A SINFUL EDUCATION by Layna Pimentel
Pleasure Garden Follies Series Book Two
Who knew an unconventional education could be so sinfully exquisite.
Lord Charles Avonlea has evaded marriage over the last year, but his mother is determined to find him a wife. Far from consenting to any of her choices, he sets his sights on the one woman unavailable to him, his best friend's younger sister. With no regard for the law or her impending nuptials, he is determined to make Lady Emily Thompson his bride. The only trouble is, he’s stumbled upon dangerous information and hopes he can get to her before it’s too late.
Stunned and dismayed at discovering the arrangement between her mother and the Duke of Downsbury, Lady Emily Thompson searches for a way to break the marriage pact with the duke. She longs to be with the only man who indulges her curiosity, yet finds herself in the middle of a scandal that will crush her dreams forever.

ReplyDeleteThe Pleasure Garden Follies series, are regency set historical romances. My first book Scandal at Vauxhall, focuses on the Marquess of Stoughton, Nathaniel Thompson. He's sent away on business for the War Office, and when he returns to London, he discovers that the love of his life was married off to the Duke of Brimley shortly after his departure. Needless to say, there's a happily ever after for Nathaniel and Isabel, but it required the helpful hand of a few friends including Charles Avonlea, the Earl of Bridgeton. Here's the blurb:
The love and happiness Isabel Salisbury expected in life when she accepted the proposal of the Marquess of Stoughton takes an unexpected turn when he leaves on a mission for the war office and her parents marry her off to the Duke of Brimley.
Nathaniel Thompson, the Marquess of Stoughton, is devastated to learn upon his return that Isabel has married the duke. When news of her husband’s death surfaces, Nathaniel sets out to make amends and will stop at nothing until she’s his marchioness.
But when London learns of a promiscuous tryst between them in the Daily, their credibility is at stake. They soon discover that nothing in life is simple, nor private, and all is fair in love and war.
In A Sinful Education, Charles Avonlea the Earl of Bridgeton, is forced to choose a wife, but the prospects his mother has set, are far less appealing than the Marquess of Stoughton's sister Emily. Unfortunately for Emily, her mother has plans of her own, too. The dowager countess, intends to marry her off to the wicked Duke of Downsbury, who already has an unsavory past with the characters from book 1.
For those who haven't met me yet, I'm married, and a mother to two lovely young ladies. When I'm not writing, I enjoy: hiking, researching medieval weaponry, gardening, and collecting tarot cards and gargoyles.
ReplyDeleteHi Layna, nice to meet you. Your book sounds really good and I would love to read it. What genre do your read most?
ReplyDeletequiltlady110 AT gmail DOT com
Hi Quilt Lady! Pleasure to meet you, too. :)
DeleteThere really isn't one genre I read more than another. I do tend to prefer historical romance, but I do love my erotica, paranormal romances, and urban fantasy.
And on occasion, I do enjoy a good suspense, or sci/fi novel.
Sounds interesting. How many books will be in the series?
ReplyDeletebn100candg at hotmail dot com
Bn100,
ReplyDeleteThere are a total of three books in the Pleasure Garden Follies series. The final one will be released tentatively this November.
My new historical romance series that launches late winter/early spring of 2014, could be considered a spin off, but not really. It'll have a connecting character, but that is all.
I have read a few of Layna's books, including book 1 of this series, and I must say, I absolutelty love them!!!!I love the characters and her style of writing. I am quickly drawn into the book and I cannot put it down, i'm kept on the edge of my seat wanting more. Layna has me hooked and has a fan for life!!
ReplyDeleteLayna Congrats on all you accompishments, This is one of many! I cannot wait to watch you grow as an author and an inspriation to many women to go after thier dreams. The sky's the limit!
Thank you, Jen. I'm glad you've enjoyed my books along the way.
DeleteHere's to hoping I have many years ahead of me. :)
Congratulations on your new release!!
ReplyDeleteRegency is a favorite period of mine to read.
How do you decide upon the settings for your books?
marypres(AT)gmail(DOT)com
Hi Mary!
DeleteThank you for stopping by.
I honestly don't have any particular process when it comes to deciding the setting. Usually when I come up with an idea for a book, everything seems to fall into place, or seems natural to pick the area it takes place in.
Thank you to all the participants. The winner was selected using random.org.
