Celebrating Sandra K. Marshall's Romantic Suspense Release

Today we're celebrating Sandra K. Marshall's recent romantic suspense THE DECEIVED.

Sandra worked 36 years in the aviation field before retiring to full-fill her dream of writing and being in print. She loves writing mystery romances, and she loves to travel, and she hopes to combine both with her real-life hero.

THE DECEIVED - a romantic suspense from Sandra K. Marshall

The games they play can lead them to love or ruin.

Melanie Dubois detests her family's casino business. The way this addiction destroys people has her on a tear of magnificent proportions. Then again, this young lady has been put through a train wreck of her own design. She distrusts everybody except for the people who are determined to use Melanie as a poster-child for zealots.

Mike Mercer has spent nearly a year in a deep cover mission for the FBI. The one fly in the ointment of completing his objective to take down a group of dangerous anti-gambling zealots is a fiery-tempered, blonde-haired woman named Melanie DuBois. Worse than that, she's got a passion brewing just beneath the surface that's an even deadlier attraction.

Fighting for your life is never easy when the odds are stacked against you.

  1. Good morning Sandra!!! And super congrats on the release of THE DECEIVED...I just read the excerpt and it sounds great!

How did the idea for this story come about and I found it really interesting that your first book ADDICTION had a main character that had a gambling addiction (among others) and your heroine in this book is fighting against a casino - are the books connected?

Congrats again and it's great to have you here! Here's to THE DECEIVED being a bestseller for you!

  2. Thank you, DeNita. I'm thrilled to be here.

Actually, Addiction wasn't the first book. The Catalyst was first, but the publisher who released it closed.

All three of these books were written because riverboat casinos moved into our area.

  3. Sandy, a big congrats and kudos to you on the release.

I know all about Casinos coming in and disrupting families, etc. We had 1 open app. 1 1/2 yrs. ago an hours drive away. There are always vehicles in the parking lot.

    I like Melanie already, lol.

  20. Thank you, Heather.

It's very exciting that the whole trilogy will be available. It means a lot of work because the formating is different from when it was released from Forbidden Publications.

  25. Thank you, SiNn. I'm glad you like my books.

No, I don't believe more crime happened because of the casinos, or not that I'm aware of. People were most concerned about prostitution at the casinos than anything. That hasn't developed.

The only problem I see from the casinos is the addiction. Some people are just addicted to gambling and go so far as to lose their homes.

The only addiction I can't stop is my deluxe nuts without peanuts. I can't stop with a handful, I have to eat the whole can in one sitting. lol

  28. Thank you, Anonymous and Marybelle,

I read childhood mysteries like Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, Gothics, and then moved to Harlequin romances, so it was pretty much natural to write in the romantic suspense genre.

That being said, I wouldn't have written a book if it wasn't for my husband. He challenged me to write a book. lol Boy, is he sorry now.
