  1. Happy Release Day Veronica!!!

You're a new author for me, so please take some time to not only tell us all about your new book, but also about yourself and the other work you have available.

I am loving the Reality with a Twist Series with Red Rose! Several of my favorite authors have stories in that series! Reality TV is such a big part of what most of us watch, so it's great that this series is taking a behind the scenes look.

I hope you enjoy your cyber launch today and here's to ROCK IDOL being a HUGE bestseller for you! Have fun!

    1. Thanks for the good wishes! Rock Idol was such a pleasure to write. The idea of forbidden love has always been intriguing to me. I experimented with it early in my career with My Son's Roommate and Rock Idol pulls out that theme in a sexy and suspenseful way.

As for my other books, they tend to fall into two categories -- sweet (but hot) stories like the Snowbound series and The Runaway; and hot books where the heroes and heroines make some mistakes in their search for the true loves of their lives. These latter books were written earlier in my career. I pretty much focus on the sweet (but hot) books these days.

  2. A new to me author as well. Sounds a lot like this was inspired by Paula Abdul a little bit. So how many books are slated to be in the Reality With A Twist Series?

    1. Donna,

Of course I was aware of the Paula Abdul accusations, but they really didn't dominate my thoughts about the story. Once I invented Ember Blaze she quickly took on a life of her own and took control of the story.

I don't know how many stories will eventually be in the series but there are some really strong books so far. I'm very proud to be part of this series.

    1. Leni, what author is not fascinated by psychology? I write about people and the more I learn about the human mind, hopefully the better stories I write.

      Thanks for the good wishes!

    1. The key is to write every chance you get. You'd be surprised if you make time to write every morning how fast the words will start to flow and the stories will come together.

  6. Yeah, another new author for me to love! Your new book sounds wonderful, Veronica. Did you model your characters after anyone in particular? What's your favorite genre to write in?

I'm heading to your website now to find out for myself ;)

    1. Hi Sharon, I mostly write contemporary erotic romances. Early on I wrote a few books that lean a little more heavily into the erotica category but all of my works deal with the quest for love.

As for modeling my characters on people, I don't really do that. But general problems and situations I see in the real world often spark a story. For example, have you ever noticed that people are often their OWN worst enemies when it comes to love? They have a good thing in front of them but they seem to actively work to screw it up either through insecurity or a disease like alcoholism? Maybe it's my interest in psychology but I find these situations fascinating and I tried to deal with those problems in my books One Night Stand and Blind Date. But mostly I write more straightforward romances (like Rock Idol and my Snowbound Series) where the problems the couple faces are the situations they are in and the people around them (as opposed to themselves). True love always wins out in the end.

  7. Hello Veronica and congratulations on your new book.

I was looking over at All Romance, which is where get all my books and I see this one isn't there yet. Any idea how long before it'll be available there?

I found several of your books, looks like you have a great selection, and some by a Veronica Towers, is that you as well?

    1. Hi Tracey, thanks for taking the time to look up my book list. It generally takes Red Rose Publishing about six weeks to put its books out on the third party distributor sites like All Romance and Amazon so Rock Idol will get there, it just takes a while.

Veronica Towers (plural) is a different author. Her titles show up with mine because of the way the All Romance search engine works.

If you're looking to sample one of my other books while you wait for Rock Idol to come out, you might try Not Another Dateless Valentine's Day. It's short, sweet and very hot, and also touches on the theme of forbidden love.

If you try it, please let me know what you think. I always love to hear from readers.
