UNWRAPPED - A Christmas Anthology
From the streets of Chicago to the back roads of Kentucky to the wild dunes of a Scottish isle, mistletoe and mischief are this season's hottest gifts...
While a blizzard blankets the world outside, Blue Farrow burrows into the arms of her highway hunk at the No Tell Motel. The road might be closed for dangerous conditions, but the couple navigates their own Kentucky Christmas curves. Nice and oh-so-naughty, Blue and her man open up to each other as they keep the Yule log burning.
SANTA IN A KILT by USA Today bestselling author Donna Kauffman
The wind-whipped December sands of the isle of Kinloch invigorate Kira McLeod as she sets out to tame rugged Shay Callaghan, a Scottish bachelor as wary of a wedding ring as a snowman is of the hot sun. It'll take all the wiles of the canny islanders to weave a perfect Celtic Christmas for all.
SNOW ANGEL by National bestselling author Kate Angell
Snowed under in Chicago, free spirit Allie is trapped in Dutton's department store on Christmas Eve when the lights go off and the holiday romance heats up. Our snow angel finds herself face to face with the dashing Aiden, the heir to the retail riches and her host for a night of winter wonder.

Good morning ladies and super congrats on the new release!!
ReplyDeleteI really don't want to think about Christmas this early, but with three great new Christmas Romances to read now, I guess I can make an exception!!
Please feel free to pop in and tell us about your story in this anthology and tell us what else you have going on.
Wishing you lots of sales for the new anthology and here's to getting in the Christmas spirit!
I love Christmas and I love anthologies..Its a two for one today for me :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new release. The stories sound great.
Are these stand alone stories or a part of a series?
elaing8(at)netscape(dot)net
Congratulations on the new release!
ReplyDeleteI love holiday stories.
My question for the authors:
Did you get to choose the individual titles for your novellas in the anthology or were they chosen by your editors/publishers? and how much input did you have into the cover? It's very appropriate for the anthology title.

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the well wishes. I'm excited about this release as it marks the final story in my Hot Scot trilogy (which began with Some Like it Scot, followed by Off Kilter.) Don't worry, they all stand alone, but I'm excited for readers to finally get Shay's story!!
ReplyDeleteMaria - to answer your question on titles and cover art. It's a combination. It's not just the readers we have to win over, but the buyers, reviewers, marketers, distributors etc. In addition to marketing, art, editorial, and author, you've also got the sales team as they are front line knowing what's working and what's not with their accounts. It's a team effort across the board w every release.
I'm a big fan of working with the pros whose job it is to know that stuff and doing what we can as a team to get the best possible result. We're all working toward the same goal! :)
I'm glad you like this particular cover. I thought they nailed it!

I LOVE holiday anthologies and the warm-fuzzies you get from them. This group of authors have worked together often. What is it about you wonderful writers that has you working together so often?

I can't believe it is time for Christmas. I love a good Christmas story to get me in the holiday spirit.
ReplyDeletecsdsksds[at]gmail[dot]com
I just Picked up Slow Ride. :-) My question is are these stories connected to any of your series if so which ones.
ReplyDelete1_trouble AT msn DOT com
I haven't had a lot of luck with Christmas themed books. These stories look interesting. I do like reading anthologies because I get to read short stories by authors I am not familiar with. I have read Erin McCarthy's work before. Donna and Kate - Are your stories more series or LOL? Are they the kind of stories you read in one sitting with a cup of coffee or could I easily read them a little at a time as my schedule allows?

