Celebrating Melissa Schroeder's Sexy New Military Romance Series - The Santinis

All day today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the kick off of Melissa Schroeder's much anticipated new military romance series, The Santinis.  Four brothers who believe in service before self, and the women who will bring them to their knees. Each story is a stand-alone novella featuring one brother and his love interest. They do not have to be read in order, but to fully enjoy the reader might prefer to read them in order. Each book features a different service and a location where Mel was stationed with her husband.

LEONARDO by Melissa Schroeder

The Santinis Book One

Leo Santini is a man who always has a plan. It is the way to live a well-ordered life. He never planned on dealing with the hardheaded physical therapist who is taking care of his friend. He definitely never planned on being so totally infatuated with her.

Maryanne Johnson doesn't have time for a romance—especially with a military man. Sure, Leo is drop dead sexy, but more than one man in a uniform had hurt her before. Unfortunately, she can't seem to resist him or his kisses. It doesn't help that the man is as sweet as he is sexy. Falling for him is easy, but she does her best to keep herself from admitting it to him.

Leo knows she wants to keep things simple but when a Santini is in love nothing will stop him from achieving his goal—even the hardheaded woman he loves.

From an early age, Melissa Schroeder loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book.

Since the publication of her first book in 2004, Melissa has had close to fifty romances published. She writes in genres from historical suspense to modern day erotic romance to futuristics and paranormals. Included in those releases is the bestselling Harmless series. In 2011, Melissa branched out into self-publishing with A Little Harmless Submission and the popular military spinoff, Infatuation: A Little Harmless Military Romance. Along the way she has garnered an epic nomination, a multitude of reviewer’s recommended reads, over five Capa nods from TRS, three nominations for AAD Bookies and regularly tops the best seller lists on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Since she spent her childhood as a military brat, Melissa swore never to marry military. But, as we all know, Fate has her way with mortals. She is married to an AF major and is raising her own brats, both human and canine. She spends her days giving in to her addiction to Twitter, counting down the days until her hubby retires, and cursing the military for always sticking them in a location that is filled with bugs big enough to eat her children.

  1. Good morning Mel and super congrats on your new release and your new series!

We know that the first book in the series, Leonardo, came out a little bit early, which is great, because now we can talk about the wonderful reviews coming in and how well it's selling!

This is an awesome event, because all four of the books in The Santinis Series are coming out this month, right? So we readers don't have to wait too long to gobble up the next one! I love that you did that!

Now a little birdie on your website mentioned a spin-off that you're already working on, can you tell us about that?

Have a wonderful party today and thanks for being our special guest today! Enjoy and best of luck with the series - I hope all four books are huge bestsellers for you!

    1. Hi, DeNita!
Yes, the entire series will be out this month! Marco will release this week. Although, I have decided to write a Christmas story for Joey and Papa Santini. The mother of four boys intrigued readers in Leonardo and I have had requests to know more about her. So, everyone will find get to find out how they met and fell in love one Christmas.
Now, everyone met Jack Johnson, Maryanne's brother, in Leonardo and yes, all three of her Marine brothers will have their own series. It is a little ways down the road, but it will happen in the next year.

  3. I loved Leonardo but am really waiting for Marco. Navy girl what can I say although my big sister was a Marine, my father in-law was Air Force and my husband, both my parents, and my nephew were Army so I've got a connection to all the services but Coast Guard. So my question has got to be which of the four brothers is your favorite?

    1. That is super hard. I am editing Gianni right now and he is kind of stealing my heart. Younger men who appreciate older, curvier women who have brains...my kind of man, lol. But I have a feeling in the end it will be Vince. He's been in love with the same girl for almost 20 years, so it is kind of sweet.

  4. Hi Melissa, where did your inspiration for the Santini's come from?

    1. I think from all the military folk I have known over the years. When you are in the life you forget just how amazing it is that all of these people, not mention their families, have freely given over a part of their lives to serve. I wanted to show that dedication, but I really wanted to show it across the different services too.

  6. I read Leonardo and can't wait to read the next ones! I am so glad that we don't have to wait too long!
How did you come up with the idea of having 4 brothers in different branched of the army?

    1. Thank you! I was thinking about wanting to commemorate my 20 years as a military wife, and figured I could feature different bases. One thing though, I wanted it to be all one family but I didn't want it to be all the same service. I thought it would be interesting to see the Santinis and the different paths they had chosen to take. Some went to college, some of them opted to go a different route.
