Celebrating A Hot New Release From Robin Leigh Miller

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we are celebrating Robin Leigh Miller's hot new release with Ellora's Cave.

SPLICED by Robin Leigh Miller

For ten years, Avery Easton has quietly lusted after her twin brother's best friend, Ridge Gates. When the cruel, cold hand of fate takes her brother's life, Avery and Ridge turn to each other in grief and share a night of ecstasy. But mind-blowing sex with the man of her dreams can't push away Avery's reality.

Violent and terrifying events have followed her brother's body home and introduced Avery to another man...one who's willing to give her everything she needs. And then there's the secret she harbors that could tear her and Ridge apart even as it connects them for the rest of their lives.

A promise on the battlefield led Ridge straight into the arms of the woman he knows he has no business being with, but can't stay away from. If he fails to come to terms with his broken body and Avery's revelations, he could lose her forever - if not to another man, then to the violence that brought Ridge and Avery together.

Robin Leigh Miller resides in central Pennsylvania with her husband, three children, German Shepard Tae' and mutt hound Bailey. She now lives a quiet, subdued life in comparison to her younger years of dirt track racing in stock cars. An adrenaline junky, these days she enjoys putting her characters through their paces.

Action, adventure and a touch of paranormal can be found in her books. "Enter a world where anything can happen...and usually does" is her motto and reflects her writing style. Sometime the mundane can become insane. Take a walk on the wild side and join her heroins as they muttle through the twists and turns life throws at them. And of course, there's always the hunky guy to catch them when they fall.

I've read some of the incredible reviews your getting for it and I know you must be thrilled!!! I know the blurb has me going nuts wanting to find out what's going on - lol!

Can you tell us a bit about SPLICED and about the new release you have coming up later this month with EC's newest line?

Hope the new book is a huge success for you - and with the 1/2 off sale at ARe, I'm sure it will be! http://www.allromanceebooks.com/product-spliced-657360-144.html

  2. wow this sounds really good. Congrats on the new release.

What was your first impression of the cover? And do you think a cover sells the book?

  3. Hi, Robin! Congrats on Spliced! It sounds like a winner of a story! The blurb touches on several elements I find intriguing--the brother's best friend, some very mysterious sounding secrets, and Avery herself... did anything in particular inspire this story?

    Is this a standalone?

DeNita, thanks for the link--going to add this one to my cart now!

  4. Hi Robin...

Your story sounds fab. Do you develope your characters fully before you write your stories or to you let them evolve as you write or perhaps a combo of both?

I am a native Central Pennsylvanian. Born in Harrisburg, grew up in Etters, then moved to South Central PA. Now I live in Central Washington.

  5. Hey everyone. Sorry it took so long to respond. Real life called and I had to work this morning. Now, let's get to the good stuff.

Yes, DeNita, I am beyond thrilled with the reader reviews coming in for Spliced. I actually made people cry! I couldn't believe it. Is it wrong to be thrilled over making people shed tears?

Spliced is about a set of twins, Avery and her brother Cale who share a mental connection and what happens when her brother dies and her connection "splices" together with his best friend, who also happens to be the man Avery is in love with.

As if the poor woman doesn't have enough on her plate, part of the war follows her brother's body home and Avery is going to pay for Cale's actions.

    I hope everyone enjoys it!

  6. elaing8, thanks for stopping by.
I LOVE the cover. It gives you a sense of it being war time without blasting you in the face with it.

I know you aren't supposed to judge a book by its cover, but let's be honest. WE DO! (at least I do) I like my covers sexy, but not over the top. I think this one is perfect.

    Thanks again for stopping!

  7. flchen1, Good Afternoon!

This is a stand alone story and was meant to be one story, but readers are calling for a tale involving a secondary character and I do believe I can do that :)

I can't say exactly what inspired me to write this story, but it took almost a year. There are scenes that I HAD to have perfect and if you read the book, you'll understand why.

  8. Hi Lyn! Hey, we were practically neighbors. Harrisburg is only two hours away from me.

I do develope my characters before I start writing, but that's not saying they don't change slightly as the story progresses.

