Celebrating Wild Child Publishing's October Releases

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating some exciting new October releases for Wild Child Publishing and Freya's Bower! There's Action, Historical, Mystery, Horror and Romance - truly something for everyone!

Wild Child Publishing has been on the web since August 1999. It began when two roommates with a love for the English language surfed the web and realized there were few, if any at the time, good online magazines. Discussions about the dearth of quality creative writing on the web led to the idea to create one. But not just a magazine, a place where readers and writers could come together, meet, talk, complain, laugh, and commiserate.

For more than six years, Wild Child has accomplished that original goal. Along the way, they've expanded by adding five editors and undergone a number of web design transformations. Each change has been with the intent of improving the experience for our readers and continuing to move into the future.

Freya's Bower publishes erotica and erotic romance. New writers as well as cross-genre experimental styles and short story collections are available in both ebook and print.

BURGER by Ronald Couch

Hans Burger, Führer of the Supreme Security Staff, is on a mission to avenge the death of his mentor, and former Führer, Kurt Schmidt. Schmidt rests in a sitting position inside Burger's Frigidaire chest freezer.

In order to exact his revenge on Ryan Conway, his wife, Eleanor, and David Wentz, a some times inept Mossad agent, the murderous Burger has the Supreme Security Staff infiltrate Mega Motors Corporation in accordance with Schmidt's original plans. But things do not go according to anyone's plans, and it almost becomes a comedy of errors for both Burger and Wentz.

Who will win in this fast-paced satirical thriller? Will Mega Motors survive? Will Wentz save his friends? Or will Burger kill them all?

REDTAIL HEART by Kenneth W. Williams (NOW IN PRINT)

Beleaguered divorce attorney Christopher Irvin was far more astute at putting marriages asunder than creating one of his own. So when the specter of death shattered the quiet complacency of his well-ordered world, he began to re-evaluate his life from the ground up.

Chris’ search for meaning leads him directly to his expatriate uncle, Roy Lankster, a decorated member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen. Nearly 50 years earlier, Roy’s P 51 Mustang fighter plane crashed in France in the lead up to WWII’s D-Day invasion. Broken, battered and barely alive, he’s rescued by Marie Renoir, a member of the French Resistance'. Their courage in the face of the ever present danger of capture is only overshadowed by a love between them so powerful that it rivals the first and greatest love in human history. The raging war, synthetic insanity, and the unassigned immoral forces of the universe conspire to tear them apart.

Chris, through Roy’s writings, relives his uncle’s relentless struggle to reunite with his love for the ages, and embarks himself on a personal journey of love and redemption.

  1. Welcome Wild Child and Wild Child authors! Please feel free to drop in and tell us all about your new releases and how we can learn more about you and your work!

What a great selection of titles you have for this month - historical, horror, romance and mystery! Covers just about all the bases there!

I am very interested in BURGER, sounds like a fun dark...maybe even disturbing...read for this time of year and can't wait to check it out.

And Sheryl Locke Holmes - how fun is that!! Please tell us all about your series and how many are available and when the next one will be coming out.

Enjoy your day here at the Launch Party and best of luck with all your books!

  2. I welcome any and all questions about the Sheryl Locke Holmes series. Opal's Disappearance is the third book in the series. October is the perfect month for the debut since Opal is the birthstone for October.

Quick recap for the series, a gemstone is used in each title and is also the name of a character in the book. Whether that character lives or dies, well, my dear, you must read to discover the truth.

Book one is Amber's Mysterious Death.

Book two is Ruby's Deadly Secret.

Book four is Dragon's Pearl. Written and waiting for edits.

Not too late to join Sheryl and her sidekick Dot Watson and friends on their next caper.

  3. Oh how fun! I love the wide varity of books you are showcasing today.

Sheryl Locke Holmes, now that is just too cool. Cassie, is she related to the famous detective? How many books do you plan for this series?

Are your books straight mystery or is there some romance blended in?

And I wanted to say I will be checking out all of the books, they really look like some great reads.

  5. Katie, thanks for asking. Sheryl isn't related to the great Holmes, but in the second book, one of her clients is convinced she is.

Right now I'm working on number five, called Curse of Jade's Bluff. I'm hoping to continue with the series though. I've got some gems to use.

Yes there is romance. Sheryl has a guy in her life and number two who wants a turn. Dot is also busy on the dating scene.

There's romance, mystery, humor and more mystery.

As Sheryl often says, "The game's afoot."

  8. Sorry if I'm late, work in two offices and just got home. Not sure if this is against the rules, but Abbi, I would love to know where you came up with your title? It's great -- Breathe. Caught my eye immediately. Reminded me of that song which fits perfectly with the storyline.

  12. Hello there,

Sorry I'm late to the party but I am really interested in all the books you have just released this month and especially the Red Tail Heart. Is there some truth to that story? What a wonderful concept and can't wait to read the story.

And BURGER looks like a great Halloween read.

I'll be heading to the publisher's site to check out what they have to offer and wanted to say I really love these parties with so many very different titles to check out. Thanks for having them.
