Celebrating the Release of Erin Nicholas' NO MATTER WHAT
Erin Nicholas has been reading romance since her mom first let her into her book cupboard when Erin was about fourteen. LaVyrle Spencer, Julie Garwood, Debbie Macomber... they took Erin's 'happily ever after' ideas from animated princesses to real people in the real world.
She's been writing romance almost as long. Many a family car trip was spent with her head bent over a spiral notebook in the back seat. She'll confess that her very first attempts at fiction were fantasy and paranormals, influenced by her father's love of the Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, and the original Alice in Wonderland. If Harry Potter had been around, Erin's sure he would have been on the bedtime story shelf as well.
But it wasn't long until Erin started writing about true love and that's where she's been ever since.
She's so thrilled to be able to share these stories with you and hopes that they make you smile, sigh, maybe even choke up a little. Most of all, She hopes that they help you believe in magical things like first kisses, the spark of passion, and the power of true love.
Erin loves to hear from readers! Please write her at Erin@ErinNicholas.com

The best doesn’t come cheap…and this time it could cost him his heart.
Adam Steele is good. Good at using his money to get his way. Money always works—until he realizes he can’t buy his daughter’s way out of her new wheelchair. Three private physical therapists later, he’s almost given up on Emily walking again. Then he meets Dr. Jaden Monroe. And his match.
Jaden doesn’t know the meaning of the word “quit”. But she knows a lot about “fired” after a public blowout with her ex jeopardizes the donation her hospital was counting on. Now the most tempting man she’s ever met has made her just the offer she needs to save the new children’s rehab wing—one million dollars to rehabilitate his daughter. In return she finds herself making Adam rash promises: that his daughter will walk in time to take the lead in the school play. And that he won’t entice her into his bed. No matter what.
But Jaden didn’t anticipate a teen whose injuries are more than physical. Or a man so passionate and devoted—and as tenacious as she is. As Adam wears down her defenses with kiss after kiss, the only thing harder than keeping her promise will be keeping a hold on her heart.
Product Warnings: Contains heated arguments that erupt only slightly more often than hot kissing, a new perspective on kitchen appliances, and sizzling sex occurring everywhere BUT the bedroom (though they eventually make it there).

Great cover and I loved the excerpt - here's to the book hitting the bestseller lists!
Enjoy your very special day!
DeNita
Thanks, DeNita! What a fun, exciting day! Thanks for helping me celebrate with a big PARTY! *G* Erin
ReplyDeleteHello Erin,
ReplyDeleteYour new book looks great and sounds like a super read. You're a new author for me, how many books do you have available and what genres do you write in (I know it said romance...but there are so many kinds of romance these days).
Happy to be celebrating with you today!
Happy Release Day Erin!!!
ReplyDeleteThe storyline and excerpt sound great! What do you have coming out in the not so distant future?
This looks really good, Erin. Will it be coming out in print as well as ebook?
ReplyDeleteHi, everybody!
ReplyDeleteLove to answer questions... well, *most* questions anyway :)
Thanks for the congrats! This really is fun!
Jerry, I'm new to everyone... this is my debut! I write sexy contemporary romance. I read historical and paranormal but my own characters insist on living in the here and now and, for some reason, don't want magical powers (silly them!) or to hook up with vampires (that one I can understand better!).
Joder, I have another release scheduled for April 2010. Another sexy contemporary! It's written as the first in a three-book series, so hopefully the other two will be on the release schedule soon too! You can e-mail my editor about that at... (just kidding!) *G*
Kimmy, this book will be out in print too! Usually Samhain releases print about 9 months after the e-release so we're looking at end of next summer! That's one reason I love this publisher though-- something for everyone!
Thanks for reading and posting!
Erin
congrats on your release; I love Contemporary romance so this fits the bill for me.
ReplyDeleteRobyn,
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it! I love pretty much all romance but contemporaries that are sexy and little fun have always been my favorites!
You can check out most of the first chapter on the Samhain website in addition to the excerpt linked above!

Hi Erin, I love getting to know a new Samhain author, and both of your excerpts had my grinning. My absolute favorite romance books combine a great storyline with a touch of humor, and I look forward to reading No Matter What.
ReplyDeleteJust peeked at your website and noticed that your new book, Just Right, will be another Samhain release. How did you celebrate the news? cake, dinner out, sleep?
ReplyDeleteNO MATTER WHAT sounds fabulous. My girlfriends & I all love your sexy, witty, 'I want more' writing.

Congrats on your latest release. You must be excited.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your opinion on book trailers? Do you think they help in book sales?
I look forward in reading No Matter What.
Thanks,
Tracey D
Congratulations on the new release Erin!!! Woohoo!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!!!

Erin...what do you when you have difficulty with certain scenes? Do you vent and give in to chocolate...resort to threats of literary harm to the manuscript :P?
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!!!

