking"

When Vivian learns that her secret crush, Sean, is terminally ill, she is heartbroken. Confiding in her matchmaking friend, Angelina recommends the obvious - give Sean eternal life by turning him into a vampire, too. But when Vivian refuses, Angelina decides to play Santa (with a side of Cupid) and changes Sean for her, leaving him wrapped in a bright red bow on Vivian's doorstep...

"It's A Wonderful Bite"

Although Angelina is happy with her longtime lover, Ian, she's ready for a commitment. After drinking eggnog and watching It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve for the (literally) four millionth time, Angelina falls into a dream where she is mortal, and Ian is involved with someone else. Talk about the nightmare before Christmas! But Santa must have checked his list twice, because this Christmas, Angelina's wishes are about to come true...

  3. Congrats Heidi on the dual releases.

I know that the timing of a release is more about the publisher than the author, but I wondered, do you concentrate on writing just one book at a time, or do you juggle 2 or more?

  5. Good morning, all! Thank you so much for spending the day with me & reading all about my new release...es. LOL (I don't think I've ever had two books out at the exact same time before, so I haven't gotten the juggling thing down quite yet. *g*)

But I'm all about fun, so that's exactly what we're going to have.

  8. Hi, Kathryn! Just gotta say, I LOVE your e-mail addy. *snicker*

I definitely work on only one story at a time. I'm very linear & can't even jump ahead to work on a different scene if the current one is giving me trouble. I know some authors do this, or juggle more than one project at a time, but for me--no, no, no, no. :(

However, there have been a couple of times in my career when deadlines have gotten switched up or circumstances have forced me to stop working on one story & jump into another. Takes me forever to get back into the original when that happens, but I have done it when necessary.

    Thanks for the great question!

  9. Hi! I am wondering how I have not read any of your books. I LOVE vamps so I will definitely be checking into your books! My question: If vampires were real, would you want to be one? What would be the best thing about being one for you? Worse?

  12. Hi, June! I'm so glad you're going to give my vampire books a try! Fair warning, tho--I do light, sexy, & funny, so don't go into it expecting some dark & intense urban fantasy-type vampire story. I love to read those, but I don't write them! :P

Sometimes I think I would like to be a vampire. I mean, I don't do well in direct sunlight & love staying up all night long, anyway. But then I think about living long past my loved ones & drinking blood &...maybe not so much.

If I *were* one, tho, there are just too many things that could be cool about it. Immortality, super powers, rapid healing, possibly the ability to change into a bat... It's all very appealing. :)

    How about you?

  25. I love vampire stories. My family jokes that I am a vampire because I don't like direct sunlight either! Do you have plans to incorporate any other paranormals into your stories? Thanks for the giveaway.

  26. Hi, Chey! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed the excerpts. It's hard to come up with snippets I think readers will enjoy that don't reveal too much! :(

    Fave genre... Reading or writing?

Writing, I don't *really* have a favorite. I love them all. But my fave *at the moment* does seem to be whatever I'm working on or am about to work on. Whenever I'm getting ready to start a new vampires story, I think, "Oooh! I get to write about vampires!" When I'm working on a Desire, I think, "I love writing Desires!" And the humorous contemps--oh, I love those very much, too. So much fun! :D

Reading, I really love just about everything, as long as it's romance or has strong romantic elements. But the genres at the top of the list would probably be the ones I *don't* write--Romantic Suspense & Urban Fantasy come readily to mind. Don't think I could ever pull off one of those, but I *adore* reading them.

    Thanks for the great question!

  27. Hi, elaing8! MUST LOVE VAMPIRES isn't part of a series. Both of my vampire romances for Brava (MLV & BITE BEFORE CHRISTMAS) are stand-alones, though they are sort of made up of connected stories.

MUST LOVE VAMPIRES is a 2-in-1 (two stories focusing on different sisters/heroes, but very much connected) & BITE BEFORE XMAS is 3-in-1 (three stories revolving around separate sets of characters, tied together closely by threads of plot).

I hope that makes sense. :) Point is, you can definitely jump into either of my vampire stories without worrying that you're missing something. =D

  28. Leni~

What a great question. I don't know for sure what's going to happen, but my editor & I *have* discussed including ONE LAST BITE if MUST LOVE VAMPIRES is ever reprinted or put out in another version. Don't know if that will ever happen, but I do like the idea. :)

In the meantime, tho, you can read ONE LAST BITE absolutely free, so don't hesitate!

  29. Hi, Jen! Thank you so much! If we ever get together, we can huddle in a corner away from the sun - I don't like it, either. I mean, I like it; we need the sun & I do like warm weather, but direct, hot-hot-hot sun...no!

I would love to do other types of paranormals. No plans at the moment, but I do have a couple of ideas that involve werewolves & demons, & maybe a dragon or two.

I'll let you know when I get around to writing them. *G*
