Celebrating A Hot New Short From Cheryl Dragon

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the release of OPENING NIGHT a hot and sexy erotic short story from Cheryl Dragon  and Resplendence Publishing!

A lover of unusual things, Cheryl Dragon enjoys writing unique stories with sinfully hot erotic romance or suspenseful mainstream paranormals. Never at a loss for ideas, there are plenty of stories in her brain waiting to be written. Her two favorites book settings are Las Vegas and New Orleans...where anything can happen!

Cheryl lives in the Chicagoland area with her deaf albino cat. By day she crunches and analyzes numbers as an Assistant Controller for a division of a large international conglomerate which leaves the creative juices free for her erotic romance and paranormal suspense novels.

OPENING NIGHT by Cheryl Dragon

A heated one-night stand a year ago doesn't stop Barb from starring on Broadway with Drew, a hot young hunk. Their new play is a hit, and Drew is out to prove there’s more to their relationship than that one fling.

Locking them in a dressing room, he ties her up and uses sex to reveal the truth of her feelings - which is exactly what she needs from him.

He might be young, but he proves he's the strong partner she needs to free her from the mask she wears every day.

  9. I see your favorite book settings are listed as Las Vegas and New Orleans. Have you visited those places? Did that support or change your view of those cities as "anything can happen there?"

  10. OPENING NIGHT looks amazing. Congratulations!!

Is this a stand alone or part of a series you have going or will start? I ask because I see possibilities.

  11. Hi Everyone!!

    Thanks for stopping by:)

I wanted to write this story for a while but it wasn't big enough for a normal novella. They were perfect together and having the heroine just be stubborn etc..didn't feel like it could be 25k.

Then resplendence started doing gems and it worked. it's just a snapshot in their lives of when things change and they figure it all out.

Of course ther hero has to step up and grab her attention...

the characters are so real to me, i love when that happens in a story!!

now to the rest of the questions...

  12. I love New Orleans....well the food:) That's first.

I love that it feel so different and unique. the music, the architecture...the history.

    it's an experience....

  13. more cougars?? hmmm...definitely one more but not right away.

I love them but the tricky party with cougars is the characters have to be just right to make it work.

I'll definitely do more but that depends on those characters:)

  14. i've been to vegas several times. new orleans once.

vegas, anything can happen. you can buy anything if you have the money. the stories i've heard from cab drivers alone:O

i love vegas. i could live in that climate and love the views!

new orleans...that's a different sort of anything. sure, mardi gras is wild. but i think more of ghost tours and voodoo shops. you're in a place with a deep history and it's so cool. the feel of that place is amazing.

  15. Opening Night is stand alone. i hadn't planned on doing a series about broadway or anything.

it's the characters here that got to me:) now they're happy! VERY happy;)

  16. Congrats on the new release
    Sounds like a great book

What was your first impression of the cover?Did you have any say with it?

  17. the cover...

for gems, they do a bunch of covers and authors pick from the available selections. they don't get reused but there is no form.

so i picked that one from those available. i was thinking that wanted a younger looking man...and he fit the bill.

  18. Do you work on more than one story at a time?

  19. generally i write one story at a time. but i can be editing one, writing another, and making notes for the next one all at the same time:)

    gotta keep the process flowing!

  20. Congrats on your newest release! How awesome! Did anyone inspire your characters?

  21. Hi Cheryl,
    congratulations on the new release.
i love the cover of the book,it's
gorgeous and the excerpt was wonderful. i can't wait to read the rest of the book and see what happens next. :)
do you have a favorite book or character that you have written?

  22. inspire the characters? hmmm. not directly. they popped in my head as pretty unique individuals. the heroine especially had her own issues...which made the story work:)

  23. a favorite?? Fly Boys is the one book where the characters really surprised me and it worked better than I'd hoped.

those books happen and as a writer, i want to do that again because it was a creative high.

so far, that's the one i'd recommend as my favorite....
