Celebrating Two New Westervelt Wolves Book From Rebecca Royce

Today we're celebrating two brand new releases in Rebecca Royce's Westervelt Wolves Series - WOLF REBORN and today's holiday release from Liquid Silver, WOLF'S VALENTINE!

As a teenager, Rebecca Royce would hide in her room to read her favorite romance novels when she was supposed to be doing her homework. She hopes, these days, that her parents think it was well worth it.

Rebecca is the mother of three adorable boys and is fortunate to be married to her best friend. They live in northern New Jersey and try not to freeze too badly during the winter months.

She's in love with science fiction, fantasy, and the pararnormal and tries to use all of these elements in her writing. She's been told she's a little bloodthirsty so she hopes that when you read her work you'll enjoy the action packed ride that always ends in romance. Rebecca loves to write series because she loves to see characters develop over time and it always makes her happy to see her favorite characters make guest appearances in other books.

In Rebecca Royce's world anything is possible, anything can happen, and you should suspect that it will.

  4. I have not yet read your books but look forward to doing so.

What made you decide to write about wolves vs say bears?

What is the best thing about being a writer?

  5. Yes! Big month for me. LOL.

The Westervelt Wolves started with Her Wolf which released last August. It tells the stories of a group of brothers--the Kane--left to pick up the pieces of their nearly destroyed pack after the worst possible betrayal by their former Alpha--and father--Kendrick Kane. Each book progresses the story a step further until ultimately we will reach the ultimate show down.

Each of the brothers has to find their mate, not an easy task since one of the things Kendrick did was kill of most of the female shifters, forcing the others to go into hiding and pretend to be humans.

In Wolf Reborn: The Westervelt Wolves Book 3, Faith Anderson was a child when she left Westervelt and was made to believe that her memories of wolf shifters and magic were the fantasies of her childhood mind.

By contrast, in Wolf's Valentine, a Holiday series that takes us temporarily out of the Kane brother's story and into the rest of the pack, Jana knows exactly who she is, exactly what happened thirty years earlier, and she's terrified to encounter Malcolm.

I think the contrast between the two women is really interesting and I hope you'll continue to enjoy Westervelt as we move forward!

  7. Hi Wendy,
    Wow. Great questions.

Okay, to explain the wolves. I have three young children (ages 4 months-4 years) Before my third son was born, I was wondering through a zoo with my first two sons. It was Halloween time and the zoo was decorated for the holiday. We walked by the wolf area and this wolf looked up at me, I mean right in the eyes, and the whole series was born. Like a snap of the fingers, I knew the entire story of the entire series. (All 9 books) From start to finish. It was that fast. So, I guess it's a story of wolves and not bears because I happened to see a wolf that day instead of a bear. LOL

The best thing about being a writer? I've been making up stories since I was a child (And now I see my 4 year old do it, which is really neat) Now, that I'm officially writing for publication it is an extraordinary gift to be able to share the worlds that live in my imagination with all of you!

    Thank you for coming by.

  9. Hi, Rebecca! Congratulations on your two new releases in your wonderful "Westervelt Wolves" series! Since you admit to a thirst for blood, are you a horror movie fan? Do you plan to see "The Wolfman" movie starring Benecio Del Toro?

    Happy Valentine's Day!

  10. Virginia,
Holy cow. I cannot wait for that movie. Benecio Del Toro and Emily Blunt and Anthony Hopkins. Wow. I cannot wait. I'm already pestering my husband about it.

As an adult, I am a horror movie fan. BIG TIME. But as a child and a teenager I was very prone to get really really scared of things so it was a bad idea for me to watch them. I've been playing catch up on all of the stuff I missed as a teenager now. LOL. Did you ever see the movie Candyman? I saw that when I was younger and I wouldn't look in a mirror at night for a year. But, I think seeing the Exorcist pretty much made all other horror movies pale in comparison and it helped me to get over it. LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Valentine's Day!
    Rebecca

  11. Ooh, new series for me to read. Thank you. If it's not a spoiler, are there other shifters in the Westervelt Wolf World (say that 3 times fast) or are wolves the only shifters?

  12. I am excited to get to know your books!!! They sound great. I use to hide n my room and read my romance novels too...unfortunately it has not paid off for me!!

  13. Hi, Rebecca.

What is your opinion on book trailers? Do you think they help in book sales?

    Thanks,

  14. The questions that follow after each book description is enough to make me want to read them. I'm dying to find out the answers.

  15. Sewicked,
There are other shifters. In the second book, Summer's Wolf, Cullen Murphy, who is until he meets Summers, the oldest unmated member of Westervelt, knows a lot of things that the rest of the pack does not know. One of those things is the existence of other 'magical' beings. But the books are focused on the wolves, for now. That's not to say that couldn't be changing shortly...LOL. It's been sort of funny trying to figure out how to answer that question without giving anything away...
