Isabel "Stan" Stanley's mother has been hoping a man would fall in Stan's lap. But when a handsome spy dives through the sunroof of her car in a hail of bullets, Stan's sure this wasn't what momma had in mind. Bad guys beware. Stan's packing a glue gun and she knows how to use it... Sort of.

"Pauline Baird Jones' debut contemporary, Pig in a Park is a delightful madcap romp that will leave readers eagerly anticipating future works by this amazing new talent." Patricia Rouse, Romantic Times Columnist

"Pauline Baird Jones' humor is exquisite comic genius! Her characters are phenomenal and colorful as a rainbow. Move over James Bond!" Suzanne Coleburn, The Bells and Beaux of Romance

"...a remarkable new talent...Pauline Baird Jones and her hilarious novel PIG IN A PARK make their debut. Written in first person, this adventurous romp is a 14 karat gem, and I for one would love to see more from this vastly amusing author." Four & 1/2 Stars from Romantic Times

"A romantic suspense, action-packed mystery, or a sizzling romance, the choice is yours because PIG IN THE PARK is all three, and more... The characters are many, varied, and unusual. The plot has as many twists as a kitten-snarled ball of yarn, but Ms. Jones manages to smooth out every kink, unsnarl the impossible, and deliver a book that is absolutely engrossing, engaging, and balm for your funny bone." 1. Morning Pauline!!!

I can't wait to read this book!! The reviews are fantastic and it sounds like such a fun read - love the glue gun!

Tell us a bit about it and if it was going to ever be a movie, who would you love to have play the leads?

Best of luck with the release - so glad it's available again! Hope it is your biggest seller yet!

  2. Hi Pauline! So glad this was re-released. I will be picking up a digital copy today. From reading the description, I'm sure that I will easily fall in love with this romantic comedy.

Oh, and I love a woman who can wield a glue gun too! Nothing is sassier than scalding someone's skin with hot liquid glue!

What was the inspiration for the name change?

Congrats on the re-release, and best of luck to ya! -- Zee

  3. Good morning, DeNita and thanks so much for hosting my big release party! Woot! LOl!

Back when I was writing it, I pictured Bruce Boxleitner as Kel,but he's probably a bit old for the part now. Wow, now I feel old. LOLOL!

I didn't have an actress in mind for Stan, so not sure who it would be. Hmmm...

Many thanks for the good wishes! I know this book was one of my bestsellers before it because unavailable. What I love about this release is that I had a chance to revisit the story. The original version was 500 pages. I couldn't find that, but did find a version that ran about 300. I added some of that back into the story (I'd cut and cut for this market and that) and then wrote an epilogue so it could end a bit more neatly. (I'd toyed with idea of writing a sequel, but it didn't happen.) So there is new content in this re-release!

thanks! (I'm not excited at all, am i? LOL)

  11. Did you add a new epilogue because there was something you wanted to say in the first release that you didn't get a chance to work out until now?

  15. wow, had a couple of errands to run and the party heated up! Thanks so much everyone!

Q: did I add an epilogue because I had more to say?

Yes, if you read the old version, the story ends, not on a cliff hanger, because I don't do those, but it does just kind of end. I thought I'd go back write the next chapter, so left it resolved, but open? Does that make sense? The epilogue is later, let's the reader see how things worked out. It was probably as much for me as anyone. LOL! Once I started re-editing and stuff, I wanted to "finish" their story a bit more neatly. :-)

Hope that helps without giving too much away for those who haven't read!

  16. Hi, Pauline! What a great excerpt! Action aplenty and sparky romance--"The Spy Who Kissed Me" would be a terrific movie! I always enjoy visiting your website. So many fun and interesting links, and the recipes are wonderful!

    re: old title/new

Pig in a Park was catchy and people tended to remember it....sort of.

I'd get a lot of, "Is that the pig in a poke book?" LOL!I couldn't even complain, because it was a play on that phrase.

And it launched a flood of toy/ceramic pigs into my house. On my blog, a few years ago, I got them all together and took a picture. Just this week, my sister sent me a "when pigs fly" saying on a stand a two candy bars with pig in the name (not sure why, because the chocolate had nothing to do with pork. LOL!)

  28. This book sounds like a lot of fun. And if she can handle a glue gun w/o harming herself or anyone/thing else, she's better then me! I always burn something (usually me)!
I think both titles are catch-y, and hope the re-release does great!

  41. Hi Pauline,

Chiming in late to the party, but I'm here to offer you big congratulations on the re-release of your book. You are a new-to-me author and I have to say I would be more inclined to check out this book under this new title than the old. Good change there IMHO. The book does sound very good and well worth checking it out!
