Celebrating A New Erotic Romance From Desiree Holt

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the release of DELIGHT ME, a new story in Ellora's Cave's 1-800-DOM-help Series from award-winning and bestselling author Desiree Holt.

Desiree has lived a life of excitement that brings the color to her writing. She was a summer fishing guide, a summer field hand where she was one of only three women working, a member of a beginning ski team that skied in competition (and no, no broken bones!). She spent several years in the music business representing every kind of artist from country singer to heavy metal rock bands. For several years she also ran her own public relations agency handling any client that interested her.

She is twice a finalist for an EPIC E-Book Award, a nominee for a Romantic Times Reviewers Choice Award, winner of the first 5 Heart Sweetheart of the Year Award at The Romance Studio, and is published by four different houses. Romance Junkies said of her work: "Desiree Holt is the most amazing erotica author of our time and each story is more fulfilling then the last."

DELIGHT ME by Desiree Holt
Part of the 1-800-DOM-help series

Dani thinks her growing dissatisfaction with the lifestyle might be because she needs a role reversal. When a mysterious business card appears she calls the number, 1-800-DOM-help and at the club, Unfettered, is paired with Ethan, a sexy-as-sin sub. Dani learns the erotic effect of wielding the single tail whip on her sub and the intense arousal that stimulating him with toys can bring. As their sessions progress, she explores with Ethan every aspect of D/s play, from restraints to punishment to the exercise of control to achieve mind-blowing orgasms, and understands the value of receiving trust as well as giving it. But she develops very strong emotional feelings for Ethan that scare her to death. This could change her life forever. Will she be brave enough to accept what's being offered?

  2. Tell me what drives you to write. I know it is a loaded question but I always wonder how authors like yourself come up with these amazing stories.

  4. Okay. Well. What drives me to write? Insanity! LOL! No kidding, I have so many stories banging around in my head I can't get them out fast enough. I fall in love with my heroes and love to see them come to life.
The idea for the 1-800 series came from a discussion I think at last year's RT convention when one of the authors said she called for some kind of business help and the numbers literally translated into 1-800-DOMHelp. All of us in the group write BDSM from the light to the heavy, and it's also an opportunity to tell people what it's really all about.

  7. Congratulations, Desiree.

I always wonder how authors come up with book titles. How or what influenced to name the series 1-800-DOM-help?

    Thanks,

  9. Okay, in order. LOL!
Yes, I sometimes get my characters mixed up. I have to keep a spread sheet now so that doesn't happen.
The hardest part of writing this story? Writing from the viewpoint of a female Domme because my females are all subs. It was a great experience.
And how did we get the name. Well, it was really funny. A bunch of us were sitting around the bar at the last RT convention and someone mentioned that she'd had to call someplace for maintenance the other day and the telephone numbers translated to 1-800-DOMHelp!

  10. How fun, Desiree--this sounds like a fun multi-author series! How much guidance or guidelines did you determine together before starting? Or is it fairly open to whatever kind of story you wanted to write?

Looking forward to picking up this latest of yours, and catching up on the others in the series!

  11. No, actually once we have a concept we have to prepare what we call the series bible,. which sets down definite guidelines for all the stories. And each synopsis is read by the others to make sure it fits. Then the entire proposal is submitted to the publisher who also has to approve it and make sure all the storylines are consistent with the bible. We want to make sure we give our readers what we promised them. And thanks for coming to my party.

  12. I just think this is a clever idea for a series and wanted to know if writing this has sparked an idea for another story.

  14. Congrats Desiree! Sounds like a very good book and the series sound really good too! I love how you guys came up with the series. Now you've got me looking at phone numbers and wondering what they would spell. . .

What inspired you to write BDSM? And what inspired you to explore the female Dom side of it when you haven't written about it before?

  16. I thought the blurb was HOT!!! & then I read the excerpt. Definitely a book to hide from the children. How many books do you think will make up this series??

  17. I'll try to answer all the questions. I chose to write about a Domme this time because I am so inspired by Joey Hill's books. Writing from this point of view is something that's been teasing at the back of my mind for a long time and I finally decided to take the plunge. Actually, it was reading her books that first interested me in BDSM and the more I researched it and read about it, the more I understood it and became fascinated by it.
I belve at the moment we have 14 authors listed for the series, but of course not all of them are out yet We have big plans for the series so spread the word!!!!!!
