  3. Thanks for dropping by the launch party!! I'm going to sneak in the basics early and I'll return after work to answer questions/comments...

Birthday Party Surprise is the second in the Lucky Springs series...but don't worry, they are stand alone and don't need to be read in order to enjoy. (One other note, all books have m/m love in them.)

The books are set in fictional Lucky Springs, Lousiana, a small town full of southern hospitality, homemade food, and friendly neighbors. But all small towns have secrets.

Being somewhere between New Orleans and Shreveport and far from a big town, Lucky Springs is the sort of place where everyone knows everyone and who they sleep with. But where do couples or singles go for a little fun? To keep their love lives interesting??

Lucky Springs has a party for that...

The thread that really connects the series is the characters who know each other...and share a pattern of one woman and three or four men who fall in love and form a committed relationship.

At first they think they're the only ones but thanks to the party thrown monthly at a beautiful old house, lovings groups know they aren't alone even if they can't tell everyone.

Book 1 is all about Cassie, the adventure loving photojournalist who comes home and finds men hot enough to handle her right next door. Her men host the party but can they play by her rules?

Book 2 is Jessica, Cassie's goody-two-shoes cousin who has been waiting for Mr. Right to return home to Lucky Springs. She gets one hell of a surprise:)

Book 3 is Hamilton, one of Cassie's guys whose interests always ran a little naughtier than her and the other men. They always knew he'd form his own group. We'll finally find out what keeps him at the fire house all the time...Red Hot Party is coming in August.

Book 4....Training Party. Well you'll have to wait until Dec 2011 for that one. But it involves a friend of Cassie's who goes from training with a friend to shed a few extra pounds (for a friend's wedding:)...to training to please three men. Exercise is a lot more fun naked;)

Hope you'll stop by Lucky Springs and meet the locales. I have so much fun with this series. A wonderful small town and still people can find love outside of the strict norms you'd expect to find.

    Hope you enjoy the excerpt!

  21. the Cover!

The cover is AWESOME! I was so lucky the artist is Juli Simonson.

I do a form for every cover and this one is about as good as they get for getting ALL the details in. I threw in the cupcake as a total wish and they did it!! It's so great.

I am very lucky with covers:)

  22. Fire House...

Wow Chele, love someone whose read the first book! yep, Ham has reasons to run off to the fire house:)

And what happens at the party, stays at the party. Especially in a small town!

  23. Books 3 & 4 in the series...

Book 3 (Red Hot Party) comes out in August 2011.

Book 4 (Training Party) comes out in December 2011.

So mark your calendars, you're all invited!

  24. Fictional Lucky Springs??

Why pick a fictional town?? Well, if I picked a real one, I might upset the town. Lol!! this way it's all mine, I can set it up anyway I want.

Plus I get to use the tag line:

Get Lucky in Lucky Springs! I know...silly but it makes me smile:)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Series end...

Will it end at book 4???

This is an interesting question. My editor and I have discussed continuing the Lucky Springs fun...it really depends on how popular the series is. It's all about supply and demand, so if the demand is there;)

I have worked up ideas for the continuing saga, 4 more titles. But they aren't contracted or anything. I'd love to write them!

  26. Character Names

This is always tricky. Sometimes the right name just shows up. Cassie is a Cassie...I couldn't call her anything else. Jessica drove me crazy, I was writing the book before her name was clear.

Men are actually trickier. In Birthday Party Surprise, the men have pretty normal names. Frank, Andrew...

In Joining the Party, three of the men are brothers and I wanted a unqiue naming style that reminded you those guys are related. So I went with Dominic, Hamilton and Montgomery (Dom, Ham, Monty). Monty's boyfriend has the more normal name of Alex. So hopefully as the series goes on, those odd names will remind the reader who is related to whom so it's not confusing...

Authors probably overthink the names but honestly, the characters will tell you if you've got it wrong. So far none of the lucky springs crew is complaining!

  27. I'll check back later for any more questions.

If you have it on your wishlist, I hope the Easter Bunny is kind to you:)

  30. Did enjoy Joining The Party. Distictive names are helpful to keep everything from getting confusing.

  31. Why four men??

    Not enough?;)-

Actually that's the most I've ever done. And the most I think I'd try. There are limits!

The main reason is these four men were all bisexual and had found their gay parnter. They've been longing for Jessica to complete things.

Plus there is the added fun of a good girl who always did the right thing falling for the most men and getting to keep them all:)

    Thanks for the question!

    Cheryl

  32. Cheryl,
Thanks for answering my question. I have read a few M/M/F and a couple of M/M/M/F but having 4 men seems like a lot. I'll have to check it out.

  33. I don't think I ever read a menage with 4 men and 1 woman. Ok, I turn 40 in 12 days how do you arrange a nice gift like that? And at the same time not upset the hubby. :)
Congrats on your release. I definitely will be adding these to my TBB pile.
