Celebrating Zenobia Renquist's New Christmas Release

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog we are celebrating the release of STRIPPING CHRISTMAS, a sexy new Christmas fantasy from Zenobia Renquist (aka D. Renee Bagby).

Renee is a military brat turned military wife who is currently stationed in Hawaii with her husband and two cats.

Whether writing as D. Renee Bagby or Zenobia Renquist, she is a world-builder. She loves inventing new cultures and shaping their histories and laws because it beats researching the existing ones.

Her stories span the fantasy gamut but she dabbles in sci-fi and contemporary from time to time. While her main characters tend to be of different races, she doesn't let skin color rule or limit her stories. For her, it's all about how much she can torture her characters so they earn their happily-ever-after ending.

The rules are all new and pre-conceived notions will only slow you down, so when reading Renee's stories, she asks only one thing -- Leave Your Reality Behind.

STRIPPING CHRISTMAS by Zenobia Renquist

Alex is firmly on the naughty list and she wants Santa to join her.

Alex thought she was going to a job, instead she ends up marrying the heir to the title of Santa Claus.

The vows have been said and cannot be taken back, even if Alex isn't the ideal bride Kris was hoping for to re-energize the powers of the House of Kringle.

But, Alex is about to teach him that being a little naughty -- or a lot -- can go a long way.

  1. Hey Zenobia!! Super congrats on the new release! Sounds great - what a fun idea, how did you ever come up with it?

Tell us all about the new book and what you've been up to.

And how is Christmas in Hawaii? I'm not jealous now, but ask me on January 2nd! LOL

Hope you enjoy your special day and hope the new book is a big hit for you!

And wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a great 2012!

  2. Congrats on the new release! I don't know what to ask so I am just going to go with what does Santa think of this book?

    Happy holidays.

  3. The son of Kris Kringle I can only imagine...but I know I will never view Santa Claus in the same light after I read this story. Whooee!
Kudos, on the release. I hope you have a Happy Hawaiian (a little envy right there)Christmas.

  4. Hi Denita!

As always, thanks for holding this event for me. :D

I blame Margaret Riley, the owner of Changeling Press, for this story idea. She sent out a call back in September for Christmas-themed stories, but wanted something more than hookers in naughty Mrs. Claus outfits. Of course, my mind jumped from hookers in naughty Mrs. Claus outfits to strippers in... well you get the idea. It snowballed from there. :P

I have been up to writing. I'm trying to get lots of novellas and a few novels finished in 2012. You'll be the first to find out how well I do.

Christmas in Hawaii is a little weird. I've lived on the East Coast for most of my life so I'm used to cold Christmases. I'm not complaining about the lack of cold. I'm loving the lack of cold. But it's kind of hard to get in the Christmas spirit when people are walking around in shorts.

However, for this great locale and peaceful feeling, I'll deal.

  5. Donna - Thanks for coming out. If it's the Santa from the story, he might wonder how I found out. :P If it's the traditional Santa... well... I'm not quite sure what he would think. Probably something along the lines of me getting coal this Christmas for being oh so very naughty in only 7k words.

  6. Ayana - Thanks for stopping by and the kudos. I'm pretty sure no one will look at Santa the same way after seeing what the authors of Changeling Press did to him.

  7. Congrats on the release!!! What's your favorite part of writing?

  8. Green - Thanks! My favorite part of writing is typing "The End," as it were. I love finishing a book. I'm a pantser, which means I don't know where the book is going until I write it. So finishing the book means finding out the ending and seeing how everything worked out. Weird, but it works for me.

    Thanks for coming out.

  11. Raenesya - Yes. Yes. I'm getting there. I went through a bit of a block, but I'm back on the writing horse. I should have the next CE installment to my editor soon-ish. Hopefully before the month is out, though I'm not sure when it'll release.

Fedora - Since I'm in Hawaii, the hubby and I are all about staying put. We'll probably head up to the North Shore so he can see the sea turtles (the like to sun on the beach) and get snow cones from the best place in the world. It should be illegal to make snow cones that good. Yum.

    Thanks both for coming out.

  14. June - I'm actually hoping to get some exercise clothes. It just occurred to me that I don't have any, which is really annoying when I want to get out in this lovely weather and go walking. Jeans are too heavy (though that's a form of exercise in and of itself) and they are a pain to keep washing over and over. It's a weird Christmas gift but it's what I want.

Dani - Glad you enjoyed the excerpt.

    Thanks both for coming out.

  15. When might you be back on the North American mainland? (it did dsayd, "ask a question":)

  16. Hi Paula - And I have no clue. It's up to the military. We're thinking 4-5 years, but anything can shorten or lengthen that time. I plan to enjoy it, however long it is.

  22. Hello Zenobia,

Congrats on your new release, "Stripping Christmas", I really look forward to reading your Book, as with any book you publish.

I have always wondered with Authors who wite under different Pen Names like yourself; D. Renee Bagby & Zenobia Renquist, do you even get a block when you are in the middle of writing a book under both names at the same time?

Thank you for the opportunity to enter your generous giveaway.

    Take Care & Mele Kalikimaka,

  24. Renee - Hiya. I'm glad you enjoy my books. To answer your question, I often bounce between several books at once. My muse is flighty like that. So going between names doesn't cause a block of any kind. It's normally outside things putting stress on me that cause writers' block.

Tammy - Thanks for coming out. I hope you enjoy the book.
