Celebrating Missy Martine's New Western Menage

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating Missy Martine's sexy new Western menage romance, STAR WISHES!

STAR WISHES by Missy Martine

Sarah Keevers had lived and worked in an orphanage in St. Louis since she was five years old. She’d stayed on to protect the younger children from the harsh headmistress. Now, she’s inherited money from a grandfather she never knew she had, and she wants to take the children far away. The only problems are the children don’t legally belong to her, and women have no legal rights in 1856.

So, Sarah changes her name to Samuel Kees, disguises the children, and heads west with her new family. She settles in Big Springs and meets up with Abe West, the local sheriff, and his brother, Ike. The two men discover her secret and decide she’d make the perfect wife.

They’re going to do everything they can to earn her trust. Will they be able to protect Sarah, and hold on to her love when her picture shows up on a wanted poster for kidnapping?

  1. Good morning Missy and super congrats on your new release STAR WISHES!! I see it's getting some great reviews - you must be thrilled!

Tell us about your new book and how you came up with the idea. Did you do a lot of research? The Old West, is one of my favorite time periods, so I can't wait to read this! Loved the adult excerpt you have on your site, btw - woo hoo!

What's up next for you? I know you've been busy!

Hope you enjoy your party today and I hope STAR WISHES is your biggest seller yet! Enjoy and have fun!

  2. Good morning Author Island and friends, It's great to be here this beautiful morning, and I'm sending my warmest thanks to Author Island for sponsoring this release party. Actually, it's a "belated" release party. Things kind of got put on hold while I recovered from a nasty bout with pancreatitis. Being put in the hospital while you're on vacation, in a strange city, is no fun at all!

I got the idea for Star Wishes when I was researching the Old West for my book Anna Doubles Down. The more I read made me think it would have been the perfect time for me to have lived my life. I think I would have been happy living back when things were so much simplier. But, then I got to thinking about how independent I am now and started wondering how you could be independent back in the 1800's. It was easy to put together a storyline from that view point. The book was great fun to write, and I plan a couple of more in the not too distant future that deal with some of the orphans in this book.

Next for me is the sequel to Anna Doubles Down called "When Kat's Away". It will be released by Siren Bookstrand on July 11th. After that, near the end of July, is a new series starting. Galactic Nuptials 1 - Space Bride will be released. There are 2 following rather quickly after that - "My Chameleon Loves" and "Meredith's Pride". I've also started the outlines for a continuation of the Wolfen Heritage Series. The new version - A Wolfen Heritage - The Next Gen - 25 Years Later will have 6 books. The first one will be titled "Blind Acceptance" They will be coming out next year. So, as you can see, I'm keeping busy :)

Again, thanks for hosting my party and I look forward to hearing from some of the readers today. Ask me anything and I'll try my best to answer :)

  3. This book sounds like it will be really good. I like the idea of Sarah disguising herself and the children to get away from the orphanage. How many kids were there? I can't wait to find out what Abe and Ike do to protect her.

    1. Hi Patsy, There are 4 orphans that she's particularly attached to in the beginning, and a lot more by the end of the book. She has a big heart and there's room for all the little unwanted children. Thanks so much for stopping by today and good luck in the contest.

    1. Hi Kathleen, I've always loved the romance books that had children in them. There's nothing greater to cement a relationship than the love of a child. Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you get a chance to read Star Wishes soon.

    1. Hey Donna, It's been very pleasant here in Sunny California. Most days are in the mid 70's and I can just leave my doors and windows open with a nice breeze. We did experience the heat on our vacation, especially driving home. Not a pleasant drive when temps are over 100. Thanks for stopping by today and good luck in the contest.

  6. Ooh, Missy, I love the sounds of this story! Sarah sounds like a terrific character and what fortune that she's met her matches in Abe and Ike! Is this story a stand alone? Would you consider revisiting this time/place with another story in the future?

Glad we've got lots to look forward to this year from you!

    1. Hi Stacie D, Thanks for the kind words. I enjoyed writing this story even more than I did Anna Doubles Down. I think the difference was the children. I love books where children are given a better life. Thanks for stopping by today and good luck in the contest.

    1. Hi Elaing, There's a scene in the book where the good sheriff tries to teach Sarah how to shoot a handgun - it made me laugh when I wrote it :) Thanks for stopping by today and good luck in the contest.

    1. Well hello, bn100 :) My plans center around July 3rd instead of the 4th. July 3rd will be my 13th wedding anniversary with my hubby and he's taking me out to Applebees for dinner (one of my favorite restaurants) and he gave me a $100 gift card to Amazon for me to buy books for my Kindle - the man knows what makes me happy! Thanks for stopping byb today and good luck in the contest.

  11. I want to read this book. With all the new releases it seems you are able to work on more than one book at a time. How do you keep all the story lines staight as you move between them?

    1. Hi lindseye, That's an excellent question. I do work on several books at the same time, and I keep them straight using excel files for my outlines. Each book I write gets a couple of excel files. One is used to describe and create all the characters - their physical characteristics, personalities, and how they relate to one another. The other excel file is used as an outline for the direction I want the story to go. As I pass key areas I hightlight them on the file and move on. No matter how much time away from that book I spend, I'll always go right back to the paragraph I left off. Thanks so much for coming by today and good luck on the contest.
