Celebrating A Hot Cowboy Romance From Starla Kaye and Black Velvet Seductions

Today we're celebrating the Black Velvet Seductions release of HER COWBOY'S WAY by Starla Kaye!

Starla often tends to see things and life through the rose-colored eyes of a romantic. She grew up in a loving family, something for which she will always be grateful. Today she is surrounded by a loving family and many wonderful friends who support her in all of her craziness.

Starla is working toward being a full-time writer of romance, everything from sweet to erotic to naughty, and is multi-published at this time. She is a member of RWA (Romance Writers of America), the current Vice-President/Secretary of Kansas Writers Association, the past president of WARA (Wichita Area Romance Authors), and an affiliate memeber of OWFI (Oklahoma Writers Federation Inc.).

Starla writes in a number of romantic sub-genres including contemporary and Old West cowboys, sci-fi, paranormal, Regency and Medieval. When not writing or dreaming up another plotline and a new set of characters, she might be off traveling somewhere. Well, even when she travels to places like Maui, the U.K., France, Italy, or even spots in the good old USA, she's dreaming and plotting. And taking oodles of pictures wherever she goes.

HER COWBOY'S WAY by Starla Kaye

Brandi has known Colby Pennington for most of her life and has loved him almost as long. Getting married, though, is a serious matter. The whole love, honor, and obey thing might be more than she can handle.Marriage is about an equal partnership, not having to follow anyone else's rules. It is about having someone there whenever and wherever you want sex. Brandi is definitely okay with that part, especially with her sinfully handsome cowboy.

But the obey issue, that Colby intends to take care of her in all ways - including occasionally warming her bottom...Well, it could be a deal breaker.

  2. Thanks so much for having me here for a Party celebrating the release of my newest anthology, HER COWBOY'S WAY, from Black Velvet Seductions.

My first book with Black Velvet Seductions came out last December, Holly's Big Bad Santa. My next work for BVS was a short story, "Trusting Her," which was published last month in the anthology SPANKED!

The characters in HER COWBOY'S WAY, Brandi and Colby, have played around in my head for a few years. I wrote a bunch of what I called "snippets" of their everyday lives. I wrote these as sort of writing exercises, and finally decided to pull some of the 50 plus stories into an anthology. Fortunately, my editor liked the idea and here it is!

I'll check back later in the day and add some more of my thoughts on what I write...and answer any comments.

  19. Thanks to all of you on the congratulations on my newest release. And, yes, the cover is great! One of my favorites.

If you have looked at my website, you will see that I write a lot of cowboy stories. They are just my kind of guys...okay, as a writer, they're bigger than life. But so what? It's fiction and for enjoyment.

  20. Anonymous in Germany asked "what does a normal writing day look like"? I'm not sure there really is a "normal writing day." Life gets in the way, people want things from you, you get distracted, etc. But I try to write in concentrated blocks of time (4-5 hours) at least every other day. When I'm on a roll or facing a contract deadline, I write more than that.

  22. Congrats on the new release! And thanks for the giveaway!
It says you write several genres...is it hard going from on to the other? Do you have problems/trouble with the different publishers trying to put you in one nich? Have you had to use different names to be able to sell under different genres?

    Thanks

  29. Victoria, you asked if it is hard to go from writing one genre to another...a little bit. It is easier to switch between one contemporary sub-genre (romance, romantic suspense, contemporary Western) than to switch between a Regency, a Medieval, or a sci-fi. You have to really, really get your head into the time period. But, I guess, you have to get in the proper perspective even in different contemporaries. But I love a challenge.

No, my publishers don't restrict me to a certain niche. They're wonderful and let me play with whatever I want to try. Just recently both Blushing Books and Black Velvet Seductions let me write Medievals, which was a challenge and I fell in love with all of my heroes. I'm tackling a Regency series next for Blushing Books. And one of the Medievals I wrote for Black Velvet Seductions (the one in editing now, Their Lady Gloriana) is my first menage story, and it's really hot.

When I started playing with writing different genres, I tried using different pseudonymns (Starla Kaye, Starla Kay, Kay Starr, S K Fero). It was more of a headache than anything else, for them and me. But I still write under Starla Kaye and S K Fero for Blushing Books.

    Thanks for commenting
