Celebrating A New Tabor Heights, Ohio Novel From Michelle Levigne

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating a new inspirational romance in Michelle Levigne's Tabor Heights, Ohio Series!

ACCIDENTAL HEARTS by Michelle Levigne

A Tabor Heights, Ohio Novel

Tyler Sloane's sister and her children came to live with him when her marriage exploded. A summer of carting children to activities brought him into Abby Morgan's path, and friendship grew between her niece and nephew and his.

Abby was busy with her air courier service and helping her widowed brother raise his children. Common sense said she didn't have time for a relationship -- especially with a man as accident-prone as Tyler. But there comes a time in every woman's life when she has to throw out common sense and take a chance on love. That is, if accidents would stop plaguing her and Tyler, and four mischief-makers could agree that romance isn't "gross," and they should help Aunt Abby and Uncle Ty get together.

  1. Good morning Michelle and super congrats on the new release in your Tabor Heights, Ohio Series!

For those not familiar with your Tabor Heights Series, can you tell us all about it and how the books fit together? Tell us where the series is going from here.

I just have to say I can totally relate to Tyler, being quite accident-prone myself. Does that lead to some funny scenes? Cause it sure leads to some funny scenes in my own life - lol.

Can't wait to read it and wishing you many, many sales!!

    Have fun today!

  2. Hi, everybody!

I hope there are lots of you just stopping by to check out the book, even if you're not commenting.

You can't WIN if you don't comment.
And don't forget to leave your email address, please! I can't contact you about being a winner unless you tell me how!

Okay, our gracious hostess wants me to tell you about Tabor Heights.

    Well, the slogan is:
A friendly little town on Ohio's North Coast, where sweet romance is always in the air.

ACCIDENTAL HEARTS is the 12th book in the series.
It is the last book of Year One.

What do I mean by Year One?
Well, if you read any of the books, you will see that most scenes have a date on them. This tells you where you are in the series -- and if you open up another book in the series, and they have scenes on the same date, chances are pretty good those are places where the books overlap -- so what happens in one book, will be referred to in another book.

    But not always!

Tabor Heights is a college town, and there's a lot going on in the town, and even if a lot of the characters in the many books know each other, that doesn't meant everybody knows everybody else.

You DON'T have to read any of the books in a particular order. I write them to stand alone, as it were, and yet because this is a single town, and the characters frequent the same places, go to the same schools, the same church, shop at the same stores, you're going to get overlap. Some stories only take a month. Other stories only take a few weeks. Some take place over the course of a year. It'd be pretty awkward if you had to read them in any particular order, because they DO overlap.

That's part of why I have the dates in the scenes -- so you know where you are in Year One.

And it also helps ME to keep things straight in the storyline. It'd be pretty awkward if Max and Tony were in Los Angeles on Monday May 3 in one book -- but in another book, I talked about them teaching a writing seminar at Butler-Williams University on the exact same day, wouldn't it?

This December will be the start of Year Two, with a story called INVITATION TO A WEDDING. This story takes place over the course of a year, and within the book, the hero and heroine conduct an email correspondence, so you'll hear bits and pieces of some of the "big" storylines that take place during Year Two.

As for Tyler's accidents ... oh, yeah, they can lead to some pretty funny and uncomfortable situations. Like the time Tyler and Abby took their nieces and nephews to play mini-golf, and Tyler got in the way of his nephew's club .... Or when they played laser tag, and all the special effects made him dizzy. Or the time he caught his hand in the knucklebuster at the theater where he's the director. Want to know what a knucklebuster is? Well, it's part of the curtain mechanism, and ... it does just what it's called, if you're not careful!

And Abby comes in for her share of accidents. Like the time they were looking for a boy who wandered off through some caves during a field trip, and Abby slid .... well, I'll let you find out what happened when you read the story.

    You will, won't you?

  3. Hi Michelle,

I can't believe how complicated writing this series must be for you! And with year two coming, do you actually have other books in the series written so you know what to mention in that first book? It's such an interesting way to show the tangled lives of a small town.

I wanted to let you know I am working my way through year one and am really enjoying it.

I don't enter contests, had to change emails too many times due to jerks stealing my info, so don't enter me. But just wanted to drop in to tell you congratulations and that I'll be checking out your new book :)

  4. Yes, all the books in year two are written -- I had to know where and when things would happen, so people could talk about what's happening elsewhere in town. Then I went through and assigned dates to all the scenes in each book -- al eight of them, and wrote notes for each date in a calendar program, and printed it out to put in a binder. Now, when I polish up each book, I can refer to the calendar and know what is happening on that date in the other books, avoid contradictions (I HOPE!!!), and I can add new scenes as needed.

Once all that organization work is done, it makes revisions a lot easier. And just think -- I have my books for the next 3 years roughed out now!

Yeah, like that will make life any easier????

  5. I love books about small towns.. I think ever since I moved to a much smaller city, I lived very large city of nearly 3 Million people and now I live in a small city of close to 300,000 people. So it has a small town feeling to it for me... I get a bounus of reding about them too.
