Celebrating Release Day For Erin Nicholas

Today, on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we are celebrating the release of a sexy new romance from Erin Nicholas called HOTBLOODED

Erin has been reading romance since her mom first let her into her book cupboard when Erin was about fourteen. LaVyrle Spencer, Julie Garwood, Debbie Macomber... they took Erin's 'happily ever after' ideas from animated princesses to real people in the real world.

She's been writing romance almost as long. Many a family car trip was spent with her head bent over a spiral notebook in the back seat. She'll confess that her very first attempts at fiction were fantasy and paranormals, influenced by her father's love of the Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, and the original Alice in Wonderland. If Harry Potter had been around, Erin's sure he would have been on the bedtime story shelf as well.

But it wasn't long until Erin started writing about true love and that's where she's been ever since.

She's so thrilled to be able to share these stories with you and hopes that they make you smile, sigh, maybe even choke up a little. Most of all, She hopes that they help you believe in magical things like first kisses, the spark of passion, and the power of true love.

Erin loves to hear from readers! Please write her at Erin@ErinNicholas.com

HOTBLOODED by Erin Nicholas

Her mama always said the women in their family were hotblooded...

And it's been causing Brooke Donovan trouble her whole life. But it wasn't until her mother took on the most powerful man in Honey Creek, Texas, that Brooke truly realized the daughter of the town whore didn't stand a chance. When she left, it was supposed to be for good. But now, thanks to her late husband's deal with their hometown, she's back in the last place on earth she wants to be. Temporarily. As soon as her debts are paid off, she's outta here. Until in walks the one man who can make her rethink everything.

Dr. Jack Silver fixes things. So, when he learns his uncle is responsible for Brooke losing her husband, his sense of honor drives him across Texas to make amends. Instead of a broken woman, though, he finds a gorgeous, feisty physician's assistant trying to survive in a town that wants her gone. She also has a mile-high fence built out of pride - and a clinic that's at risk of going belly up. She may not want his money, but the clinic? He can fix that. He just never expects that in setting Brooke back on her feet, he'll be swept right off his own.

Product Warnings - Contains a hot-blooded woman, a man who really likes that about her, a town with a long memory, and a cappuccino machine that makes it all worthwhile.

  2. Hi, DeNita!
I agree that Samhain did a fantastic job on this cover! :) Scott Carpenter is the best!

I'm so glad this book is out! I've "known" Jack and Brooke for a long time! And I have enjoyed spending time in my fictional town of Honey Creek, Texas (even though there's a real place called Honey Creek in Texas and a town named Honey Creek in Iowa :)). It's a typical small town with secrets and rivalries and nosy neighbors. But there are also friends and good times... which Brooke eventually figures out :)

I haven't planned a series for sure but there are some really fun secondary characters in Carla, Brooke's best friend, and David, Jack's brother, the psychiatrist so you never know... *g*

    Thanks for having me today!
    Erin

  3. Congrats on your new release. I really enjoy small town romances, they are so fun. Am always amused with Samhain's descriptions of stories. It is morning and I haven't yet had caffeine so though I vigorously agree with the statement made, I am curious about how a cappucino machine makes it all worthwhile in your book.

  10. hi, everyone! You're so sweet to stop by just to say hi too! :)

But I do love answering questions!

Lil, the cappucino machine is, at first, a thorn in Brooke's side :) Jack buys it to prove that he's going to do *something* for her and if she won't let him do something legit then he'll just start making stuff up. But later... well, here's part of that scene http://www.erinnicholas.com/hotblooded.html#excerpt

Elaing8, I had a lot of favorite scenes! Maybe my favorite part of the book is when Jack tricks her into going on a date with him-- it's more than one scene but that was fun!

Hi, Jen! As for Brooke's hubby-- he's been gone about seven months when the book starts. And, yes, she loved him but they were best friends, more than lovers for reasons... that are revealed in the book! *g*

Bookwyrm369, I'm working on another book in the Bradford series (for those of you who've read the series, it's Kevin's book :)) and I'm doing edits on Everything You've Got-- a follow up book to Anything You Want that released this past spring. That will be out late March-early April next year. Kevin's story probably next fall!

Thanks for the questions and congratulations all!

My questions are: What is your favorite genre to write? Also do you have any favorite authors? Favorite books?

  14. Kim! LOL! But he's a football player... I have to wait for football season don't I?! :D

Hi, Christine, nice to "meet" you! :) My favorite genre to write is absolutely sexy contemporaries. That's also what I like to read most-- though I certainly read many genres! My favorite authors have always been Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Susan Andersen and Erin McCarthy but I've become a fan of Julie James and Victoria Dahl more recently too. Oh, and Jill Shalvis. And... I could go on and on. I love discovering new authors too!

Hi, Julianne! I love the cover too! The cover artist nailed in on the first try with this one ;) My first published book was No Matter What, out in November of 2009 :)

    Thanks for chatting everyone!

What book was the easiest to write or the hardest?

  16. Hi Annalisa!
    That's a great question.
I can tell you for sure what PART of the books are easiest and hardest to write! :) The beginning is my favorite and the dark moment is by far the hardest. And endings are hard for me.

As for my books, I can say that Just Like That, the 2nd of my Bradford series has been the easiest so far. It just fell into place beginning to end. It also needed the fewest edits, until Hotblooded came along :). The hardest was Just My Type. It was hard to write because the dynamics between all the friends and family were really affected by the H/h relationship. The second half of that book seemed to take me forever! :)

    Thanks for coming by!

  17. Hi Erin,
I'm a good friend of Kim's and she's played a major role in getting me hooked on your books. This one sounds like my kind of read. If you had to guess, how many books do you write in a year's time? Just curious....
    Thanks and keep 'em coming.
