Celebrating A New Cougar Challenge Release For EC and Cris Anson

Today we're celebrating the Ellora's Cave release of a new Cougar Challenge book, ADDING HEAT by Cris Anson.

Cris firmly believes that love is the greatest give or to receive. In her writing, she lives for the moment when her characters realize they love each other, usually after much antagonism and conflict. And when they express that love physically, Cris keeps a fire extinguisher near the keyboard in case of spontaneous combustion.

After suffering the loss of her real-life hero/husband of twenty-two years, Cris has picked up the pieces of her life and tries to remember only the good times...slow-dancing with him to the Big-Band sound of Glenn Miller's music, vacations to scenic national parks in a snug recreational vehicle, his tender and fierce love, his unflagging belief in her ability to write stories that touch the heart as well as the libido. Bits and pieces of his tenacity, optimism, code of honor and lust for life will live on in her imaginary heroes.

ADDING HEAT - A story by Cris Anson in Ellora's Cave's Cougar Challenge Series

Encouraged by friends she met at RomantiCon, widowed landscape contractor Giselle Sheridan decides she's finally ready to take the cougar challenge and explore sex with a younger man. Except she's too busy during planting season to go on the prowl.

CPA Conlan Trowbridge is battling the IRS deadline for his clients, but when Giselle saunters into his office with a tax question, all he can think of is sex. She's all luscious curves and smoldering brown eyes, and he doesn't care if she's a dozen years older, she's a wet dream come true.

Oh yeah, they're both ready for some hot and heavy sex - in the tub, parking lots, their offices - anywhere and everywhere. But Giselle is afraid her age will eventually bother Con, and her longtime foreman also has designs on her, in more ways than one. When Giselle faces some hard decisions, will she ultimately be able to keep the heat?

  1. Happy Release Day Cris!!!

I love cougar stories (esp now I'm over love to read stories about older women still having fun!

EC's Cougar Challenge Series is a great series and I'm so glad you are apart of it!

Tell us a little bit more about your new book and how you came up with the story. And for those of us who love cougar stories, tell us about any others you have out there.

Enjoy your very special day and best of luck with the new book - I hope it's a huge bestseller for you!

  2. Hi Cris,

You are a new-to-me author and I love the sound of your books. I checked out your website (beautiful, BTW) and I think, if I'm lucky enough to be a winner today, I'd like to read 'Dance of the Rogue'. Sounds hot!

  3. Hi, DeNita, thanks so much for throwing this party for ADDING HEAT. I was thrilled to be part of the Cougar Challenge series because you're right, all the authors in it have written fantastic stories!

Since I'm a woman of *ahem* a certain age, I naturally gravitate towards Older woman-Younger man stories. In the fourth book in my Dance series, DANCE OF THE ROGUE, I gave my bad-boy hero an older, plus-sized college professor. In WHAT SHE NEEDS, the hero is a younger Dom who gives an older erotic romance author some hands-on research.

I hope your readers check them out! And I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

  4. Hi Karen, thanks for your kind words about my website and my books. I hope you're having perfect weather in NC!

  5. I enjoy the Cougar series(I am also of a certain age).

Are there more books planned in the cougar challenge?

  6. Hi, Cris! Happy release day! I've been loving this series, and am delighted to see that more stories are being added! I know you didn't pose for this cover, but might you have the chance to do that again in the future? :)

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  7. Oops, and I'd choose Dance of the Rogue--happily, I've got all the others! :)

  8. Hi Chris,

Your stories are so sensual, do you listen to music while you write, or have a special soundtrack for each story?

Would love to read Dance of the Crystal.

  9. Estella, yes, the next book will be a sequel to Lynne Connolly's "Beauty of Sunset" tentatively titled "Sunshine on Chrome."

Hey Fedora, no, I didn't pose with Jimmy, but I met him at RT, and he's as sweet and savvy as he is gorgeous. Glad you enjoyed my DANCE series.

  10. Hi, Cathy, thanks for your kind words. I usually have a classical music station on the radio, but I don't pick anything special to get into a specific mood. I guess I'm just a sensual person *grin*.

I did, however, replay the "Dance of the Seven Veils" (from Richard Strauss' opera, Salome) over and over again when I wrote my own DANCE OF THE SEVEN VEILS. Had to get it just right when Lyssa stripped all her veils off to entice Savidge.

  11. The series looks awesome and I haven't read any of them so I would start with Feed Dance of the Seven Veils. Is there going to be any more books in this series?

  12. Wow. I am sorry to hear about your husband (which sound bad, since I have no idea how long it has been). That I one of my fears. My hubby & I have been married for almost 14 years, and I have no clue what I would do without him, even if I claim to be a strong woman. I am very impressed with your story!!!

I hate to admit I am starting to relate to the cougar stories at only 36. But all the guys on the covers of book & in ads are so very YOUNG! Or at least look it. I may have always been mature for my age, but this is getting out-of-hand. I am too young to be feeling this way!

Looking on your site, Punishment and Mercy sounds really intrigueing. If I won, I would love a copy of that story.

Thanks for the contest and good luck with your latest release!

  13. Hi, Sherry, thanks for commenting. The fourth and final book in the DANCE series was DANCE OF THE ROGUE. BTW, all these books are available both in download and paperback at Ellora's Cave. I hope you enjoy them!

  14. Hi, Vicki, thanks for your kind words about my husband. It took a long while, but I'm back to enjoying life and I remember the good times, not the sorrow.

About the cover models looking young, remember that the artists use PhotoShop and tend to remove wrinkles because they are promoting fantasy. A number of models I know are over 40 but they keep their hunky bods in great shape (yay for us!).

I appreciate your taking the time to write.

  15. The cover to Adding Heat is amazing! Congrats on the new release!!!

  16. I agree, *yadkny*. That hunk is Jimmy Thomas. Wish I knew who the female model was. Thanks for stopping by.
