Celebrating The Newest Release In Zenobia Renquist's Caveat Emptor Series

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog we are celebrating the release of ANGUISHED LOVER, book four in Zenobia Renquist's (aka D. Renee Bagby) Caveat Emptor Series.

Renee is a military brat turned military wife who is currently stationed in MD with her husband and two cats.

Whether writing as D. Renee Bagby or Zenobia Renquist, she is a world-builder. She loves inventing new cultures and shaping their histories and laws because it beats researching the existing ones.

Her stories span the fantasy gamut but she dabbles in sci-fi and contemporary from time to time. While her main characters tend to be of different races, she doesn't let skin color rule or limit her stories. For her, it's all about how much she can torture her characters so they earn their happily-ever-after ending.

The rules are all new and pre-conceived notions will only slow you down, so when reading Renee's stories, she asks only one thing -- Leave Your Reality Behind.

  1. Good morning Zenobia/Renee

Super congrats on the new release and on your book ERIS being chosen as a paranormal finalist in the 2011 Golden Leaf hosted by the NJRW!!

Lots of stuff to celebrate this month!

For those not familiar with your Caveat Emptor Series - can you tell us all about it and how the books fit together and how many book there will be in the series.

I hope you're staying dry and are on high ground there in Maryland. There's some terrible flooding in your part of the world and my heart goes out to all those suffering through it.

Enjoy your party today and I hope the new book is your biggest seller yet!

  2. Hi All,

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday. Thanks, DeNita, for the congrats. I was really happy to get the call about the Golden Leaf final. I'm sad I'm not able to go to the award ceremony, but I'll be in Hawaii by then.

The Caveat Emptor series is about the vampire-mage war, the humans caught in the middle, and the couples trying to make love work while fighting for their lives. It will be seven books long. It is written in couplets. CE1 and CE2 are about Theron and Ryver. CE3 and CE4 are Lamon and Sicily. CE5 and CE6 will be about... well you have to wait until November to find out about that couple. CE7 will bring closure to the whole series.

Because I know this gets asked a lot, the series can be read out of order sort of. As I said, the books are written as couplets. You can read CE3 and then CE1, if you like, but CE2 is a direct sequel of CE1 (likewise CE4 is a direct sequel of CE3). So in that respect, you do have to read it in order.

It's been a blast writing this series, and my favorite is coming soon. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as me.

  8. Bookwyrm - Thanks for stopping by and the congrats.

I like reading shoujo manga and paranormal romances -- usually the shifter stuff. There's something about men wrestling with their animal side... literally. :P

  9. Congrats on the new release. If I win, I would like a copy of Provoked Lover.

Since you've already figured out when the Caveat Emptor series will end, do you have a plan for the book or series that you'll work on next?

  11. Kathy - Thanks for the congrats. I have several books planned and plotted and some are even partially written. I'm not sure if I'll do a novella series again any time soon. Only my muse knows that. :P

For the most part, I have already figured out what will be coming out with Changeling for 2012.

Tameka - Thanks for the congrats. I love vampires. The Caveat Emptor series wasn't originally supposed to be a series. It started off as a one-shot where I wanted the vampire to not have control of the relationship, for once. And then it evolved. I'm happy for the evolution since it's given me the chance to do a series and to explore some of the other characters I created.