Hello Everyone! I'm late to the party. Busy day. Thanks so much for celebrating and promoting Unwrapped. It's appreciated! I'm hoping you'll get into the holiday spirit with these fun, sexy, romance novellas. I've been writing the Richmond Rogues, baseball romance series. This particular novella is a standalone.
ReplyDeleteI have not read either of these authors. I would like to know if these books are related to series or not.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new release! I like anthologies because I'm introduced to new-to-me authors.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your favourite genre to write?
chey127 at hotmail dot com
Happy Release Day to Erin, Donna and Kate. The Brava anthologies are my favorites.
ReplyDeletejanie1215 AT excite DOT com
Chey - I've always written contemporaries. My favorite genre.
ReplyDeleteJoder, this is my first time working with Donna and Erin, two of my favorite authors. BRAVA does such wonderful anthologies. I was fortunate to be a part of Unwrapped this year.
ReplyDeleteAs far as future projects, I'm working on a Barefoot William series. Beach, boardwalk, romance. The first book will be released next summer.

Hi, Kate, Erin, and Donna! You're three of my favorite contemporary authors and I'm thrilled to see that you've got a new anthology together! Can't wait to pick this up to make my holidays brighter ;)
ReplyDeleteDid you have a chance to read each other's stories beforehand? :)
Congrats, and so looking forward to picking this up!

SiNn, Our editor for Unwrapped gave us leeway, so we individually developed our Christmas-themed novellas. I've known Erin for a long time. I met Donna a year or so ago at Lori Foster's Readers Weekend.
ReplyDeleteflchen1, my editor shared the plots for both Erin's and Donna's novellas early on, but I hadn't read either one until this week. I enjoyed them both.
ReplyDeleteHi! How are you all? Congrats on your releases! So awesome! I have a question for all of you. If you could have one of your books turned into a movie, which one would you pick? What actors would you pick to play them? Thank you! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteshadowluvs2read(at)aol(dot)com
I'm actually over here getting in the mood for Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteSnow Angel is really speaking to me because being locked in a department store with all of the items that are desired is one fantasy that I used to talk about with friends.
Did the seasonal theme for the story come first or the characters?
lenikaye@yahoo.com
Congrats on your new release!!!! I love to read Christmas books so can't wait to get this one.
ReplyDeleteQuestion for all three authors, do you ever base books or real life events that may have happen to your or your friends?
lead[at]hotsheet[dot]com
Congratulations!! I love Christmas stories. In an anthology how do you decide the order of stories/authors?
ReplyDeletemarypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com
Hi Erin, I love your style of writing. Do you lead a crazy life yourself?
ReplyDeletedebby236 at gmail dot com
I wasn't aware tht Erin writes under the name of Erin Lynn. Looking forward to peeking at those books.
ReplyDeleteFall has just made it's push into my area and though I love the season for many things, my thoughts generally turn to Christmas. Christmas Anthologies are great since I tend to not get much time to settle down to read longer stories during the holiday season.
I love Christmas stories. When writing a short story like this, do you sometimes wish it was full length?

Congrats on the release; sounds like a fun read! What are the pros and cons of writing an anthology?
ReplyDeletebooks4me67 at ymail.com
Sorry I was unable to come back last evening and follow up...hope it's not too late now! Thanks to all again for the warm welcome and all the wonderful questions.
ReplyDeleteMy stories are all contemporary, usually on the funny/sexy side. My editor says they are "humor with heart...and a lotta heat." I think that works. :)
This was my first time in a group with Erin & Kate. I was happy to be invited to the party! We all come up with our ideas independently, and since the stories each stand alone, we don't really have to collaborate. I was just like you, an excited reader, when I finally got to read the other stories in the anthology! :)
As for writing novella length fiction, the challenge is to have a solid beginning-middle-end that is both satisfactory and plausible despite the shorter page count. I like the challenge because if pushes me to plot more tightly and succinctly, and makes me think about developing relationships in directions I might not otherwise explore.
I hope if you all get the chance to pick up a copy, that you enjoy it!
For those who asked about upcoming work, I'm launching a new series, The Cupcake Club Romance series, with SUGAR RUSH out 12/27 and SWEET STUFF out the very next month, 1/24/12. I just signed to do two more and couldn't be more excited. The most fun I've had in ages. You can check out the website to get more details. www.donnakauffman.com
Happy reading everyone!
Donna
