All day today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog we're celebrating Tory Richards' sexy new romantic action thriller, THE MERCENARY WAY.
THE MERCENARY WAY by Tory Richards
Kidnapped and imprisoned, Sarah Reynolds needs all the help she can get--but soldier-of-fortune Clint Becker is just a different kind of danger.
When a ruthless gem smuggler mistakes Sarah for her best friend Susan, she's kidnapped and stashed on an island. Her only hope of rescue is Susan's cousin Clint--a man whose my-way-or-else attitude is as infuriating as his muscular body is distracting.
Clint, ex-Navy SEAL turned mercenary, desperately needs a vacation. Rescuing a kidnapped woman from an island paradise isn't what he had in mind. And when he encounters Sarah's sassy mouth and tempting ways, he soon realizes he's the one in trouble. Clint and Sarah elude her captors, but there's no escaping the attraction sizzling between them. With danger pursuing them, they have to learn to work together. But can an opinionated florist and a rugged mercenary ever find common ground?

Tory Richards wanted to be a writer for as long as she can remember, but life always seemed to get in the way. She didn't get serious until a few years ago, when encouragement from her family prompted her into submitting to a publisher. It surprised and thrilled her when a couple months after submitting to Whiskey Creek Press, she received her first contract offer.
Originally from Maine, she now resides in sunny, and ALWAYS hot Florida. Writing is a hobby for her. It thrills her to be able to share her stories and she loves seeing her characters come to life with each new book cover. Some of her books are in print, but all of them can be purchased as downloads.

Wow, Tory! Congrats on The Mercenary Way--it sounds like a great romantic and thrilling read! Is it a standalone? Or might you consider revisiting this world/its characters?
ReplyDeleteHope you're celebrating in a fun way, too! Dinner out? ;)

Thanks flichen! Yes, The Mercenary Way is a standalone novel. I've been tossing around an idea for a series so maybe something in the future.
DeleteLet's go to Chili's for ribs, they have the best!
Tory
Thank you for hosting me today, DeNita! I'll be popping in and out most of the day. In response to your questions, no plans for a sequel so for now their life will go on, just not on pages.
ReplyDeleteI just finished a manuscript yesterday! It's a short erotic romance. Getting ready to submit it to a publisher now so keep your fingers crossed!
Be back later!
Oh fingers crossed!! Good luck and keep us posted!
DeleteGood afternoon, Tory, and congratulations on The Mercenary Way AND your new manuscript - fingers and toes crossed for you!
ReplyDeleteWhen and how did you get started with your writing career? :-)

Good afternoon to you Felicia! Are you spending your lunch time on the internet? LOL I knew around the age of ten that I wanted to be a writer when I grew up. Until I got my first typewriter at 13, I penned short stories on note book paper. My published writing career came late in life for me, simply because real life got in the way. But it's never too late to pursue your dreams and the rest is history!

Congrats on your release!! It sounds so good! I have quite the soft spot for mercenarys. :) What are you writing next? Where do you get your characters? Movies, actors, family, friends, strangers, in your mind, etc... Thank you!

Thank you for stopping in today, Shadow. You have a soft spot for mercenaries? Care to share why?
DeleteMy heroes and heroines come from my imagination. But some of my characters do come from people I know. Their names are changed to protect the guilty:)
Tory
Congratulations on the book release.
ReplyDeleteDid you set the book on an Island for any particular reason (has always wanted to visit an exotic island).

No reason. Just thought it would be fun for my characters to have to fight their way through a jungle to safety. Lots can happen along the way:)

DeleteCongratulations on your new release. Sounds like a great book. I love the cover. Who's the cover artist and did you get to choose your cover? Do you ever use people you know or meet in your books?
ReplyDeletesstrode at scrtc dot com
Thank you! I didn't get to choose the cover, like some other publishers let authors do. But I did have input. Thanks for coming by today!
DeleteAnd yes, I do sometimes use people I know in my books, as secondary characters.
Tory
Congrats on the new release, Tori. Who are some of your favorite authors?
ReplyDeletejanie1215 AT excite DOT com
Katheleen E. Woodiwiss, Rosemary Rogers, Janet Daley, to name a few. I don't get to read much these days. Too busy writing:)

Congratulations on the book! Did you have a specific place in mind when you were writing about the setting?
ReplyDeletebn100candg(at)hotmail(dot)com
Thanks for coming by bn100! No, the only thing I was certain of was that it was an island off the coast of Florida. A couple of my books take place in Florida.
