Celebrating The Final Release In Marie Treanor's Awakened By Blood Series

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating Marie Treanor's new release BLOOD ETERNAL, book three in her Awakened By Blood Series.

Marie was born and bred in Scotland, but for some years moved around the UK working and studying. Now she's back home and happily married with three young children.  Having grown bored with city life, her family lives in a picturesque village by the sea where, instead of working for a living, Marie is lucky enough to be able to enjoy herself writing stories of romance and fantasy.

She draws the inspiration for her books mainly from the people around her and from Scotland's rich history and culture - with, of course, large helpings of fun and imagination!

BLOOD ETERNAL: an Awakened by Blood novel by Marie Treanor

Secrets don't disappear after seduction...

Elizabeth Silk is struggling to reconcile her passion for the vampire overlord Saloman and her allegiance to the vampire hunters. When a shocking vampire revolt calls Saloman away from her, she refuses to follow him.

To make matters worse, Saloman's beloved cousin Luk has been found and awakened by one of his greatest enemies. Frenzied with bloodlust, Luk embarks on a killing spree and prepares to expose Saloman's biggest vulnerability: Elizabeth.

But under Saloman's regime, vampires have become less concerned with secrecy, no longer willing to hide their power. Rumors are swirling about attacks on humans. After Saloman joins forces with the vampire hunters to consolidate his power, Elizabeth begins to understand her role in the inevitable collision of the two worlds. She could bring resolution between vampires and humans - if she can manage to stay alive long enough to play both sides.

  5. Thanks, Lizzie!! Great to see you!

Hi DeNita! Thanks for the party and the congrats :).

The AWAKENED BY BLOOD trilogy (BLOOD ON SILK, BLOOD SIN and BLOOD ETERNAL)is a vampire romance/urban fantasy series following the adventures of Scottish academic Elizabeth Silk, who accidentally awakens the most powerful vampire of all time - Saloman. Saloman is hell bent on revenge and world domination and, initially, on killing Elizabeth for the mystical power of her blood.

In fact, they should really have killed each other in the first book, but love got in the way, and although Elizabeth still opposes his ultimate aims, by BLOOD ETERNAL they're lovers, however fragile their relationship. And now to save the world - and their love! - they have to face a string of new challenges including the emergence of vampires from the shadows, prophecy, illness, vampire rebellion, the interference of friends and the awakening of another Ancient vampire to oppose Saloman. :)

Will you ever see Elizabeth and Saloman again? I hope so! But I have no immediate plans - got sidetracked into other ventures :).

I haven't heard of any plans to bring the other books out in mass market - but maybe they will if sales of BLOOD ETERNAL are good? Who knows? :)

Thanks, DeNita! I hope you and everyone will raise a glass with me! Cheers!

  6. I am a fan of paranormal romance and have heard great things about your books. What type of paranormal creature/story first captured your imagination?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Thanks, Chris, that's great to hear!

I like to be reading, although it varies how much time I get to do so! My favourite author of all time is probably a Scottish historical novelist called Dorothy Dunnett. Of more recently discovered paranormal romance authors, my favourites just now are probably Marta Acosta, Jennifer Estep and Meljean Brook.

What am I working on now? A very different vampire story, and a post-apocalyptic ghost story :).

    Thanks for coming today, Chris!

  8. Hi Lil,

That's good news! :). Hmm, good question! It might have been a ghost story, but what I remember now is reading Dracula and then Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire. Both of them blew me away!

  9. Happy congratulations, Marie! Can't believe this is the last book of the trilogy! Are you celebrating its release any differently than the first two? :)

  10. Thanks, Fedora! Nice to see you :).

Yes, it's the last of the trilogy! I don't think I'm celebrating very differently in real life (although I do feel a little sad that it's ended!). In the virtual world, I'm celebrating with a HUGE blog tour :).

Plus my Kindle contest of course, here at Author Island! So perhaps I'm making more of a splash about this one :).

  13. This series has been on my wish list, but I have not had the chance to read it yet. My question would be that if you found out vampires were real, would you want to be one? What would be the best thing about being one to you and what would be the worst?

  15. Congratulations!!

It's the collision of the two worlds that I'm very eager to read. Are your vampires strictly beings of the night?

  16. Congrats on the new release. Your Awakened By Blood series is on my need to buy list, which has grown to gargantuan preportions, so unless I win the lottey it will be a long time before I'm able to purchase everything I want. Not to mention the ease with which the internet helps me find additional books to swell the ranks.

Do you have any must buy authors of your own?

  19. Morning, June! Glad it's on your list :). Would I want to be a vampire? Well, I wouldn't mind the extra strength and the immortality, but not sure I could face drinking all that blood - yuch :).

Thanks, Wanda! Wow, what a difficult question! In my writing style, I suppose everything I've read must influence it in a an unconscious way. As far as content goes, probably Bram Stoker, Anne Rice,Victoria Holt, Daphne du Maurier.

Hi Marybelle! Thank you! My vampires are pretty much creatures of the night. they don't do sunlight, but the older, stronger ones can come out at dusk. And they don't necessarily sleep all day - they just avoid the direct sunlight.

Thanks, Kathryn! Delighted the books are on your list - what a pity we can't get government grants to feed our reading habits :). Yes, I have a few that I follow - a quirky thriller writer called Christopehr Brookmyre, historical novelist Elizabeth Chadwick. In the romance world, Gail Carriger and Jennifer Estep and I've just discovered Meljean Brook :). There are lots more but I'l;l stop there :).

Hi Debby! Thanks! I always get a special sense of excitement on release day. It's usually a really busy day, but I find time to enjoy a glass of wine with my husband :).

Thank you, Jen, that's great to hear :). Hope you enjoy them! And you're very welcome!

  20. Wow this series looks really good, not sure how I missed it as I love, love, love me some hot sexy vampires!

What are you working on now? And do you have other vampires I need to check out?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hi Laurie Jo!

Thank you! Thrilled it's caught your attention :).

What am I working on now? A new vampire story, very different from the Awakened by Blood books. And a sort of post-apocalyptic ghost story!

Other vampires... a few! HUNTING KAROLY and FREEING AL at Ellora's Cave. CITY OF THE DAMNED at Changeling Press...

    Thanks for dropping in!
