Celebrating A Paranormal Anthology Featuring A New Story By Jacquelyn Frank

Today we're celebrating the release of NOCTURNAL, a fantastic anthology featuring new stories from Jacquelyn Frank, Kate Douglas, Jess Haines and Clare Willis.

A native New Yorker, currently living in North Carolina, Jacquelyn Frank loves animals, specifically cats, to a point of insanity. She loves her boys like she would honest to goodness children.

This NYT and USA today bestselling author of The Nightwalkers Series wanted to be an author since she was barely into puberty. It was those sexy teen romances where the first kiss was as far as they went. Heh. She thought that was the be all and end all until she got her hands on an introductory copy for a new series launching called Loveswept and got her first taste of sizzle. She's been writing it and gobbling it up ever since!

Although she's branching out from the Nightwalkers, not to fear, they will always be a part of her. It's simply a matter of where the muse is taking her.

  3. From my point of view, I don't know how JF is doing all of this! I've had three releases this summer--Wolf Tales 10 in July, HellFire last week and Nocturnal tomorrow--and it's making me nuts. How Jacquelyn's doing a conference on top of that is scary!

I heard about the anthology when my editor contacted my agent asking if I'd be interested. I'd just finished writing DemonFire, the first book in my new series (In my case, since I'd been doing erotic romance for years, it was a big difference because the Zebra imprint meant I had to cut BACK on the sex!) I wasn't sure what I was going to write, only that it would be in my new world of The Demonslayers, but obviously I agreed. I was absolutely thrilled to share an anthology with JF since I was already a fan of her Nightwalkers.

The story, Crystal Dreams, didn't so much come to me as the name of the heroine--Marigold Moonbeam Schwartz. Could NOT get that name out of my head, so I decided to let her tell the story to me. I discovered that Mari's mother was a witch, something Mari figured was all just a scam to give her crystal shop in Evergreen, CA a boost. What Mari doesn't realize is that she's inherited a lot of her mother's abilities, something that comes in handy when demons target both Mari and the shop she's come home to run for her parents.

It could get ugly, but an absolutely gorgeous man (ALL my heroes are gorgeous--so much more fun to write them that way!) shows up to save the day, wielding a crystal sword and saving Mari's life.

Not only did Mari tell me the entire tale in great detail, the girl talks fast! I was amazed at how quickly this one came together, but sometimes the muse presents a writer with a gift, and Crystal Dreams was mine.

Do hope you enjoy it. I've read JF's story, The Phoenix Project, but haven't had time to finish the other two by Jess and Clare. Looking forward to both of them.

  8. a big congrats to the 4 of you!!

Should we feel sorry for Amara:
    yes, because of the experiments
no, because of her companion being naked along with her.
