Celebrating The Reissue Of Lori Foster's Buckhorn Brothers

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the reissue of two stories in one of Lori Foster's most popular series - BUCKHORN BEGINNINGS!

Lori Foster first published with Harlequin in January 1996. Her second book launched Temptation Blaze and her 25th book launched Temptation Heat. Since those early days, Lori has routinely had 6 to 10 releases a year. She's a Waldenbooks, USA Today, Publisher's Weekly and New York Times bestselling author with over 80 titles published through a variety of houses, including Berkley/Jove, Kensington, St. Martins, Harlequin and Silhouette.

Lori believes it's important to back to the community as much as possible, and for that reason she ran special contests in conjunction with a publisher, facilitating many first sales for new authors. She routinely organizes events among authors and readers to gather donations for various organizations.

Along with her good friend, Dianne Castell, Lori hosts a very special annual "Reader and Author" event in West Chester Ohio. Proceeds from the event go to benefit worthy causes, including the Hamilton County YWCA Battered Women's Shelter, the Animal Adoption Foundation, and The Conductive Learning Center for children with spina bifida and cerebral palsy. CLICK HERE for details on this year's Reader and Author Get Together!

BUCKHORN BEGINNINGS by Lori Foster

SAWYER
The only doctor in Buckhorn County, Kentucky, Sawyer Hudson knows a thing or two about saving lives. But when he rescues the beautiful Honey Malone from a car wreck and nurses her to health at his home, he finds himself dreading the day she's well enough to leave. Because now that he's met the woman of his dreams, he's not about to let her go...

MORGAN
Buckhorn's big, bad sheriff, Morgan Hudson, wants a wife - one who's even-tempered, undemanding and content with small-town life. So why can't he stop thinking about brazen Misty Malone? The dark-haired city girl is downright aggravating - not to mention she's found herself on the wrong side of the law. But though she may not be perfect, Morgan is hell-bent on convincing her they'd be perfect together!

Lil, I've written something 4 or 5 writers now, and readers always ask if any part of "me" is in the character. :-) Other than being a writer, the answer is no! LOL

  38. On the candy - I like milk chocolate and caramel! :-) Yum! Milk duds and Twix work for me.

I don't really celebrate writing stuff anymore. There's enough wonderful family stuff to keep us busy celebrating. ;-)

None of my characters are specifically formed from real people. Bas Rutten was the physical inspiration for the hero in my book, "Simon Says." Yummy looking guy!

The art department for the publisher chooses the covers, but I have cover-approval. If I *really* hated something, I could get it changed. Luckily, I like most of the covers I get.

"A Perfect Storm" will be the 4th book in the "Men Who Walk the Edge of HOnor" series, coming out in April 2012. After that, I'll have an all new series that deals a lot with undercover cops. I'm better than halfway through the first book of that series.

The other Buckhorns will be reissued too, with "Forever Buckhorn" (Gabe & Jordan) available in Feb 2012, and "Buckhorn Legacy" (Casey's book) in Nov 2012.

    Thanks all!

    Lori

Thank you paperbackswap for the rescue on some and then i bought the 4 as a set for Kindle. The new covers are amazing. I have a cover flat for Buckhorn Beginnings. Staring at it right now over my desk lol

You right alot of stuff in the KY/OH area which cool since my husband is from the area where Buckhorn KY is located. Do you have books nor written from that area and have you ever considered trying to write a genre you haven't before?

  53. I don't choose the reissues, the publisher does.

I don't really have "me" in any of the books, but of course, and idea can grow from something that happens to me, something I see, or something I hear. One tiny kernel of inspiration can morph and expand into a full-blown plot.

I like the reissue covers, but I wish the guys had hair on their chests! LOL.

I'm done for the night. Thank you everyone for visiting!
