LOVE THOSE BROAD SHOULDERS by Cheryl Dragon
Pete and Chris live and work in Chicago's Boystown, a gay community where pride and same-sex love is a way of life. Aiming to boost his career at his uncle's tattoo shop, Pete enters the ink he's doing on muscleman Chris into a local contest.
However, to bare his body for the crowd, Chris wants a chance at more than friendship with the sexy artist. At minimum, Chris demands a real date - and hopes he'll get dessert.

Pete doesn't mix business with pleasure. His rules are clear but Chris is out to break every single one and win Pete's heart and body. The sex and ink are hot but Pete knows it'll catch up to him. However, since he's doing the work for free, that means Chris isn't really a customer anymore...

Love Those Broad Shoulders is my little show of love for Chi-town:) Boystown is the oldest officially recognized gay community. rainbow flags fly year round and its a safe place for GLBT etc...
ReplyDeleteI wanted to set a book here and this was the perfect idea. Friends to lovers who work and live in the community where everyone is in everyone's business. It's a small town feel with a gay theme.
My best Boystown true story is a friend wanted to go to a certain piano bar for her 30th birthday. So we went, 5 straight girls and a couple straight guys. Now a lot of bars are mixed and straights mix in fine, but we stood out....we actually got asked by the guy on stage what was the occasion:) No hassle, but a lot of gay clubs want to make sure straights aren't there to cause trouble because Boystown is a safe haven...
so i hope you enjoy the story, if you've been to chicago or not...it's a lot of fun.
and if you're coming to Chicago for the RT convention in April...you might want to check out Boystown:)
2012?? hmmm...
ReplyDeleteI'd say i've got MORE going on in 2012.
At least one title a month will be coming out from Resplendence Publishing.
Be on the lookout:
Jan 18th Renee's High School Reunion (m/m/f/)
Feb 22nd Back in Dreamland (m/m/m/m/f) (book 2 of the 7th Kind series)
Plenty more to come and I'm working on a new concept that could be a series...
and then maybe some mainstream ideas;) who knows!!
thanks Deborah! plenty of muscles and ink:)
ReplyDeletesounds like a great read and with that cover i gotta buy it :)

I love your books and will definitely have to get this ne. The first question that came to mind is...If you could have any paranormal Power..which one would you choose?
ReplyDeletemiztik_rose@yahoo.com
Sounds like an awesome read! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteMy question: which paranormal power/creature is your favorite?
rachelsboys@gmail.com
I love all your books. My question is where do you get your ideas on your books?
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful New Year!
klmc_37@yahoo.com
Congrats on the new release.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read it.
What 3 words would you use to describe both Pete and Chris?
elaing8(at)netscape(dot)net
thanks Regina, i had fun with them:)
ReplyDeletehi mary,.....hmmm could i be a witch and start with freezing people and move up as i grow?? i'm thinking charmed there:)
ReplyDeleteif i only had one, probably the ability to move things with my mind. that'd be cool and always useful:)
favorite paranormal creature??
ReplyDeletethe dragon! lol... i don't write about dragons but i do love them! powerful and magical.
where do i get my ideas?
ReplyDeletei have so many ideas that show up out of nowhere that i can't keep up with them all!!
it's just part of being a writer. i writer stories i'd want to read. i entertain myself and hopefully others like it too.
it might be a form of ADD or something, or how one copes with it as an adult. the ideas can flood my brain and i spend an hour making notes so one day i can get to that one:)
Pete and Chris are loyal, intense, and protective.
ReplyDeletethey have a lot in common and that can cause conflicts as much as differences;)
thanks for the question!
Hi Cheryl, you are a new author for me and always looking for new books to check out. This sounds like a great book. What a great prize.
ReplyDeleteMy question for you are: Any favorite authors? Any favorite books to recommend? and if you could write any genre what would you write?
Thanks for the giveaway and the chance to win.

My question is how different is it to write m/m from m/f?
ReplyDelete1_trouble AT msn DOT com
hi chris! my fav authors? brynn paulin and cherise sinclair are fab!
ReplyDeletefav books? that's hard...and you could mean mine or other peoples..LOL!
i love what i write now. erotic romance, lots of menage + and m/f with light bdsm. if i crossed into mainstream, i'd probably do mysteries and some paranormal fun stuff!
i do write in a lot of erotic romance subgenres. check out www.cheryldragon.com to see all my titles available. lots to pick from:)
hey Donna!
ReplyDeletem/m vs. m/f really isn't that different for me. the m/m most erotic rom pubs put out is geared at women readers who want the fantasy of men talking and lots of feelings yet they're hot and have the muscles and super sex.
it's not like two real gay men. men are men and they're always the way we want them to be!
so the big difference is the sex and making sure the men are romantic with each other without being wimpy or unappealing.
i don't write a ton of m/m. i like it but i prefer to put m/m in my menage + stories so they're part of a bigger group situation that does involve a woman.
but the right m/m idea is irrestitable:) these guys were!
Hi Cheryl,
ReplyDeletei am in some serious cover love here! it's gorgeous and the excerpt was awesome, i can't wait to read the rest of the book and see what happens.
congratulations on the new book and on the #1 status for DOD.
have a great weekend.
i have almost all of Gail Koger's books and i am a huge fan of hers, but "The Warlord's Comeuppance" is probably my favorite.
i loved the characters and the humor that had me laughing out loud.
Good Luck Gail, you deserve to win.

Tattoos can be very hot.
ReplyDeleteWhat would constitute too many tattoos for you?
marypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com
i think strategic tattoos are hot. ones that have meaning and show off the body part.
ReplyDeletewhen there are so many tattoos they all run together and take over.
a lone celtic band is way hotter than a whole sleeve of ink!!
This book sounds great!
ReplyDeleteDid you say at least one title a month? You must be very busy! Where do you like to vacation? (If you ever find time)
chey127 at hotmail dot com
one book a month. most are novella length, some short stories...so not full length novels:)
ReplyDeletefor vacations, i like las vegas. tons of stuff to do! i like the desert landscape and you can always find a good show. i'm not much of a gambler but the casinos have shopping and attractions to see. i never get bored there! i mean an m&m store and a coca cola store:) that's an afternoon of nostalgia shopping fun...
Hi Cheryl, Sounds like a great book. Do you have any inks?
ReplyDeletedebby236 at gmail dot com
thanks Debby!
ReplyDeleteactually, i have really sensitive skin and while i'd love to have a small one....i'm worried about an ugly reaction and it not healing right.
and after seeing a friend get a huge butterfly done taking over her back...and the blood, it made me think. i'm a bleeder. and i don't like seeing my own blood:/
The intimate act of getting body work done sounds like a good way to show the developing relationship between characters. Is that one of the reasons you chose the subject?
ReplyDeletelenikaye@yahoo.com
hi leni!
ReplyDeletedefinitely... especially with a friends to lovers story...it gave them a lot contact and time together to feel that attraction and get close;)
Wow, Cheryl--congrats on this latest! Love that you've got such a hot backlist to catch up on :)
