Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the release of ALPHA MATE, the first book in Winona Wilder's  new Northern Shifters Series!

Winona Wilder enjoys delving into the human mind and exploring emotion. She savors the challenge of mixing smoking hot sex with lovable, complex characters. When not spending time with her husband and children in the Great Canadian North, she's typing away at her next alternative romance.

ALPHA MATE by Winona Wilder

Northern Shifters 1

Nathan is forced to flee to the northern forests to escape the urban development. When he stumbles across wolf shifter territory, the young fox is forced into hiding. The wolves prowling the forest would want nothing better than to exterminate him and his family. His entire life is a struggle, being the lowest regarded race amongst shifters.

Jacob is a proud member of the Marcelle Wolf Pack. Their main goal is to protect and expand their rule over the forests. No mercy. No weakness. When he discovers the sexy blond he fell for at the local bar is actually a fox, his world tilts off its axis. Nathan brings out his protective instincts, and for once he can see a future beyond his duty to the pack.

But Jacob's alpha condemns their mixed race mating, forcing them apart. Will Jacob choose love or loyalty to his pack?

  1. Good morning Stacey/Winona! Hope you had a wonderful holiday season!

Super congrats on the new release and the new series!

For those not familiar with your work, can you tell us a bit about it and please tell us about your new book and your new series.

I'm heading over to read the excerpt now - after I get myself some ice water, because I know how hot your writing is, I need to be prepared - lol!

Hope you enjoy your party today (thanks so much for offering up such a beautiful prize!) and I hope the new book is your biggest seller yet!

Best to you in the new year!

  2. Thanks, DeNita!

Alpha Mate is Winona's first paranormal m/m series. It's been a hit with readers and I'm working on book #2 now.

There are many men in this series in need of a HEA.

    I loved writing it!

  3. Hi Winona! When I read that you live in the northern region of Canada it made me wonder how much of where you live did you incorporate into your novel? And what is it like living there? Highly populated?

  4. Hi, Winona! Congrats on this new series! Do you have a set story arc in mind for the series, or is each story stand alone? How many books do you have in mind?

    Best wishes for many sales!

  5. Patricia,

I live in northern Ontario, but have also lived in BC. Both beautiful places. I love using imagery in my books.

  6. Flchen,

Each book is stand alone. I'd like to give each member of the Marcelle pack a story and I'll see where it goes from there.

    Love the cover too.

Do you think a cover helps sells a book?

Do some stories take longer to write than others, does it depend on the characters, etc.?

  11. Debby,

Each man should get a book and possibly secondary characters. I loved writing the book :)

  12. Eva,

Even if I devote the same time, some are easier/faster to write than others. If I enjoy writing it and have a clear vision, it's easier to write.

  13. Congratulations on your new release!!

Did you decide before you began the Northern Shifters Series just how many books you would write, or is it a kind of 'we'll see how we go' thing?

Do you find it harder to write m/m or m/f? or is it the same amount of difficulty?
