Celebrating Ann Gimpel's New Shifter Romance

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating Ann Gimpel's sexy new shifter romance with Liquid Silver Books.

OUT OF THE SHADOWS by Ann Gimpel

Ann Gimpel has woven a tale of unforgettable love which spans two continents and reveals the shadows where our nightmares live. From the old country to the new world, one woman learns you cannot change who and what you are in a quest for everlasting love.

Relegated to a shadowy existence of half-truths, Gwendolyn lives in fear her wolf side will be discovered. She leaves the Old Country with Hunters nipping at her heels, but things in the Americas aren’t any better. Eighteenth-century society is just not kindly disposed to either shifters or witches.

Mikhail, the love of her life—except the relationship always felt pretty one-sided—has been missing for a hundred years. When he shows up after escaping imprisonment from an abbey in Austria, Gwendolyn is ecstatic to see him. But she’s afraid nothing’s really changed. Victimized by superstition and running for her life, she’s sure she’ll never be able to emerge from the shadows.

Since then her short fiction has appeared in a number of webzines and anthologies. Several paranormal romance novellas are available in e-format. Three novels, Psyche’s Prophecy, Psyche’s Search, and Psyche's Promise are small press publications available in e-format and paperback. A husband, grown children, grandchildren and three wolf hybrids round out her family.

  1. Good morning Ann and super congrats on your new release with Liquid Silver Books!

Please tell us all about your new release and whether it's part of a series or a stand-alone. I know you have a book out currently called DESTINY'S SHADOW, is it connected to your new release?

What are you working on now?

I hope you enjoy your launch party today and I hope OUT OF THE SHADOWS is your biggest seller yet!

  2. Good Morning, DeNita! Great to be back on Author Island! Love the look of the new site.
Even through Destiny's Shadow and Out of the Shadows both have "shadow" in their titles, they're not related beyond both being paranormal romances. Destiny's Shadow is a contemporary and takes place in the High Sierra. That one's about an MD and a park ranger who get a second chance at love. Out of the Shadows is set in 1700s Salem. It's a shifter tale with several new twists on shifter mythology.
I just finished the second book in the Earth Reclaimed Trilogy, so I'm working on edits! (Grin) Musa bought the first book in this series. I'm hopeful they'll take the last two as well.
Thanks for your kind wishes, and all your RTs and promo!

  3. A new author for me...yeah! I love shifter romances and finding new authors to love.

I'm not sure I've ever read a historical shifter, come to think of it. I'll have to check it out for sure.

Is paranormal your favorite romance to write and if so why?

I'm going to share this too!

    1. Thanks, Beckie! Shares are always appreciated. I started out writing science fiction and fantasy, so I love the paranormal elements. For me they make romance stories so much richer because they open the door for larger-than-life hunky, alpha males. My favorites!

    1. Hi bn100,
My favorite place to snap photos is the Sierra Nevada mountains. I have thousands of mountain pictures in my archives. Thanks for asking!

  5. Hi Ann and congratulations on your new book. The cover is very nice, reminds me of the gothic novels I saw my mom reading. I love it.

I think it is very exciting that you are a clinical psychologist. I have to say that has to be a real bonus as a writer. Do you clients know you are a writer? I would always wonder if I was in one of your books - lol!

  6. Hi Katie,
Thanks for stopping by. I've kept a good separation in my careers. I more-or-less "retired" from psychology a little over a year ago. I still have a very few clients who are interested in dream work and have spent years with me. They know about my second career. No one's ever asked if they were in my books!

Thanks for your compliments on the cover. Yes, I love it, too. It's a nice break from more traditional romance covers.
