Today at our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the release of WHISPERS OF EVIL, the second book in Stacey Kennedy's Watchers Series.
Stacey's novels are light-hearted fantasy with heart squeezing, thigh-clenching romance, and even give a good chuckle every now and again.
Her journey as a writer began as a way to keep her brain alive since being a stay at home mom can sometimes be a little...let's say numbing. It was an escape from screaming kids, dirty diapers and plain old mom duty.
It started as a hobby, but as the stories progressed it became a passion. Now, Stacey indulges at nap time, especially the juicy bits! Every mom needs a good thrill!
Nayeli has been locked away, hidden from the world in a mental institution, all due to the whispers of evil which have corrupted her mind. Unbeknownst to her, the voices that have plagued her are a gift given to only one kind - Watchers.
Griffin, her Seeker, is about to break this cage of imprisonment woven around her and give her a new chance at life. But when a demon leaves the confines of Hell to create havoc in Louisiana, will his love for Nayeli free her wounded heart, or will she succumb to the whispers which threaten to steal her soul?
*WARNING: Explicit sex between a timid Watcher and a gorgeous Seeker, and a ceremony that will certainly raise eyebrows!

What sparked the idea for this novel? Was it a gradual pulling together of ideas or did it hit you with a cosmic Big Bang?
ReplyDeleteHey Nerine,
ReplyDeleteThis series just kinda hit me one day...and it hit HARD! Both A DEADLY WHISPER and WHISPERS OF EVIL have proved to be the easiest novels I've ever written. I really love this world and these characters!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Kat,
ReplyDeleteNormally I discover titles as I'm writing the book. A little phrase will pop out at me that screams "title"!
PJ Edwards did this cover and I love her work! She'll design all of The Watchers covers and is doing a couple indie projects for me too! She's fab!
Thanks for celebrating with me!
Hi, Stacey.
ReplyDeleteHow do you determine which excerpts to share with your readers?
Your book covers are wonderful. Do you work with one particular artist?
Thanks,

When writing a series, do you prefer to carry the story from one book to the next, like The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins? Do you prefer main characters that carry through books but have different story lines each book, like J. D. Robb's Eve Dallas series? Or do you prefer one book they are main characters, the next book they are secondary characters?
ReplyDeleteCan the books be read stand alone or is it recommended for them to be read in order?

Hey Tracey,
ReplyDeleteI always pick the sexy steamy ones!!
Oh and Tracey, I just worked with a cover artist who did my upcoming release, Whatnots and Doodads. Her name is April and she works with Liquid Silver books. She's fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteShe, I prefer to have each book tell it's own story. I don't mind if not everything is answered in a story but the main plot has to be resolved. :)
ReplyDeleteJoAnna,
ReplyDeleteI would recommend you read them in order. Just so you know all the history! :)
How many titles do you think will be in this series? Or do you think there will be a natural progression and then a secondary series will branch off?

Hey Lindseye,
ReplyDeleteThese stories are all told from a different hero and heroines point of view. I plan to write four books in this series.
Thanks for stopping in!!
Do you have other books?
ReplyDeleteThis series sounds like a good read.

Yup, Estella, I have two other series out right now. You can find my other books on my website www.staceykennedy.com!
ReplyDelete:)
Generally how long does it take for you to write a book? Do all of your books have a paranormal element?
ReplyDeleteiqb99@yahoo.com
Hi Danielle,
ReplyDeleteIt really depends on the book. Like I said to Nerine, these books have been very easy to for me to write. I usually have the first draft done in two weeks! It's a fun world!!
And yes, I always have some paranormal element in my books. What can I say, I love the supernatural!!
:)
I love paranormal romances and this sounds like a great one :-)

This sounds like it will be a very good series. I love paranormal romance books.

I love them too, Sarah and Sherry!! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the fantastic new release Stacey - I'm sorry I wasn't able to celebrate with you yesterday - had to be out of the office during most of the day with family stuff.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear more about this series and your Watchers - how did they get this gift and how are the books connected.
Do any of your series overlap (will we ever see a character from one series make an appearance in another series)?
Best of luck with the book, I'm sure we'll see this one on the bestseller lists as well!!!
