Celebrating A Sexy New Sci Fi Fairy Tale From Sandra Sookoo

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating a sexy sci fi fairy tale from Sandra Sookoo.

FRACTURED by Sandra Sookoo

Major Rick Keenan has a difficult mission: repair his broken shuttle, rescue a missing crew member and get off a near-dead planet. Angry that the U.S. is discontinuing the space program, he wants to find a discovery that will revise the government's position. Unfortunately, that discovery might just kill him, not to mention put his libido, on a quick launch sequence.

Marin is one of the last of her people. Forced to flee to the planet in her childhood, she's kept herself hidden away in darkness, safe in a castle-like fortress, only coming out when she needs to feed--from human blood. Convinced she'll never fit in, she shuns all contact, yet taking Rick hostage as a food source chips away at her perceptions even as he ignites her desire.

Though their differences threaten to tear them apart, their humanity binds them together. In a world where only the strong and determined survive, does a happily ever after stand a chance?

Sandra Sookoo is a writer of romantic fiction. Her portfolio includes historical, contemporary, sci-fi and paranormal romances. She loves to blend genres and spice them up and often times will add humor as well.

After catching the writing bug at the young age of ten, she’s gone on to grow her unique writing style. She’s a regular contributor for the Paranormal Romantic's blog and has a great time keeping things interesting at the Believing is Seeing blog.

When not immersed in creating new worlds and interesting characters, Sandra likes to read, bake and travel. Her favorite place to spend vacation hours is Walt Disney World. It’s where dreams come true and the soul can play. That suits her just fine. Writing is her ultimate dream job.

  1. Good morning Sandra and super congrats on the new release!! I love Beauty and the Beast Tales and this one sounds great with the sci fi twist!

Tell us all about the new book and what else you've been up to - I know you're busy!

Enjoy your party and best of luck with FRACTURED - Hope it's a bestseller for you!

  2. Thanks for having me here today!

Fractured came about because I wanted to put a different spin on the Beauty and the Beast tale. It also combines another fairy tale...but you'll have to read it to see if you can guess :-) I also didn't want the Beast to stop being who they were, but live with it.

And yeah, I'm busy. Right now, I'm alternating writing the first of a new contemporary series and my 4th re-imagined fairy tale.

  7. Hi Terri :-)

Is it easy switching genres? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It takes a couple of days to assimilate myself into another genre. My favorite genre to read is cozy mysteries. To write? I love any sort of romance.

  8. Hi Joanne! Thanks for being a blog follower (oops which reminds me I forgot to blog today) I try to make Believing is Seeing fun for everyone :-)

  9. Hi Ilona :-) I'm a big Beauty and the Beast fan too. I thought the twist on this one was fun :-)

  10. Congrats on your release Sandra! I hope all goes well!

  11. Congrats on your new release!
Do you work on more than one book at a time?

  12. Hi!

    Congratulations on your newest release!

Do you keep a writing schedule or do you go with the flow? In another month or so, I want to go back to work on my book and I know some authors don't get out of their chair until they have reached a certain word count.

  13. Hi Carrie. :-) Thanks for coming by!

  14. Hi Tamara :-) Do I work on more than one book at a time? Normally, I don't like to, but as of right now, I'm writing two novellas at the same time. I'll do a chapter in one then switch and do a chapter in the next lol

  15. Hi Dreamer :-) Yes, I have a schedule. I write during certain days of the week, and try to get in 2K a day. sometimes I hit that mark easier than others :-)

  16. Hi Sandra, How do you map out your worlds? How do you keep it all straight?

  17. Hi Debby :-) How do I keep my worlds straight? It's a bit easier for me because I write across a few genres; therefore, I don't have multiple same-genre series :-) I do keep detailed notes though.

  18. Ooh, I do like Beauty and the Beast stories, and love the twist it sounds like this one has! Did I see properly that this is part of a series? Are there a set number in mind? What can we look forward to next?

  19. Hi Fedora. The Silver Slippers line is an imprint of Liquid Silver Books. I had a story release in that line last December called Wishful Thinking (which was a retelling of Rumpelstiltskin). Fractured is my next and I have another contracted. I'm not sure of any of the other titles in the line :-)

  20. Interesting, you say this is a twist on Beauty and the Beast. I am really intrigued to find out the other fairy tale you used. Thanks for the awesome giveaway.

  21. Hi Jen. Yes, B & TB is my favorite fairy tale, but in the final product, my editor pointed out I'd included another fairy tale as well. :-)

  22. I enjoy reading reimagined fairy tales. I prefer HEA even if the situation is not traditional.
