Celebrating A Brand New Fantasy Release From LaVerne Thompson

DRAGON'S HEART - STORY OF THE BRETHREN by LaVerne Thompson

Over a thousand years ago Draakar was forced to leave Earth, now he has no choice but to return. The dragon lord, whose world teeters on the brink of destruction, must find his truemate. The one woman with the power and love fated to save them all. The woman he left behind.

Maya Trent was abandoned on Earth, apparently human but so much more and unaware of her duel heritage. Once Draakar awakens her dragon within all she wants to do is kill him. Yet they must work together to save mankind as well as the brethren. But first Draakar has to convince her that the truemate bond between them is real, as is his love for her. She just has to believe in him.

LaVerne Thompson is the mother of two teenage girls, a wife, a former intellectual property attorney, a multi-published author, an avid reader and a writer of contemporary, fantasy, and sci/fi sensual interracial romances.

She is an award winning bestselling author, and is currently working on several projects. Since one child is now driving, she no longer has to shuttle her girls to and from school and their various activities, so technically she has more time to write. Which is why she also writes under her alter ego Ursula Sinclair. She can usually be found on online in either persona. Visit her website to read excerpts of her books or check out her blog to see excerpts of some of the stories she's currently working on or check out Ursula's website to see what she's up to.

  2. Hi DeNita thank you for having me. Dragon's Heart is near and dear to my heart. It really was a long time in coming. I always loved stories about dragons but they always somehow left me unsatisfied. I think it's because the hero/heroine had a dragon but they never turned into one. I kept waiting for that. When it didn't happen I began writing this work when my youngest was about 3. lol She's 16 now. Before I was ever published it won a writing competition but as I've grown as a writer I've made a few changes to it all for the better. And the world I created here actually started ideas for other stories. However, The Story Of The Brethren will be told over 3 books, Dragon's Heart is the first. I'm very excited about this.

And Jimmy Thomas on the cover tends to have that effect. lol But the cover artist Fiona Jayde did an awesome job bringing one of the scenes in the story to life.

    1. Hi Ilona and yes I've wanted to write about dragons from the first time I read a story about them. I couldn't get enough of them. There's just something both so dangerous yet majestic about them. How can you resist a dragon's roar? lol

    1. Oh yes. It's always been my favorite. I cut my eye teeth on the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Anne Mccaffrey and Melanie Rawn fed my love of dragons, Robert Jordon, Terry Brooks, Octavia Butler, Stobie Piel just some of my all time favorites. And loved Dune not so much the other books. But for hardcore military sci/fi nobody beats John Ringo. lol

  8. Hi LaVerne. You're a new author for me and I'm really excited about finding you. I love the idea for this new book of yours and I couldn't agree with you more. The few dragon shifter books I've read they are not dragons very often. Excited also to find out there will be two more books in the series. How long will we have to wait for the next one? I hate waiting ;)
