  6. Thank you all for the comments and questions. I'll try my best to answer them in order.

This version of "Memories Die Last" is completely different from the original that was released 9 years ago, because I've become a better write since then. All I retained was the title, characters and the basic plot. Everything else was rewritten for the romance market. Yes, that meant I had to turn up the heat while maintaining the thriller edge that people liked about the first version.

The idea for this story had been bouncing around in my head for years until I finally challenged myself to either write it or shut up about it. The book proved so popular that it was followed by two more featuring the same characters. Revamped versions of those will be forthcoming.

I do read contemporary romance as well as write it, because I review for Two Lips Reviews. I try to read a different author or publisher each time, and I'm amazed at the varying degrees of quality and subject matter. To be honest, I've read some that were excellent, but an equal number that were a struggle to get through. I'm learning a lot about what readers buy/read, and it has influenced my own writing.

  10. Leni, I took up parasailing when I reached a certain age and didn't have someone telling me 'no'. I'd always wanted to and it was the first thing I gifted myself with after my last divorce. That was 12 years ago and I still get a rush from it.

Julianne, I started writing the same way I got into photography - it was a pasttime I enjoyed. Like photography, eventually I got to the point where I could get paid something for it - not much, but something.

Virginia, I enjoy all parts of writing. Coming up with an idea that intrigues me, creating interesting quirky characters, the whole bit. I suppose the best part is when I'm editing and putting on the finishing touches, especailly when something good comes to me that I didn't think of the first time around.

  13. I have three that were originally in print (the third, "The Vendetta Factor" is still available that way) and several more that are in the rough draft stage. The reaction to the originals told me I had a character that people really liked so yes, there will be more adventures.

  14. Congrats on your release, Tim. Not sure if you answered this question, but what inspired this story when you first thought it up years ago?