I can't sit down and just write. I have to know what type of person I'm dealing with before I can do dialog. That's just me.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  10. Oh, and I wanted to tell everyone about my release hitting the cyber shelves next week on the 11th.

Less Talk, More Action will release under a new men's line at Ellora's Cave.

I'm giddy with excitement over this. Just to be clear, this is a hot story with no romance in it at all. NONE! These stories are told from the male point of view and mostly center around male fantasy or how they'd like a relationship to go. If you know any men in your life who like to read, send them to Ellora's Cave.

  11. Thank you ilona! If you stop by Ellora's Cave you can read a few reader reviews and see what other's are saying.

  12. Greetings from Northeast Philadelphia! Wow - what a story - I was melting just reading the summary - lots of cool questions - and answers! - here - my question is not directly related to this story, but I have always been interested in when and how authors came to that point in their lives where they "knew" that that was what they wanted to do with their lives!

A Happy and Healthy 2012 to you!

  15. What a great question, Felicia! As a kid I was always making up stories to entertain myself. I didn't tell them to anyone else, just kept them in my mind on long road trips or while doing chores. It wasn't until about five years ago, after reading through about 4 boxes of books my mother was getting rid of, that story ideas started generating again.

Well, I wrote one down called Black Smoke. My hubby encouraged me to send it out. "What's the worst that can happen. They say no," he told me.

So I researched how and where to send it out and next thing I know I'm signing a contract and I've begun my writing career.

I love to read, and will read just about anything. Reading sparks my imagination and if I don't get it down on screen, well, I go a little nuts. You know that saying about voices in your head, yeah, mine get nasty if I don't bring them to life.

    Thanks for the question!

  16. flchen1, if he reads one, regardless of who wrote it, be sure to leave a comment and rating so the author knows if it works or not. We're writing some what blind here and until we know how our work is recieved, we don't know what to improve on.

    Thanks!

  17. I'm having so much fun with this, I thought I'd give you another little taste of the book. Enjoy!

As the plane pulled up and the door lowered to the ground, Ridge stepped into the light and brought his body to attention. Those assigned to removing the fallen from the plane boarded. The chaplain and major general took their posts and the color guard assembled.
Ridge had often heard the phrase “the silence was deafening” but had never truly understood it until now. It seemed the Earth herself had taken pause to show respect. When the first flag-draped transfer container appeared at the mouth of the plane his heart clenched. Gasps and faint sobs sifted through the night air from families.
Ridge shot a glance at Avery and cursed himself once again for being such a piece of shit. His pride in her, however, grew by the second. While others lowered their heads and sagged in their grief, she stood so tall and dignified. A beautiful, elegant statue any man would be pleased to have honor him.
In perfect, concise steps the honor guard carried the returning soldiers to the tarmac and placed the containers on a red carpet. A three-second salute was given for each anonymous warrior. Identification would come later in the mortuary as they were prepared to be released to their families. Names didn’t really matter at this point. They were all someone’s brother, father or son and so they belonged to everyone.

  21. Debby, the thought has been buzzing around in my head. Uncle Walt needs a story. I just can't seem to nail down a plot I'm comfortable with. Stay tuned....

    Thanks for stopping.

  22. Hi Robin, you are a new author for me and always looking for new authors and books to check out. The book sounds great and would love to win and read.
My questions for you are: Any favorite authors or books you recommend? Also if you could write any genre what would you choose?
Thanks for the chance to win

  23. Chrisbails: Thanks for stopping. I would recommend you scan the authors at Ellora's Cave. I've found dozens of new authors I read now. You can look by genre or theme. You name it, it's there.

And I do pretty much write in any genre that tickles my fancy. Most of my stories have elements of paranormal, without it being over the top. Contemporary and I've written three fantasy stories for Silver Publishing that did very well.

See, it depends on where my mind is at the time what genre I'll write in. I don't do historical, probably will never touch that one, but I'm open to all the others.

    Have a great 2012!

  24. Congrats on the new release Robin! I can't imagine how terrible the heroine must feel about losing her brother but wanting his best friend at the same time.
