Celebrating LaVerne Thompson's New Release

All day today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating LaVerne Thompson's longer and stronger re-release of COME TO ME - only 99 cents!

COME TO ME by LaVerne Thompson

Confirmed bachelor Baron Munro doesn't believe in love, much less love at first sight. But what about love at first sound? It wasn't until he heard Jasmine Sandler's voice that he realized his life was missing something.

Jasmine didn't know what to make of the man who haunted her days and invaded her nights. She knew the sound of his voice as intimately as she knew her own.

But...they've never actually met. Dare she take the risk of a lifetime?

  1. Good morning LaVerne and super congrats on the new release!!!

Now this is an updated - longer and stronger, as you put it - release, can you tell us more about that?

How did the characters come to life for you? Are they based on someone you know? As I read the blurb, I remembered back nearly 20 some years ago, when I worked in an office, a man answered my phone call and his voice nearly sent shock waves through me - actually jolted me out of my blah work state. His voice was so incredibly sexy I could barely continue my conversation with him. Never before or after has that ever happened again. So, your story has my interest!!

I hope you enjoy your special day here on our blog and over on our Facebook event today! Here's to COME TO ME being your biggest seller yet! Have fun today!

  2. Love this story, To fall for someone just hearing their voice. That's sexy! Great job LaVerne

  4. Huge congrats, LaVerne! Got my copy. I can't wait to read it.

  5. Hi DeNita,

lol thank you for the warm welcome. Come To Me, Baron and Jasmine's story has always been one of my favorites. When it was published the first time I was told it was too short. lol. So once I got my rights back to it I made some changes. I added a little more to it deepening the story between the two characters but it's still a short. lol Just taking you a little further in their lives after the airport.

The characters aren't really based on any one person but are an amalgamation of people I know and my vivid imagination. The premise of the story came about because I was in an online forum one day and we were talking about how people can fall in love or establish a connection without actually meeting. So I quickly threw out a story about a man who fell in love with the sound of a woman's voice and was willing to travel thousands of miles to find its source. lol So that's how it began. And the continuation of their story follows along that premise of using other senses to fall in love.

And yeah I think most of us have experienced a phone call where the person's voice leaves us a little flushed. hahahaha

  6. Did it take you long to re-rewrite it?

    1. A few months. But I was working on other things in-between. And I had it professionally edited so that took time too.
