Celebrating A New Tabor Heights, Ohio Story From Michelle Levigne

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating the release of  THE MISSION a new novel in Michelle Levigne's Tabor Heights, Ohio Series.

THE MISSION by Michelle Levigne

A Tabor Heights, Ohio Novel

Thanks to the Arc Foundation, the renovations Claire wanted for the Mission could now become reality. First on the list was a new head custodian to oversee the repairs. She welcomed Paul Hunter and his 5-year-old daughter Sammy, and was thankful for his wholehearted dedication to the Mission -- until she realized one of her deepest fears was having someone take over. Was Paul an ally, or a threat?

Paul welcomed a chance to take his daughter away from his hometown with its painful past and people who preferred to believe the lies about him and his dead wife. Tabor and the Mission were the fresh start and the ministry he had been looking for. He didn't even mind when Sammy took one look at Claire and asked if she was her new mother -- at least, not too much. He wasn't quite sure if he was ready to fall in love again, but if he ever did, Claire would be at the top of his list.

When painful remnants of their pasts followed both Claire and Paul to Tabor Heights, their growing, changing relationship and their faith in God were put to the test. Could they open up their hearts to each other enough to survive, and possibly make the new family that Sammy wanted?

For those who aren't familiar with your Tabor Heights books, can you tell us all about the series and how the books are connected and if they need to be read in order?

Also, for those of us who love your series, any plans on going in to a second year??? Pretty please...

  2. Good morning, everybody!

THE MISSION is #11 for Year One of Tabor Heights.

The final book of Year One, #12, to come out in August, is ACCIDENTAL HEARTS. The heroine is Abby Morgan, cousin to Dr. Daniel Morgan of THE SECOND TIME AROUND, and our hero is Tyler Sloane, roommate to Xander Finley of COMMON GROUNDS. So you've met these people before, even if only briefly.

But we're not here to talk about #12, are we? We're here for THE MISSION.

What do you do when dreams start to come true, but you realize that they could turn into a nightmare? Claire lives for the Mission, all the good it can do. The Mission and Tabor Heights have been a haven for her and her wheelchair-bound brother, Tommy -- part comedian, part Incredible Hulk, part softy. When Paul shows up and fills an essential role at the Mission, she feels like her playground is being invaded.

Then there's Sammy, who wants Claire to be her new mommy, and isn't above some conniving with Tommy to match Paul and Claire together.

Then there are the matchmakers in town, who want to match Paul with Jennifer, the new Minister to Children. Or to Nikki James. Or match Jennifer with Brock Pierson -- who belongs to Nikki, but the old biddies don't think they're right for each other. Or match Nikki with Doug, who has been brought in to assist Pastor Wally.

Hopefully, you'll laugh and cry -- and cheer when some real scumdogs get their comeuppance!

And YES, there will be MORE Tabor Heights books. Desert Breeze has given me a contract for EIGHT books to take place in Year Two.

The first book is INVITATION TO A WEDDING. You'll meet some new people in Tabor Heights, and get glimpses into the lives of many old friends as the hero and heroine carry on a long Internet correspondence and solidify their changing relationship.

Then there is COOKING UP TROUBLE. Audrey, a member of the cast at Homespun Theater, is a cook and a very good one. She's going to make cakes for quite a few weddings in town, including Max and Tony's. If the paparazzi don't interfere and ruin everything. The trouble really starts when Audrey teams up with Steve Coheny, Max's newly discovered half-brother, who has come back to Tabor Heights to possibly stay. If he has the right motivation.

Other titles include THE WRATH OF BUBBLES -- TRUCK STOP ANGEL -- THE TEDDY BEAR DANCER -- WHEELS (with Tommy Donnelly as our hero) -- and 2 sets of short stories featuring students at Butler-Williams University.

    ALERT!
    ALERT!

Along with the party favors, TWO people will win mousepads with the cover art for all 11 Tabor Heights novels.

So come ask questions and chat and invite others to come visit!

  3. Sounds like a fun series, Michelle. God's best blessings on this new endeavor. I liked "reads all over the board, why not write all over the board." My sentiments exactly.

  6. Wow, Michelle, I didn't realize this was the 11th in the series! Carumba! I had the same questions as bn100. Do you have a number in mind? Did you realize when you started that you'd write this many in one series? Congratulations on the new release!
    Blessings~

  8. Hi, everybody. Thanks for commenting!

Wow -- I go away for dinner and to run some errands, and the guests finally arrive!

There will be 20 books total in the Tabor Heights series -- unless, as I mentioned, I go into a Year Three.

Let me get through Year Two, first!

I do my rough drafts either on my Neo, or typed right into the computer. My handwriting is so awful, there's no way I want to have to fight with it when it comes time to transcribe. Besides, I think three times faster than I can scribble -- don't want to lose all those images and ideas while I'm waiting for my fingers to catch up!

You have so many of them that sound good. Congratulations on your release! Do you have any genre that is your favorite to write or read about?
