Celebrating Rebecca Royce's New Vampire Romance

Today we're celebrating the release of Rebecca Royce's LIGHT ME UP, part of Silver Publishing's 25 days of Christmas Series!

As a teenager, Rebecca Royce would hide in her room to read her favorite romance novels when she was supposed to be doing her homework. She hopes, these days, that her parents think it was well worth it.

Rebecca is the mother of three adorable boys and is fortunate to be married to her best friend. They live in northern New Jersey and try not to freeze too badly during the winter months.

She's in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the pararnormal and tries to use all of these elements in her writing. She's been told she's a little bloodthirsty so she hopes that when you read her work you'll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. Rebecca loves to write series because she loves to see characters develop over time and it always makes her happy to see her favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.

In Rebecca Royce's world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.

Ruth has been a vampire for sixty-five years after being assaulted by a vampire during World War II while her family hid from the Nazis. One night, she is drawn to a house where they are celebrating Hanukkah and the candles are burning in the window. There, she meets a man, Benjamin Fox, who is immune to her vampire charms. Ben is thirty-five years old and dying of a heart problem he's had since he was a child.

Together, they will form a friendship that could be so much more if either could allow it. But when Ben is about to succumb to his illness, Ruth must decide whether to give in to his wishes and make him a vampire too. She is, he's decided, his ultimate Hanukkah gift.

  1. Good morning Rebecca and happy release day!!!

A Hanukkah vampire story (that is steaming sexy, too I'm sure)is a a new spin I haven't seen before.

Tell us about how this story came to be and about this series it's part of.

Enjoy your special day and hope you're not under as much snow as we've got piled up on us!

  2. I'm not under snow just yet but we know its coming. We had some flurries yesterday. Burr. Its too early for me. (I know, I know its December!)

Light me Up came to me from a single scene where I pictured a woman standing outside a house watching Hanukah candles burning in the window and knowing she couldn't enter. I started to wonder who she was an what she was doing.

The whole story developed from there. I do think its unique and I hope the readers will want to give it a shot!

    Thanks for having me today!!!

  6. Thanks everyone for coming!!

LegalGal--it was a time of great distress and I thought it might be a time when a Vampire could wonder around without anyone noticing.

  14. Congrats Rebecca! I'm not one that celebrates Hanukkah so I'm not sure what to expect but I'm open to all religions. Your book has me wondering if and/or when she will change him? and does she change him because that's his wish or because of her love for him?

  18. Oohh, you know how to hit the tough ones, don't you? I developed Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 21 while at college (whole world changed!). While I have learned to cope pretty well, there is that "what if" in the back of ones mind at hard times... This plot seems kind of along those lines (luckily I am no where near die-ing!)

Would you be able to take that kind of plunge? Ok, if dieing, not a hard question...But if only life-time sick, not die-ing? That question pops in my head when reading good vamp stories and I always wonder what the authors would say?

  20. Would I be able to take that plunge? I'd like to think for true love I would. There is almost nothing I wouldn't do for my husband, who is my true love, so I think I can see why my character considers it

Do I get a say in the cover? Sometimes. But not in this one. This one was part of a collection of holiday stories for Silver Publishing. Some are Christmas, some are Hanukah, we all got the same cover.

Thank you everyone for stopping by and I hope you will check out the book.
