OPENING THE CAGE by BA Tortuga
Shifting Streams Series, Book Two
There’s something on the air. Something wild and dark and dangerous and it's coming for the Aspen Brook Clan.
Canyon's job is to protect the Clan, to help his twin brother, Mesa, keep their little family safe, secure, no matter what monsters are lurking in the Montana Mountains.
But there are whispers of a prophesied pair of wolves that have been found, a duo of white wolves that hold more power between them than anyone can guess.
When Granite, the guardian of the distant pack, comes to them, torn and bleeding, bringing the rest of the North Peak's destroyed clan with him, Canyon knows he has to go.
The pair he finds will change his life and the future of his entire clan.

BA Tortuga enjoys indulging in the shallow side of life, with hobbies that include collecting margarita recipes, hot tub dips, and ogling hot guys at the beach. A connoisseur of the perverse and esoteric, her days are spent among dusty tomes of ancient knowledge, or, conversely, surfing porn sites in the name of research.
Mixing the natural born southern propensity for sarcasm and the environmental western straight-shooting sensibility, she does her damnedest to produce mainstream fiction, literary erotica, and fine works of pure, unadulterated smut.
With characters ranging from supernatural demons to modern-day cowboys, alternative illustrated men to Victorian dandies, the addiction to history and atmosphere is everpresent, and laced through with sensual pleasure. BA's latest projects include werewolves, rodeo cowboys, and fistfighting rednecks.

Congrats on your release! Sounds great! Loving that cover too. Congrats again! And thanks for sharing with us! ;) Is it hard picking a title?
ReplyDeleteshadowluvs2read(at)gmail(dot)com
Shadow: Sometimes picking a title is a bear. In this case, it was a total breeze. :D
ReplyDeleteJoanne: My partner and I try to celebrate each new release together with a bottle of wine and a long game of Scrabble. :D
ReplyDeleteRegina: Right now there are 4 books planned in the series and the books don't absolutely have to be read in order, but they do intertwine, so, if I was reading them, I'd want to. :D
ReplyDeleteDonna: Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteFor those not familiar with your Shifting Streams series, can you tell us about it and how the books will fit together?
ReplyDeleteShifting Streams is a series about the Aspen Mountain Clan -- a clan of werewolves in Montana -- and their family's trials, tribulations, and love affairs. :D
The first book in the series, Climbing the Ladder, is about the clan Alpha, Mesa. Canyon, the hero in book two is Mesa's twin brother, and the clan Guardian. :D
You've been so busy - tell us what's up next for you and what you're working on now.
Right this second I'm working on edits for the second book in the Cereus series (m/m paranormal with Julia Talbot and Sean Michael) and on the second book in the Cowbell, Book and Candle series (Don't Mess with Hexes, m/m/f paranormal). :D
Congratulations on your latest release, it sounds great! That is a fantastic excerpt!
ReplyDeleteDo you have a scene in your mind that you haven't been able to fit into one of your stories yet?
schaballa(at)echoes(dot)net
Congratulations on the book! I like the characters' names. How did you come up with them?
ReplyDeletebn100candg(at)hotmail(dot)com
bn100: Honestly? I have no idea. They come to me named. The names always come first. :D
ReplyDeleteSusan: I have a bunch of scenes planned for other books that I haven't written, but none that I haven't planned to write. ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new release.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever sat back & thought WOW I never thought this would be my life?
marypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com
What was your biggest challenges in getting published??
ReplyDeleteCsdsksds(at)gmail.com
So this is book two? I've put it on my 'to-buy' list (although I prefer paperbacks). What is book one? How many books will be in this series? Have you written more books?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Lea Ellen {night owl in IL}

It sounds like you've written in a variety of genres. What all genres have you explored specifically? Are you looking into some new ones in the future. Congrats, BA!

Mary Belle: Every day I give thanks that this is my life and am constantly amazed by the fact that I get to live it. I'm a lucky woman.
ReplyDeleteRunner: When I started my career, m/m fiction (and m/m/f) wasn't popular at all. In fact, I started Torquere Press with my partner Julia, so I could get her novels and two of my dearest friends novels out into the world. :D
ReplyDeleteNight Owl: This is book two. Book one is Shifting Streams: Climbing the Ladder (m/m/f). Book three will be m/f and the story of Juniper, Mesa and Canyon's sister, while the fourth book will be m/m. :D Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLey: At heart, I am now and will always be a Western writer. I love my paranormals, but I imagine I will always return to the cowboys. :D
ReplyDeleteHow exciting, BA! Congrats on this new release and on the success of Torquere Press! How much of your time is writing and how much is overseeing Torquere these days? How exciting to see how beautifully it's all doing!
