Celebrating A New Tabor Heights, Ohio Novel From Michelle Levigne

Today we're celebrating the release of BEHIND THE SCENES, a new novel in Michelle Levigne's Tabor Heights, Ohio Series.

A story addict since an early exposure to Dr. Seuss, award-winning author of over 30 novels and novellas, Michelle Levigne has been creating her own stories, heroes and adventures since junior high. She ventures into many sub-genres of science fiction, paranormal, romance and fantasy, including Greek mythology, Narnia spin-offs and her futuristic universe, the Commonwealth.

Michelle writes something for everyone! After all, since she likes to read all over the board, why not WRITE all over the board?

BEHIND THE SCENES - A Tabor Heights, Ohio Novel by Michelle Levigne

Max Randolph and Tony Martin were best friends and writing partners. She had moments of wishing for something more, something warmer, closer, in their relationship, but with the specter of her mother's mistakes when she had been a Hollywood starlet -- resulting in Max's birth -- she wasn't about to risk what she had by reaching for something that Tony probably wasn't interested in at all.

It took a writer-in-residence job and an extended stay away from Tabor Heights to make Tony realize what he wanted most -- Max, in every part of his life.

Then Max's parents were involved in a brutal accident and Tony rushed home to Tabor Heights to support her and her brothers. He promised Max she would never be alone again -- but with a Shakespearean production and book deadlines and stolen identities to deal with, when would things calm down enough for him to tell her everything that was part of that promise?

Today EVERYONE WINS a FREE taste of Tabor Heights with Michelle Levigne's free read HOMESPUN - Joel Randolph was a set designer in summer stock when he met Emily Keeler, former Hollywood starlet and her daughter, Max. Cast opposite her in a romantic comedy, and then summer friendship and acting as a father-figure for Max changed Joel, until he realized he wanted Emily and Max in his life permanently.

WIN - Leave Michelle a comment or question today at her Cyber Launch Party and your name goes in the hat for a BEHIND THE SCENES T-shirt! You must leave your email address, so we can contact you if you are today's winner - Good Luck!

  1. Happy Release Day Michelle!!!

First off, thanks so much for the free read - this is the story about Max's mom, what a great tie-in!!! Thanks so much, can't wait to read it.

As for BEHIND THE SCENES, tell us about the book and how it fits in with the rest of your Tabor Heights books.

For those who don't know about your series, fill them in about your other books.

Hope BEHIND THE SCENES is your biggest seller yet and that there will be more stories from Tabor Heights, Ohio!

  2. Good morning, everybody!

Here's an inside bit of information (well, not that much inside, since I mentioned it on Facebook this morning... ) but BEHIND THE SCENES originally started out as the first 4 episodes of a proposed half-hour family comedy series. I wrote 4 scripts, and proposed another 5 or 6 stories, and sent them to North Star Productions, which at that time was affiliated with The Family Channel/CBN. They were encouraging, but ended up producing "Big Brother Jake" instead.
    Their loss.
    Your gain!

There's another short story tied in with BEHIND THE SCENES -- this is a free read titled "Silver Hearts," which will release in December.

Check Desert Breeze Publishing for more details!

  3. Note:

I have a speaking engagement this morning at my old high school, talking with the creative writing class. I'm leaving in about 5 minutes -- yikes! -- and I hope to be back around 12:30/1pm.

Please post away, ask your questions, and I'll answer them when I get back.

  7. Anybody out there?

    Any questions?
I'm back from the speaking engagement -- I've been back -- why so quiet?

  9. I, too, love the Tabor Heights books Michelle. Thanks for the free read.

What research did you do for this book re: community theatre? Thanks.

  10. I have been following the series & am enjoying it.

  11. Robin asked what research I did. Ummm, experience?

I have a BA in theater/English from Northwestern College, and I did a lot of theater work in my church -- backstage most of the time. I've been in a lot of community theaters in the audience, and I have a good idea of what goes on behind the scenes, whether it's professional, academic or community.

The rest of it is just ... guesswork?

Glad you guys are enjoying it. I just turned in the next book in the series -- Firesong. The title is the name of a contemporary Christian music group, so does that give you an idea what might be happening?

  12. Congratulations on your Release of "Behind The Scenes".I know its going to be an aesoem read .Have a great day .

  13. Congratulations on your new release!!
    Thanks for the free read!

Do the books have to be read in order, Michelle or can they be started anywhere?

  15. CONGRATS!!

  16. Michelle is a new-to-me author but I like what I've read so far. I'll believe I'll be adding her stuff to my books to buy list. And congratulations on the release of 'Behind the Scenes'.
