Celebrating Sandra Sookoo's New Historical Paranormal Release

Today on our Cyber Launch Party Blog, we're celebrating a new historical paranormal romance from Sandra Sookoo.

A WOLFISH SCANDAL by Sandra Sookoo

He has nothing to live for. She has nothing to lose. Together, they have everything to gain.

The year is 1863 and Lyndal Carson's life is at a premium. Afflicted with a heart ailment wherein she can drop dead at any time, she makes a pact with herself to create one scandal and to really live before she dies. Tired of being a handmaiden to her family, she writes the letter that will change her destiny.

Grey Rutledge, a werewolf who is hounded by a reporter and haunted by memories, endeavors to provide a diversion large enough that the paper will forget its interest. He invites twelve women to his estate on the premise of choosing one of them for his mate. After losing his family, the only thing he wants is heirs and a woman by his side.

As the days go on, both Lyndal and Grey find that elusive piece missing from their lives. When their respective secrets are revealed, they both run the risk of losing everything. Danger catches them unaware during an innocent afternoon but it's what is decided as life hangs in the balance that will change their lives forever.

  2. Thanks for having me today!

When I saw A Wolfish Scandal was already a best seller (the night before it officially released) I was shocked but pleased :-)

How did the idea come to me? Well, I've recently become fascinated with the Civil War and wanted to see what Indiana's role in the War was. After lots of research and a visit to a living history museum here, the idea was born.

Will it be a series? Yup. I'm already working on the sequel, which is almost halfway done :-)

  5. Congrats, Sandra! This book sounds like a real winner. Your bio says that you've also written sci-fi. Are these romances as well? (Because everything is better with romance in the mix.) :)

  6. Sandra, this story sounds lovely! I like that they are both a little broken and can only be healed by each other. I adore paranormal romance and historical romance. This sounds like something I will love.

  9. Hi Ashley,

Yes indeed my sci-fi stories have some sort of romance in them. Blink, Damaged Cargo, and Fractured all have some degree of romance and feature strong women. Same goes for Ricochet which releases later this month :-)

I love blending genres, and when the opportunity came up to make the hero a werewolf, well, I was thrilled when I discovered it would fit and work well!

  13. Hi Lindseye!

Well, the living history museum around here has a whole Civil War section dedicated to Indiana's one "skirmish" of the war. I talked to the volunteers who had to answer in period speak and from their own points of view. It was just an interesting experience :-)

  14. Hi Annalisa!

A favorite book of mine that I've written? Hmm, that's a bit hard to say, but I loved writing the hero in Vegetarian at Midnight. I loved writing the heroine in Wedgie Tales, and I loved the story line of Marking Time :-) Recently, the characters from A Wolfish Scandal have taken over my life. I guess that's why I'm writing a sequel LOL