C'est moi again...
ReplyDeleteI just realized that I didn't mention even once how awesome I think the cover is! It is sooo sensual...YUM! and the excerpt? well, let's just say my macbook screen is still steamed over and I've got to wipe excess drool off my chin! I love it! I can't wait to read it! Did I mention that I want it, I NEED It!!!
Happy New Release!

More questions... yay!
ReplyDeleteCathy, I like to include humor in my books-- at least stuff that *I* think is funny (not always the same thing as true humor! lol) This book has a little bit of everything: it's sexy, funny and touching. The relationship with Adam's daughter, Emily, is fun and sweet but also emotional at times as she's dealing with some pretty big issues.
When I found out about Just Right I was at my mom's for the weekend. She's always been my biggest encourager and she was sitting right next to me when I read my editor's words "it rocked my world"! :) So that was REALLY fun! The first thing I did was text everyone I thought would care ;) and then we went for ice cream (sounds like I'm seven and got straight A's on my report card, right? Still, it worked for me!! *g*).
Marybelle, I love the description "I want more" writing... that's a huge compliment! Thanks!
As for book trailers... that's a great question. I'm new to all of this "book sales" thing (don't tell my editor, but I'd do this for free-- I love it!). But I will say as a reader that I've noticed books because of trailers. I think the hard thing is making sure it really matches the story. Ever been to a movie you thought you'd love and walk about going "that wasn't what I expected!" I hate when that happens! So, I haven't done one yet but have definitely considered it.
Question back to you all: do YOU think trailers help you decide to buy a book?
Anna, I just never, ever have any problems spot in my books so don't know how to answer... HA! *G* What I do is get away from it for awhile. I'll work on something else, read, if I'm REALLY stuck I'll clean house (hate those moments!). Inevitably, the tough spots are because I'm trying to do something with the plot or characters that just isn't working. So, eventually, I admit that and go a new direction. Invariably it means trashing twenty pages (or more!) of hard work *G*
It takes much less than a tough scene to get me into the chocolate!
And I'm glad you like the cover! The first one wasn't quite "right" so we had to go back to the drawing board. When I saw this one I said "yes!"
So, here's a question for you all: What is the one most important thing in making you choose to buy a book or an author? Cover, excerpt, backlist, witty intelligent blog posts?? *g*
Erin
I'm big on blurbs...a great blurb will always sell the book to me...I appreciate beautiful covers and catchy titles BUT it's not what will draw me in...I literally wander around webpages or in case of the store (the aisles) and pick up books one at a time...section by section...Have I mentioned that I have like major OCD and I need to be able to view each and every book that's been placed in the new releases area? well...that would be me...perusing for hours on...
ReplyDeleteThe biggest draw of course is the genre...I always take a peek at the top of the spine of the book to determine if it falls into a category that I enjoy to read...then I just pull out the book and read away at the blurb...If it represents itself well...then it's either coming home with me...or being downloaded to me.. :)
I always appreciate it when authors take the time to promote their books on their own site/blog or on guest blogs. I realize how much effort they're putting into it b/c frankly there never is enough time to get everything done. It does however, just indicate to me the conviction of the belief that they have behind their work as well.
I've become very disillusioned with some of my past very favourite authors simply b/c they've lost touch with their fan base. They're untouchable now that they're so successful and seriously I think that totally sucks for the fan b/c we want to at some point be able to connect with the author in some way; even if it is to say thanks for writing an awesome book.
Sorry totally went off on a tangent...but anyhoo... :) like I mentioned above it's ALL ABOUT THE BLURB for me at least.
Happy Reading!!!

To answer your question, it's usually the storyline and excerpt that gets a book on my tbb list, plus I've gotten hooked on many authors after reading guest blog posts like yours, or from seeing their books on my favorite yahoo groups (Samhain being one of them).
ReplyDeleteTrailers aren't a big selling point for me, while I will take a peek out of curiousity, it doesn't usually sway me one way or the other.
Blurbs are my thing too, as a reader! And I'll tell you... they are hard to *write*! :) I'd rather write the whole book where I have pages to go on and on rather than try to condense it all into a couple paragraphs *g*
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of authors that I will buy without reading the blurb now though. A favorite has two chances to disappoint me *g*. Every author has a book that's not quite as good as the rest, right? It's too bad some have gotten "too big" Anna. It's the readers/ fans that helped them get there.
I'm glad you like Samhain! They are a fantastic house to write for and I hope to be there for a long time!
Erin
I have a long list of auto-buy authors that I throw in the cart without reading the blurb, and have actually been really lucky with my picks.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about the two chance rule. Out of a list of around 15 authors, I've only had to bump two off the list when I found my self reading the first three chapters, then skipping to the end, just to get it over with, lol.
Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping by to celebrate with me today! I really appreciate it! Hope to see a few of you (all of you!) on my newsletter list, or at our blog (NineNaughtyNovelists)-- remember November 9th is our big party (prizes, giveaways, excerpts and fun!!)-- and elsewhere!
