Celebrating Sandra Sookoo's New Historical Shifter Romance

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating Sandra Sookoo's sexy new historical shifter romance!

A WOLFISH TANGLE by Sandra Sookoo

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

While the War Between the States grips America, Franklin Garrett fights his own battle. A wolf shifter, he successfully manages Rutledge Estates, but he's a failure at romance. When an old family foes resurfaces and threatens his idyllic life, he sends his cousin Grey and his wife Lyndal away for their safety. Unfortunately, a different sort of peril lands right on his doorstep, stirring his protectiveness and sense of duty.

Caroline Harrison's brother is detained in Camp Morton, a Union war prison in Indianapolis. Led by intuition, she arrives at Rutledge Estates, where she's promptly kissed by an inebriated Franklin. Her personal desires collide with her devotion to her family and her personal promises, yet Southern charm will see her through. Though she's had enough of arrogant men, she needs his help to spring her brother.

When the man who decimated the Rutledge wolf pack shows up, both Franklin and Caroline must figure out what's more important in life—family or love?

  1. Happy Release Day and super congrats on the new release Sandra!!

For those not familiar with your Wolfish Series, can you tell us a bit more about it and how the books fit together? And you have another one coming out around Christmas too in this series, right? Can you tell us about that?

I love Civil War Historicals, so I can't wait to read this one. How much research did you do for this series?

I hope you enjoy your cyber launch party today and I hope your new book is a huge bestseller for you!

    Enjoy your release day!

  2. Thanks for having me today :-)

I'm still waiting on buy links everyone. Hopefully I'll have them tonight.

My Wolfish series started with A Wolfish Scandal. It's a tongue-in-cheek take on a historical version of the Bachelor...you know, if the bachelor was a wolf-shifter and there was a disenchanted Civil War soldier involved LOL

In my new one, A Wolfish Tangle, we're treated to Franklin's story. He was a secondary character in the first book. The poor man's just been dumped... and his life goes downhill from there. It also features a notorious Union prisoner camp located right in my city!

I had to do a fair amount of research for both books. Lots of facts to get straight and everything like that. It's fascinating stuff, really, and I've fallen in love with the time period.

I do have a short story (featuring one of the heroine's brothers from A Wolfish Tangle) coming out for the holidays. Love during the Civil War times was bittersweet. Hope you'll check it out!

    1. Thanks! My favorite thing to research for this book was Camp Morton. I had no idea the State Fairgrounds was once a Union prison camp. That's fascinating. There are a couple of buildings that still remain.

  4. Yankee, Rebel or Damn Yankee? I have yet to try this series although A Wolfish Scandal has been on my wish list for awhile.

    1. Well, the hero is originally from England so he doesn't really have an affiliation to either side, but the heroine is from Georgia and she's got plenty to say about the war since her brother's in the prison camp. :-)

    1. Interesting tidbit was women didn't wear hooped crinolines on a day to day basis. If they were working around the house, they wore a few petticoats in order to get that full line to their skirts. Still, I always pondered how women got any work done with all that skirting.

  6. HI Sandra! Congrats on your latest release. It sounds yummy! I love historical romance but this era is one I've not come across much.

One thing that's always amazed me is how writers come up with stories; me being a person with zero imagination. How DO you do it? (sighs with envy & much admiration)

    1. LOL I guess I have an excess of imagination and story telling ability. I just always ask myself the "what if" question :-)
