Celebrating A New Release And A New Series For Stacey Kennedy

Today at our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the release of STOLEN DREAMS, the first book in Stacey Kennedy's  new Lingering Spirit Series.

Stacey's novels are light-hearted fantasy with heart squeezing, thigh-clenching romance, and even give a good chuckle every now and again.

Her journey as a writer began as a way to keep her brain alive since being a stay at home mom can sometimes be a little...let's say numbing. It was an escape from screaming kids, dirty diapers and plain old mom duty.

It started as a hobby, but as the stories progressed it became a passion. Now, Stacey indulges at nap time, especially the juicy bits! Every mom needs a good thrill!

STOLEN DREAMS - The Lingering Spirit - Book One by Stacey Kennedy

Lives have been lost - dreams stolen, but love carves a path to hope.

Tess Jennings has the ability to see and talk to spirits. On a daily basis, they harass and annoy her to save their souls. Sometimes she helps, other times she ignores them, but one ghost will give her no choice. Kipp McGowan, a cop with the Memphis Police Department, uses his ghostly charms to gain her attention and forces her to expose herself to his partner.

As she's pulled into the five year old cold case of Hannah Reid, she wants no part of, she finds herself in more than one precarious situation. But that's the least of her worries - Tess begins to have a serious problem on her hands. Kipp might be dead, but he's drop-dead gorgeous and she's beginning to forget that he's a ghost.

Murder and corruption has brought Tess and Kipp together. But as her feelings for Kipp deepen, she suspects she just signed herself up for a one-way ticket to the nut house, and can only hope, straitjackets come in a size four.

  1. Good morning Stacey and super congrats on the new release and the start of a new series!!

I have to say, I just read the excerpt and LOVED IT - your characters really made me care about them already and I can't wait to read the rest of the story!

Tell us how what your plans are for this series - how many books and how the books will fit together. We Tess and Kipp be the main characters for all of them or just this one?

I wish you the best of luck with the new book and can't wait to see where this series takes us!

  2. I love love love these characters! Out of all my series, this one holds a really special place in my heart. I enjoyed every second of writing Tess and Kipp's life.

Yes, these characters will continue with the stories...and I plan on writing four books, but it could be more by the end. I've got some very cool things planned that will dig a bit deeper into Tess' abilities, and also an explanation of why Kipp is a lingering spirit. I'm very excited to write the next book and plan to do so in a couple months. I'm aiming to have book two out in May.

    Oodles of fun!!

  3. Stacey, I love humor in paranormal and find it fun to write. What pulls you to the humerous vs the dark side of the genre?

  4. Have you decided how many books will be in this series or is that still up in the air?

  5. Hi Lizzie!!

You know, I tend to have some dark stuff in my stories too, but I love adding humor whenever I can. Writing the dark times, sad moments, steamy scens is fun...but there is nothing better than being able to laugh with your characters!

  6. Love the excerpt and can't wait to read the complete book. How did you decide on ghosts? It's a refreshing change from the vampires and werewolves that crowd the shelves.

  7. Hi Elizabeth,

At this point I'm thinking there will be four. But of course, that could always change. I'm not a plotter, complete panster here. So, I never really know what will happen until I'm in the moment and writing the stories.

    :)

  8. Hi Riva,

This story actually came to me when I was working on something else that had no relation to ghosts. It actually started with Tess' ability and I thought it was a neat concept. From there, it just took off and the story came without a hiccup!

  9. Oh my goodness Stacey I adore that cover! I enjoy stories where the hero or heroine has a psychic ability or some other paranormal ability. I love the idea that the hero is a ghost. I'm not sure how Tess and Kipp are going to be a successful couple but I think it would be fun to find out! Congratulations on the new series!

  10. Just remember Stacie...it's an urban fantasy romance series. So, it won't necessarily have a happily ever after now...but a happy for now ending! Thanks for stopping by!! :)

  11. Congratulations on the new series. I think the cover is really cute too.

It will be nice to read UF with a bit more mystery since that's what I started out reading eons ago. Still do, but have more more into UF the last couple of years.

  12. Congrats Stacey on the newest release. It looks to be a great start to a great new series. Did you find it hard writing about a ghost heroine? Did she pose any challenges?

  13. Anne - I'm a huge UF lover too, so I understand how it sucked you in.

Danielle - Actually, the hero is the ghost. The heroine is the one who holds the ability to see him. And no, I didn't have any challenges. I enjoyed every part in this story and it followed really easily!
