Celebrating A Hot New Cougar Romance From Sam Cheever

Today we're celebrating the release of a new cougar romance from Sam Cheever and Ellora's Cave Sophisticate line.

Sam writes fast paced fantasy and romantic fiction with feisty characters who deal with life's little challenges in unique and often hilarious ways. As a reader Sam is very impatient. She quickly loses interest if a story doesn't have a good pace and snappy dialogue. Sam's inability to focus in a backwash of human angst and subtleties works out well for her readers, since she writes the way she likes to read.

In her real life, Sam lives on a hobby farm in Indiana with 10 dogs, 4 horses, 2 barn cats, 2 daughters, and one husband. Not necessarily in that order.

Find out how you can get free goodies and many even your name in one of her books by joining her Fan Club!

  8. I already know that Bits n Bites is a book that I have to read. I wouldn't mind my computer problems if Brad was the technician on duty. Congratulations on the release and thanks for the free reads.

  9. Hey Valerie!

Thanks for stopping by. I get my ideas from some of the strangest places. #:0) I'll get an idea for a book while watching a movie, or reading something online, or watching the news. The key is to recognize a good plot when it blips by and then put your own, unique spin on it to make it interesting. Plots present themselves to us all day long, I guess writers are just trained to recognize them in their most basic forms. #:0)

  11. You know, Cathy, I've had more people tell me that since I started talking about this book. Snort! It seems like everybody knows someone who's just like Bliss. That's why her character is so much fun! Because we can all relate to her on some level. Merry Christmas!

  12. Isn't it the truth Leni? There's just something about a sexy nerd. Snort! Thanks for coming by! I hope you enjoy the free reads!

What made you decide to write cougar romances?

  14. Hey Estella!

My friend Lizzie T Leaf nagged at me until I wrote one! Snort! But seriously, I knew so many great ladies living the lifestyle it seemed natural to write stories for them. Thanks for stopping by!

  15. Congratulations on your new release. This looks like a very good book to me. I love that she's not very good with computers these days just about every book the people are really good on computers.

  19. How fun, Sam! Congrats on your latest release! Have you ever considered writing a shifter story? Maybe a cougar cougar? ;) Sorry, that was silly of me!

And you have a real life farm? How do you manage to squeeze in writing time with all the demands of such a large household?

We're thankful you do, one way or another!

  20. Oh my goodness F. Chen, that's a great question! The answer is pretty unexciting. I get up at 4 in the morning to write. I find I'm at my sharpest early in the morning and my brain is worthless after 9 pm so it works for me. #:0) Thanks for joining my cyber party!

  21. Hey Jessica!

I actually know a couple of people like Bliss so it wasn't much of a stretch to create a computer phobic character. The fun was creating the sexy nerd to help her with her...erm...problems.

    Har! Thanks for coming!

  22. Jolene! Welcome!!! That sucking sound you hear is me drawing you into my web. Snort! But seriously, EC has the BEST cover artists don't they? I hope you'll try Bits 'n Bytes, I think you might enjoy it. Thanks for coming!

  23. Andrea!! We're ALL older women! Har! I think cougar is the next wave in women's fiction. I don't think it will be quite as big as the M/M stuff but I think it's going to be big. Because, let's face it, a lot of women in our demographic read romance, it's a natural fit! Thanks for coming!

  24. Hey Sherry,

It's true, most people are good with computers, but you'd be amazed how many people have told me they either know someone just like Bliss or are like her themselves! I'll admit I was a bit surprised. I hope those folks don't mind my having a little fun at their expense! Bliss was just too great a character to pass up! Thanks for stopping by!

  25. Oh, and F. Chen, I have done a couple of short, erotic shifter stories. The titles are Moon Burn and Bound by Blood. They're part of my Halloween Love series, and I'll be adding a book to the series every Halloween. I'm sure I'll do more with shifters outside of the series too, it's just that so many authors do shifters, I've looked for my niche elsewhere.

    Thanks!

  26. Hi, Sam. I'm not a cougar, and am happily married. But I have noticed that all the guys in ads and even on TV are starting to look younger and younger. And I'm not that old yet! There is something wrong when I start thinking "but he's just a kid" at the age of 36! Those guy are going to be in lots of trouble when I'm in my 40's, that's all I have to say. We won't even talk about the state of my poor hubby in 10 years, lol.

Everyone's talking about the computer phobia of Bliss, but did it take any extra work for you in making her black? Did you need any research or do you have a close friend who proofs that view for you? Just wondering since you went inter-racial as well as cougar with this story.

Congrats on the release! And thanks for the prize for us, gives us a little present close to the holidays ;).
