Celebrating Sandra Sookoo's New Historical Romance

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating a sexy historical adventure from Sandra Sookoo.

CAIRO NIGHTS by Sandra Sookoo

Losing something you want the most makes you stronger - or an easy target.

Joy Debinham, daughter of an English missionary, hides a secret heartache while working with Egypt's poverty stricken. As she attempts to save the children from easily curable diseases, she has another interest - keeping Egypt's treasures in the country. But the arrival of Quinn ignites her banked passion and becomes the obsession that might put her life in danger.

Quinn Handry, an enterprising American from humble roots, has come to Egypt for one reason - the money. He's done many things for a buck, but brokering stolen antiquities is the most lucrative. In order to reclaim what he lost years ago, he's always on the hunt for treasures until the day he meets Joy and everything dims compared to the desire she invokes in him.

During perfumed Egyptian nights, the heat between them flares while acquaintances conspire to destroy them. Danger doesn't stay confined to tombs and pushes them to finally realize what matters most - if they can live long enough to claim it.

  1. Happy Release Day Sandra!!! I love Egypt as a historical setting and can't wait to read your new book.

Can you tell us about it and if you plan on other books set in Egypt or will we see Quinn and Joy again. Seems like those two could really get themselves in some trouble! LOL

You've been so busy lately with new releases how have you had time to breath?? What does the rest of the year look like for you?

Hope you're taking time to enjoy the ride and I hope CAIRO NIGHTS is your biggest seller yet! Have fun!

  2. Thanks for having me today :-) Cairo Nights is in a collection of stories that I've personally dubbed the "heat" series. lol The first one was Caribbean Heat set in the islands.

For Egypt as a setting, that was a no-brainer. I've always been a huge fan of Egypt, ever since I was a kid, so I delved into the research for this one like a kid in a candy store. :-)

Joy and Quinn are both very stubborn and passionate. I loved writing about them. Will we see them again? Hmm, I don't know. Will I write another book set in Egypt? Oh yes. I love it!

As for releases, yeah, I don't get to set my release schedule so some months are busier than others :-) I'm looking forward to May--vacation and no releases LOL

The rest of the year? So far nothing coming out past June but I'm writing up a storm and I'm sure that will change LOL

  11. No need to enter me into the draw, Sandra, as I just downloaded Cairo Nights, and look forward to reading it. I've always been interested in Egypt, and finally got to go there eighteeen months ago. Saw all the things I thought I'd never ever see, especially the Valley of the Kings near Luxor, and the Abu Simbel temples - awesome! The visit sparked off one of my novels which will be released next year.

  16. Hi Sue! So good to see you tonight! This is the second book in what I privately call the "heat" series. The first was Caribbean Heat set in Tobago (where my hubby is from) The next one will be somewhere in Africa (I'll be working on it within the month) So it's a series, but the books/characters aren't related :-)

However, I am developing a historical series of interconnected characters--coming soon!

  17. I would love to travel to Egypt but I have to settle for traveling through books. Have you been there?

  18. Hi Debby! Sadly no, I haven't been to Egypt. It's on my "to do" list before I die :-) I'd love to see all the monuments, to walk on the dust of ancient civilizations...yikes, I sound like Linus on Peanuts :-)

  19. Congratulations on the new book! The book sounds very good. Is it a stand alone or part of a series?

  22. Hi BN. Cairo Nights is pretty much a stand alone book :-)

  23. Hi Fedora! I try to celebrate each release. At times, I don't like to have them stacked up like this but there's nothing I can do about it :-)

  24. Hi P Keeler. Sometimes I get to visit locations. Most times not...I gotta be a famous author with scads of money to be able to do that! LOL
