Celebrating a Kinky New Sci Fi From Susanne Saville

Today at our Cyber Launch Party Blog,  we're celebrating a kinky new sci fi BDSM romance from Susanne Saville.

WICKED BELOVED by Susanne Saville

Though warned of the Tellurian slave’s uncooperative nature, Guild Assassin Dzer-Jin Vonn is intrigued when the alluring redhead promises to obey him and be the best slave ever. Her prior owner misused her but did not quench her spirit; her tongue cuts with amusing precision.

Abducted from Earth by aliens, ripped from life as she knows it, she gives her new master only the label “slave” to call her by. She’s landed in a culture where violence is foreplay. Yet her sexy master stands apart from his peers; he shows compassion.

When Dzer-Jin is challenged to slice her skin for public titillation, she agrees to the display with no bonds but trust. He earns status for her obedience but she frets he’ll tire of his “pet” if she doesn’t service his sexual appetites. The passion seething between them terrifies her. Is her desire to escape to Earth stronger than her need to serve Dzer-Jin’s lust—or her own?

Susanne enjoys caffeine - especially in coffee and tea, traveling, horseback riding, reading, and John Barrowman. Not necessarily in that order. She has a Master's Degree in History and a second Master's Degree in Library Science. The casual observer might suppose that this primarily qualifies her to dispense fries at fast-food restaurants. (Just kidding.)

Ms. Saville has worked as a Reference Librarian in California and as a History Instructor at Georgia Military College. She has also been interviewed by Dog Fancy as an expert on the pug dog's place in history. She currently resides in New England and, along with writing, delights in researching, spending quality time with her cats, and eating fries at fast-food restaurants.

  2. Very intriguing, Susanne! Is this novel a standalone? I really like scifi--this is an exciting twist! Have you always wanted to be a writer? :)

    1. Yes, it's completely standalone. :)

And yes, I've always wanted to be a writer, as far back as I can remember. I won a writing prize when I was 7. My family were really hoping for an accountant, though. ;)

  3. Wow even the blurb is smokin'. Do you miss being down in Milledgeville?

    1. My editor wrote that - she is wonderful! I couldn't have done a blurb half so well.

Everyone once in a while I miss it - Georgia had beautifully kept roads. A pleasure to drive around. Massachusetts has potholes loosely strung together with asphalt.

      But I'm a winter girl - I love snow! :)

    2. I grew up in NY and now live near Macon. I know what you mean about the roads. You can have the snow. Send me a picture. I'll take the rainy winters of the south any day.

    3. OOoo! Rain is fun, too. I like weather. Too much sun is boring. ;)

  4. Good morning and thank you! :D

Let's see... well, first off, this release is different in that it is the most erotic of all my stories, and it's the first with a BDSM theme.

It's also the first sci-fi romance I've published.

And it's the first work of mine that was released almost simultaneously with the paperback and audio version.

I have an interview with the narrator of the audio book, who's quite hero material himself, on my blog.

I really hadn't thought of using the world again, until one of the book's reviewers said she'd like to see more. So... it could happen. ;)

  5. What actually decided you on writing a 'kinky Science Fiction' book?

Now this I want. I love erotica with a touch of BDSM and I love Science Fiction and you have combined them together for me in Wicked Beloved.

Guess I better add it to my wishlist in case I don't get to win

    1. Whoo-hoo!! ;)

It wasn't a deliberate decision, actually. I like sci fi romance but I'd not yet written one and this idea popped up...and then went down a path I don't normally travel.

I bounce around genres a lot - historical, paranormal, sweet, erotic, and now sci fi. Just whatever takes my fancy at the time. :)

  6. The blurb is interesting. Have not run across your books before. Do you work on more than one book at a time?

    1. Thank you!! :D

No, I try to focus on one book at a time. Although I do sometimes get ideas for other things in the middle and have to stop and sketch them out before returning to the work-in-progress.

      I write veerrryy slooooowly.

  7. Well you certainly found a fan here! I thoroughly enjoyed the book and the audiobook! Can you describe the collaboration process in choosing/working with a narrator?

  8. **hugs** Thank you so much!!! :D

Generally one listens to audition tapes to pick a narrator, but since I wanted Adam specifically (Because Of Reasons) I went directly to his agent.

Working with him was fantastic - other than telling him how the non-standard-English words were pronounced, he needed very little from me. And he absolutely nailed the reading of the lines, placing emphasis precisely where I heard it in my brain, etc.

I want him to be my narrator forever and ever now. ;)

Had I been in London, I could have gone into the studio and watched him record. I will forever lament that I don't live in London. *sniffle*

  10. Thanks!!

I didn't used to, no, but I can play them on my phone with the Audible app so I'm really getting into them now. Just listened to a Brother Cadfael read by Derek Jacobi. Whoot! Love him. :)

Do you want the ebook or audiobook version?

In fact, as everyone was so great - ebooks for the rest of you, too! :D

    1. As I already have the ebook and audiobook (YOU ALL MUST GET THE AUDIO AS WELL), I certainly don't mind donating my copy to someone else that would like to read up on work. =]
