Celebrating LaVerne Thompson's First Paranormal

Today we're celebrating the release of LaVerne Thompson's first paranormal romance, LIVING ON THE EDGE.

LaVerne is the mother of two teenage girls, a wife, a former intellectual property attorney, a multi-published author, an avid reader and a writer of contemporary, fantasy, and sci/fi sensual interracial romances.

She is an award winning bestselling author, and is currently working on several projects. Since one child is now driving, she no longer has to shuttle her girls to and from school and their various activities, so technically she has more time to write. Which is why she also writes under her alter ego Ursula Sinclair. She can usually be found on online in either persona. Visit her website to read excerpts of her books or check out her blog to see excerpts of some of the stories she's currently working on or check out Ursula's website to see what she's up to.

LIVING ON THE EDGE by LaVerne Thompson

As one of the few female bounty hunters in the country and with a nickname like Edge, she enjoyed living on the edge and always got her man....one way or another. As an executioner for her shifter clan she was relentless, but finding a mate was not something on her radar, having to hunt him down and execute him even less so.

But could she trust her instincts?

Ethan Graves was a hunted man, not quite a man but a Leo of his kind. When he found out he was hunted by a sexy bounty hunter, he let himself be caught. He just had to convince her of his innocence before she killed him, then confess to wanting her as his mate.

But could he trust his instincts?

  6. Hi AI and Sherry-

I love the paranormal fantasy world and yes you will most definitely see more of this genre from me. I've always loved the concept of creating new worlds or new beings and will get more into that area.

You will also see more of the world of the Atrox again. LOL!

  9. Hi Linda,

Yes it does fit in more than one genre. It's a paranormal in that it involves a race of shapeshifters but there's also that fantasy element to it because I'm creating another world w/in a contemporary setting. And it's also a murder mystery. And let's face it how often is the person hunting the wanted man a woman with a name like Edge. LOL! And it's also in the interracial romance category but without racial conflict as an issue. Way too much other life threatening stuffs going on in Ethan's and Edge's lives for that to be even on their radar screens.

  10. Way to go LaVerne! You're great at Paranormal, you need to write more, especially with hot guys like this! LOL!

Your work is always edgy and there are always twists and turns that keep the reader on the edge. So this title is perfect in many ways.

  16. Hi Anne- Thank you. I love books with strong female characters too and have wanted to do one about a female bounty hunter for a long time. Eventually Edge was born.
Believe it or not her story unfolded for me when I was sitting in my hair dressers chair and she asked me how do I come up with my stories. I started telling her about how I wanted to write a story about a female bounty hunter and began to spin a tale for her and everyone in there. LOL!

But I think most of all it was just really cool writing about a female bounty hunter. LOL!

  28. I love the sound of this story and seeing a female bounty hunter that can kick butt. Stephanie Plum is fun, but I like seeing a totally competent hunter.
