ReplyDeleteI tried to reply a few minutes ago, but my comment disappeared, so I hope Blogger's behaving today :). Anyway, to answer your questions...
The Gifted imagines a whole country with a very high percentage of paranormally gifted natives. It's an obscure, ioslated country, Zavrekestan, which was once part of the Soviet Union but is now a poor and corrupt independent republic. It's full of radical dissidents and paranormal weirdness, and nothing about it or its citizens is quite as it seems!
The first book, SMOKE AND MIRRORS focuses on Nell, half-Zavreki but brought up in Scotland where she struggles against her heritage and her gifts - until she's thrown into the crazy, chaotic and even criminal world of Zavreki gangster, Rodion Kosar, who may not be the bad guy after all. Rodion can start fires with his mind, melt locks, weapons etc, so he's a formidable opponent :). Nell dreams of the future.
The second book focuses on Nell's Scottish friend, psychologist Jen, who bites off more than she can chew when she goes looking for Nell in Zavrekestan and finds a mysterious, tormented stranger first.
Anyway, the books are full of action and adventure, paranormal shenanigans and hot, steamy love :). They're great fun to write and I hope you enjoy them!
Oh, and I've begun to write Book 3, set in the same world but again with different main characters, although you'll have met at least one of them before if you read the first two books :)
