Celebrating Lexxie Couper's New Release And The Launch Of Ellora's Cave's New Shivers Line

Today at our Cyber Launch Party Blog we're celebrating Lexxie Couper's new release erotic horror release ENDLESS LUST, the book that launched Ellora's Cave brand new Shivers line!

Lexxie's not a deviant. She just has a deviant's imagination and a desire to entertain readers with her words. Add the two together and you get darkly erotic romances with a twist of horror, sci-fi and the paranormal.

When she's not submerged in the worlds she creates, Lexxie's life revolves around her family, a husband who thinks she's insane, a pony-sized mutt who thinks he's a lapdog, two yabbies hell-bent on destroying their tank and her daughters, who both utterly captured her heart and changed her life forever.

  8. Looking forward to reading this book though usually I close my eyes when there is an intense movie on. It will be interesting to see how scary I think the book actually is since I am not shy when reading extreme BDSM. So my tolerance for intense is probably higher than I think.

please enter me for the second book as I have Timeless Wrath.

  16. Heya, Everyone

Sorry it took waaay too long to get on here. I wish I could give you some very exciting reason for my tardiness, but the simple truth is I couldn't find my charger and my laptop went flat. Argh!!!

    :(

Anyways, I'm here now so lets get going, shall we...

    Ta muchly, DeNita :)

Tell us all about the new book and what can readers expect from this new line?

Endless Lust is Stephen King-meets-Edgar Allen Poe-meets-pyschotic stalker-meets Vincent Van Gogh. Honestly, I don't know how else to describe it. My editor called it a "mind-f*ck" and "creepy as sh*t" so I guess that's got to tell you something, yes?

The new line as about being scary. Really scary. Ellora's Cave are aiming to scare the readers senseless aaaaand turn them on at the same time. Not an easy thing to do, I gotta tell you ;)

This is the second book in your Seven Deadly Daemons Series, tell us about the first one and how the books connect. Should they be read in order?

The Seven Daemons are attached to the Seven Deadly Sins - for each sin there is a Daemon Form. Each Damon Form is the daemon of that sin embodied or manifested in some way through an artistic medium. When the Daemon Form identifies a "food source" they will attack that source (ie, a poor defenceless human). When they identify a "Guardian" (ie, a human to which they are connected) they will do their upmost to bind the Guardian to them, thus granting them freedom in the human world and therefore control of it.

The books don't have to be read in order. Timeless Wrath introduced the Daemon Forms via the Damon of Anger. Endless Lust follows the, well, I guess you probably have figured out which daemon by now ;)

It is a disturbing book, Jen, but I hope a scary one--and a deeply romantic one too. And you are more than welcome :)

Ta muchly, Estella :) As to how I came up with the idea? Oh, man, I think there's about a gazillion years of psycho-analysis needed before I can answer that *grin*

Hi Lindseye. I'm really curious as to what you make of this book. I'd love to hear your thoughts when/if you read it. (I'm honestly quite nervous about what the romance reading world is going to make of it)

    Hi Lexxie,

Big congrats on your new series. Speaking of horror, what is your favorite horror movie?

Thanks, Cathy :) My fav horror film is definitely Jaws *grin* Followed by Silence of the Lambs and Alien and then, for some cheesy gore fun, the original Nightmare on Elm Street. I'm a hug fan of the classics so I will also watch any and every Hitchcock film available to me *grin*

Oh, and Frank Darubont's The Mist based on Stephen King's short story of the same title is truly truly terrifying

Brilliant question, Sarah. Did I enjoy writing it? Wow, that's a complex answer. Some days, yes. Some days, I scared myself, other writing days I laughed at how monumentally derranged I seem to be (I wonder if this is what my mum meant when she said I was a little..."different"? *grin*). I have to say though, when I finished writing it, I felt really bleak. I had to start work on my next rom-com straight away to lift my mood. Interestingly enough though, my head has started to already tell me what's happening in the next Daemon Form book and I honestly can't wait to get started.

Did you have any input on the cover?

Ta muchly, JoAnna. Sorta. I give the cover artist a rough idea of the feel I'm after - in this case, I wanted a menacing but highly sexual tone -and the cover artist just worked her magic.
